- Springfield is a city in the state of Massachusetts, United States, and the seat of Hampden County. Springfield sits on the eastern bank of the Connecticut River near its confluence with three rivers: the western Westfield River, the eastern Chicopee River, and the eastern Mill River.
My hometown. Best city ever. I love Massachusetts. I wouldnt change it for anything.

Hahaha straight up sh**hole. Lived there for 9 years & NEVER got even ONE job despite applying to so many of the years. Moved to Amherst & got 2 jobs in a week.
It's a better city than most and the people are ok, in all the neighborhoods.

It really does look spacious, well planned, pretty affulent in places. I would have liked to have seen more of the city centre & any old architectural buildings.

& our homes are completely different from the ones in this video
We have alot of old victorian terraced houses in row after row
Also alot of one level Bungalows
Our homes are very small compared to American ones. I think its because we get alot of cold, rainy weather & smaller rooms retain heat better. It would cost alot to heat large rooms.

I've lived here my whole entire life, and yes, it gets boring at times, but it is really quiet and peaceful, it is a good place for a retirement city or for a vacation.
It really depends on what part of the city.. Some parts are way safer than others .. No matter what i love my city .. It humbles you

@@MadWolf1980xxx Hi.. Nice to hear that you are also moving to Springfield. I dont know if all areas are nice though. I was there for interview and springfield didnt look that great. I think south of springfield towards hartford is much better.
I grew up just across the river and I love and hate Springfield, I love it for its history and it’s culture but I hate what the city has fallen to the last few decades but it’s starting to pull itself together again I can see

I was born and raised in Springfield it used to be nice but now its drug infested so sad and the murders are ridiculous Make sure you pray for God to lead you I know a lot of people that want to leave Springfield

Hi @@ilyasthetraveler007 You could say the same about every Amercian city in terms of 21st century crime/drug stats. Look into Indian Orchard section of SPFLD, an old mill village neighborhood that was incorporated into Springfield many years ago. The Orchard is safe, convenient and still pretty cheap. I've lived in I.O. for over 20 years and have had no problems. If you are interested in a two family with good bones, look me up. I might be forced to sell if my refi doesn't go thruogh. Cheers!
@@ilyasthetraveler007 You should also look in neighboring Chicopee too, relatively cheap housing and a multitude of multi-family units through out the city.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. I could be wrong, but it seems like Springfield's doing the best it has in the last 20 or so years. And I wouldn't chock it all up to that casino.

The Five College Area is very artsy and vibrant with coffee shops, bookstores, record stores, etc. Just north of Springfield in Hampshire County. I live in Easthampton which is Whoville. It's the neighboring city of Northampton!!!

Try getting a place in Leverett or Shutesbury which is north of Amherst and east of Greenfield.

I used to go there all the time from NH because they had the best strip joint around, Mardis Gras club. Some a hole just closed it, so there's no reason to go there anymore. I spent hundreds and thousands there, so that hurts the economy and I'm sure other dudes will stay away too. So the lesson is if there's a strip joint in your town or city Keep it Open!!!

We have nature trees 🌲 grass rivers parks pretty good weather half the year good food we have everything nightlife access to good hospitals 🏥 healthcare and services other states don’t have we are very Fortunate! A lot of outdoors nature and woods a lot of other places keep building we are so lucky! If you drive up 91 North the mountain ⛰ views on a clear day! We’re close to Connecticut New York Rhodesia Island Vermont and New Hampshire And not too far away from Canada! We have beaches rivers lakes there’s a lot to do!
Are there certain neighborhoods that are better to consider? We may be relocating.

i used to live in Springfield but back in 2015.i left to Pennsylvania don't miss it at all shitty town
Grew in up Springfield off Plainfield Street. (moved there from Florida, WHY??) Probably 1972 - 1983, I should say I escaped in 83 and never looked back. Joined the Army and have had a great life. If I stayed in Springfield guaranteed to be a failure and struggle. Being poor and living in the project's sucks. But you MUST decide early you want better and leave. The times I have gone back saw people from back in the day that their parents were on welfare, they are on welfare and their children in the same boat. I think the only thing I can say I loved was going to Tech (closed in 86) and being in JROTC, everything else was trash.
Your roads don't look like they are being kept in good conditions, what happen with the local legislation on these issues.
