Why Nothing Can Stop Eurofighter Typhoon with Mixed Missiles

  • Eurofighter Typhoon is the world’s leading air defence and ground attack aircraft with full multi and swing-role capabilities.
The aircraft's development effectively began in 1983 with the Future European Fighter Aircraft programme, a multinational collaboration among the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
The next part, we are going to show you its weapons. The Eurofighter Typhoon has 13 hardpoints for weapon carriage, four under each wing and five under the fuselage. An armament control system manages weapons selection and firing and monitors weapon status.
Depending on role, the fighter can carry the following mix of missiles:
•Air-superiority: six BVRAAM or AMRAAM air-to-air missiles on semi-recessed fuselage stations and two ASRAAM short-range air-to-air missiles on the outer pylons.
•Air interdiction: four AMRAAM, two ASRAAM, two cruise missiles and two anti-radar missiles.
•SEAD (suppression of enemy air defenses) with four AMRAAM, two ASRAAM, and six anti-radar missiles.
•Multirole: three AMRAAM, two ASRAAM, two ARM and two GBU-24 Paveway III/IV
•Close air support: with four AMRAAM, two ASRAAM, and 18 Brimstone anti-armor missiles
•The last one, Maritime attack with four AMRAAM, two ASRAAM, and six anti-ship missiles.
And the last part that we want to show you is about the engine.
The Eurofighter is equipped with two Eurojet EJ200 engines that have been developed by Eurojet, in Munich, each delivering thrust of 90kN in full reheat and 60kN in dry power mode. Single-stage turbines drive the three-stage fan and five-stage HP compressor. This allows Eurofighter Typhoon to cruise at supersonic speeds without the use of reheat for extended periods. The engines deliver 1,000 flying hours without needing unscheduled maintenance through the use of advanced integrated Health Monitoring for class-leading reliability, maintainability and Through Life Cost.
The Typhoon is capable of supersonic cruise without using afterburners (referred to as supercruise). Air Forces Monthly gives a maximum supercruise speed of Mach 1.1 for the RAF FGR4 multirole version, however in a Singaporean evaluation, a Typhoon managed to supercruise at Mach 1.21 on a hot day with a combat load. But Eurofighter states that the Typhoon can supercruise at Mach 1.5.

My favourite story about the typhoon is from back in 2005 when two F-15’s saw one flying over the Lake District and decided to give the pilot a fright. The RAF pilot managed to shake off the attempted radar lock and managed to get a radar lock on both of them. Oh, that particular typhoon was just a trainer and it was hushed up for a while to avoid any blushes. Not for the RAF of course, that pilot had nothing to be ashamed of

@@JimCarner Agreed, Jim. Currently, the Typhoon is probably the most underrated fighter in service. Not a bad thing though. Just think of the surprise any adversary will get should they be foolish enough to take it on! However, the French Rafale is so slouch either, while the Swedish Gripen is a real force to be reckoned with. Together, and deployed as an integrated force, they could dominate the European air space. This is further enhanced by the advent of ever-increasing numbers of F-35s in the area, and the very real probability that they will soon have access to Meteor! Very soon, the new F-15EX "bomb trucks" will be entering service with an order for 100 or more in the offing. Just to spice things up a bit, there is the B21 coming on stream in the next few years, which is set to be a MAJOR surprise for "them"!
Another aspect is the quick-response capability of the Typhoon. Pilots do many alerts and get in the air within minutes, and thus get valuable practice in this respect. Not many other Air Forces have this ability currently.

Also 'invisibility' is not the only goal of stealth. Its main goal against systems like the S300 or S400 is to make it harder to track a jet and shoot it down.
All in all, looking at data available to the public, the eurofighter is a good jet, but not able to fight and win against an F22. You are free to believe what you want of course, but once again: Available data does not support your believes.

This jet is only 4 -4.5 gen. It cannot survive in a high threat environment. It is equivalent to an F-15. No better. Why do we have so much revisionist history going on today. The American F35 may not be as pretty, but America makes things that just plain out will kill. The f35 is not pretty, but it can do so much. How can typhoon be most advanced compared to stealthy f35 with its helmet that can see through its own body, with its also radar which is most advanced, with its American missiles which have got to be the best, with its ability to share targeting info with ships, bombers, other less high tech 4th gen and fifth gen aircraft. How are they saying the euro is more high tech than an f35, I dont get it? In what area, weapons? Stealth? Radar? Sharing data?, Computer? Radar jamming? Can it see through its own body? Can not the f35 also attack ground targets like the typhoon. You know the f35 single engine is equal in power to both euro typhoon engines. The f35 in 2023 is getting a new one of 50,000 lb thrust and 15 percent greater range on same fuel. Already now the f35 has greater range than any other fighter known on internal fuel. We really don't know about the j20, but the j20 is junk. We know that the stealth of the f35 made it junk. It can't compete. It would probably just be okay against a 4th gen, but we also know it can't even maneuver as well as an f15. The su57 has even worse stealth which also makes it junk, but certainly maneuvers better than the j20. The f35 has a greater thrust to weight ratio than all other Jets except an f22 or perhaps an f15.

I’m not saying F22 or F35 aren’t as good as Typhoon, they clearly are better in certain scenarios but the rest of the world is getting a bit bored of people saying F22 or the F35 is the best, as they have different roles to play. F35 is no fighter anytime, it`s stealth plane for pointbombing or fight against old planes like F4 without AWACS or ground radar. But F22 not so much worse than Su-30. And F15 too

    • @frankcrawford416
      @frankcrawford416 Před 2 lety +4

No actually. We under rate them. The f35 and f22 are held back at airshows because it would be stupid to show everything. Their true stealth is also not known. The f35 actually has the lower rcs of the two. They want the rumor that the 22 is stealthier than the 35 to persist, although some generals are now saying the 35 is the stealthiest, without exact figures of course, that the 22 rcs is like a marble, and 35 is down to pea gravel size, which is much smaller. Both of these Jets, particularly the 22 would wipe the floor with other Jets whether they had stealth or not. But stealth, and true stealth, not the phoney stealth of su57, j20, or electronic stealth only of euro typhoon, grippen, makes the 35 and 22 so deadly. The 35 also has the most powerful electronic jamming too of all Jets made by man to date and enjoyed a 78 to one kill rate of the 35 against these same 4th gen aircraft. Yes, the 35 is just that good. And is not static but always upgraded. Unlike the static wares from other countries. Many other countries like China and Russia overrate their aircraft. But all other countries wring out their own aircrafts necks at airshows. In other words fly them to the maximum. While the United States holds theirs back to keep this important info close to the chest. The other countries don't really have anything to lose but prestige and sales. The United States may give out certain info to suit it, but keeps back info to suit it. And in airshows the 22 and 35 is actually held back in highly strict choreographed regimes.

This is a little out of date. The engines are being upgraded with RJ2X0 which are way more powerful. IE more like 100kN full afterburner and 72kN ish dry thrust. Not only that they have the same form factor and are near 30kg lighter. In military thrust they are a tad more efficient too. That will bring the power to weight to about 1.31. For comparison the F-35 is 0.87 in the same configuration. IE Air to Air.
