Despite all the negative comments Springfield is home to many of us..I always will have love for the FIELD

SPEINGFIELD was the weapons depot for the civil war! We created the springfield rifle, basketball, volleyball (Holyoke), and TONS of trends and lingo that are used in other states! Massachusetts is the FIRST STATE!
It pisses me off when I see a PA license plate and their motto is "the birth place of America." That's a lie. Massachusetts is the true birth place of America. Springfield is also the very first city in America named Springfield. Every other city by that name came later. I love my city and am damn proud to be from Springfield, MA

Springfield is actually getting better or at least trying, granted there's tons of dirtbags still. Regardless, the new courthouse, updated civic center, renovated train station, new casino, new additions to Bay State Medical, new CRRC train facility and quality colleges are all big pluses and moves in the right direction. I honestly think that if a high speed train was put in it would really boost and grow everything similarly to what happened in Brooklyn, NY. Places like Boston and NYC are so overpriced and overcrowded it's disgusting. The only thing that makes sense is go outward for homes and better living conditions, but most that work in those cities can't or don't want to deal with the commute. Imagine a high speed train that would get people from Western Mass to Boston in 30 minutes?

I grew up in Springfield, attended AIC, and left for a Naval career… Viewing this 50 years after I left, I wonder where are all the homes cited in “The city of homes”? Where is the Forest Park section of town? How about Hungry Hill? All your film shows is brick buildings…

I grew up in Springfield and I don't recognize anything. When I left 40 years ago after high school I left for a reason. It was a dead end with little prospects for a future. Nice to see it's coming along with new investment for a strong future.
the brownstone buildings early in the video are the same architecture as brookline and Boston. the ones out that way are long row house based lots of them. renovations are just getting started they are much more expensive. there is also really nice pricey homes near some. there are rich people and poor people living near each other. things function differently as well
There's only one thing people need to know about Springfield is, if you walk around just keep your head down otherwise you'll probably get shot

That's not true. I've walked through every part of Springfield. It's not a perfect place. But it's relatively safe.

Nope. The Russians are mostly concentrated in West Springfield. Drugs is a problem throughout the region. Gangs are more or less wanna be gangs. There is some violence but the statistics are blown well out of proportion from what they actually are.

They make it look so clean and safe😅. What the video does not tell you is all the gangs and drug deals. Sure the area around the MGM Casino is safe and has a decent police coverage, but leave that area and it's more like keep a low profile, or the old fashion duck and cover.😂

Not a bad city. People just need to respect the city and not throw trash everywhere. I see people tossing trash out there car when there is a trash can 2 feet away.
I am from Worcester MA, I think Springfield is better than Worcester in many aspects.

I live in Worcester and I'm from Springfield where I was shot 5x at and tbh my friend the violence in Springfield is waaaay worse then Worcester. There's violence everywhere but Worcester is a better city to raise kids at then there is in Springfield. Trust me bro

If it takes a hundred presidencies, I am going to teach lower working class men/born in poverty, not to waste, their investments, as lives that just don't end like rent, under God; that brutes don't just sprout out of bed in the morning into an equal class society in less than a month, knowing nothing of persecution and that trauma, of different kinds, exist. Although it is the fastest way to waste a royal straight flush.
