- This video I show you how to use the calculator in the spreadsheet in the link below. This calculator estimates the final invoice price of purchasing a vehicle from Copart. May not be 100% accurate, but will be very close.

Thanks man! I had the same thing happen. It was might fault for not doing more research. But no one said that when I bid and won on a 2500 dollar bike I’d be paying almost 1k in fees. I was and still am pissed. But in the end it was my fault.
Yeah, should know but having it at your fingertips for a quick calc during an auction is great. I compared it to some prior wins, and it is a really great tool...your disclaimer is good...not spot on but close enough. Thank you

Awesome video! Question: are you on Copart with a dealer license or just a public license? I’ve heard the selection is a lot more limited for general auctions. I’d like to just flip a few cars a year. Is Copart worth it?
A general account is all you need if you only intend to buy a few cars a year

Great tool. Huge timesaver. Thank you! I do have one question. Is this tool calculating sales tax on the Bid Price + Buyer Fee only? Copart calculates sales tax on the total of: Bid Price, Buyer Fee, Virtual Bid Fee, Gate Fee, License & Registration Fee. Shouldn't the sales tax box be at the bottom of all these fees? Hoping for clarification. I typed in one of my recent copart invoices and the numbers were different than what Copart charged me. Wondering if it's related to the sales tax being calculated correctly/incorrectly? Thanks again!

How long does it take to be able to go check vehicle once u payed for your membership?
immediately. Once you pay for a membership, they give you a bid number. You use this bid number to gain access to the yard.
So if the car is 2000 it would rlly be 2400
If you place a bid online do you have to pay a fee for each bid you place?
no you dont. the only fees you pay is when you win the bid
I bought a car in February 2021 in Copart and they didn’t charge me sale taxes. I don’t know why
What state do you live in? perhaps vehicle sales is not taxed in your state.

I ended up paying 2,900 for a 1,350 car
Is that shipping costs or? What's the breakdown?
@@lightworker303 Breakdown, shipping was 300 on top of the 2,900. It was like a 30 minute drive, the truck driver game me his info in case I needed him again he said he can tow it for 150
I don't have a dealers license so I had to pay a lot of extras be able to bid on the car etc.

I agree. Ever since I have built this spread sheet, I feel way more comfortable in my purchases. No surprises any more when it comes to the final bill.

copart has that figured it out! bids have reserve if you win the auction with a reserve not met then the seller enters onto a negotiation war! essentially not negotiating very much if they don’t get what they want it gets relisisted at a higher bid!
