- In this series of videos we take An Average Pool Player (loz) onto the WNT (World Nineball Tour) to see how the average pool player gets on.
Everyone thinks they can play pool (even Loz) 😁
So we put that to the test.
Your Average Pool Player agrees to compete against the pros on the World Tour how will he get on ?
Apologies for crap audio (we are slowly getting there) this will no longer be an issue soon thanks for your patience

Everytime he misses...."Ohhh the average pool player" LOL Great vid Karl.
Thank you hahaha
😂 I loved that too.
Love the idea. looking forward to seeing this pan out. This is why pool is a great sport. Not many sports allow your average Joe to play with the best. Golf is only the other. Pro-ams etc.
Correct well said
We had pros in a tournament in our local pool hall last year Appleton,Gorst, Jayson Shaw , I saw one of our best local players around play shaw and he was winning 3-1 on him and Shaw comes back and wins 7-3 incredible how good pros are they hardly make any errors on position big difference from avg good players
Great start looking forward to the next episode 😃
Thanks! 😄
Yo that music during the montage is banging! Very G funk vibes. Love it
Awesome series. I dont believe we ever got to see Rollie Williams play in the US Open, so Im excited to see this
Same here!
Your friend is a great sport. Great sense of humor between you two. This one was a lot of fun to watch, thanks for sharing it. Also, thanks for everything you do for pool. I think you're great for the game, Karl. Cheers.
Thanks for the kind message, this series will get better trust me this is just the start of this journey 😃😃
I occasionally play pros at regional peo-am 9-ball tournaments and win more than expected. My strategy is to play safeties whenever I can and if given a shot at a combo involving the object ball and the 9, I go for it. I know this goes against the notion that you only go after the 9 when the percentages are high. FYI, I have won two tournaments so far this year and that was before taking a break for the past 6 weeks. PS-- I am 83.
🎉🎉🎉
Top tier strategy sir
Brilliant! Loved this all the way Karl. Thank you
My pleasure!
Awesome video, i loved watching what you thought was important for him to know in a week and glad he was able to beat at least 1 pro player. That means there's always a chance!
Thanks appreciate it 😄
Awesome video idea!! Thanks Karl this is great
Thanks you it will get better also 😄💪🏻
Awesome. A montage without explanations!!
Well done Karl, well done! I like this format. Kind of exciting
Thanks a lot yes we going to have some fun with this
This will be fun to watch. I bet he does well.
Cool, i'd watch more from this series!
More to come, it’s going to get wild buckle up
Great and a very different video 💪. I'd like to throw my hat in the ring if you ever need anyone to do something like this in future 🤣🎱
Thanks a lot
Karl ,perhaps this isn't the place to ask but I was wondering if you can recommend any good coaches in the west of Scotland?
Want to improve my game ,there's not much american pool where I play, its all English pool and google comes up blank.
Anyway, cheers either way, loving the channel 👍
Fair play for giving average players an insight and a way into the pro ranks😊
No problem 😌
Love this type of content Karl. Please keep it up, maybe find a US counterpart to do something similar on this side of the world.
Thanks a lot Brian
It's great advice from a pro to beat a pro! It takes effort and practice practice practice to beat a pro!
Love the content! Keep the series going. Me mates in the pub😅
💯 Eric thanks for tuning in
What a phenomenal idea and series.
Loz mate, great effort and hope it went better in Spain.
Do you have a channel here?
Loz is now onboard with my channel paul, stay tuned as we are about to launch some epic videos
love your videos karl ❤️... i hope the audio experience gonna be better in the futur!
Working on it!
Anyone can win a race to 1 in 9 ball
Not if you’re playing Cj Wiley
Great video karl 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
True
Yeah, all you need to do to win a race to 1 against a world class pro is to get lucky and make a golden break
@@cry_now_laugh_laterirrelevant, never heard of him
Awesome video, thanks Karl.
Glad you enjoyed it
This is so good!!
Thanks Eddie
This brilliant I'd love to do that
I am jealous - that looks like such an awesome adventure
It really is!
Brilliant!
Thanks
Fair play, did well for a first attempt 👍
you should've brought Rollie from Kamui, your OG avarage pool player!
great stuff, nevertheless
At some point will get him on 💪🏻
I think I'm an average pool player too :) I wanna join tournaments, BUT I don't have the money hahaha :)
Gangsta's Paradise song suddenly plays and Efren "Bata" Reyes comes in slowly
😂😂😂😂😂
This was brilliant
Thanks a lot
Nice stuff!
Thanks!
Do I would love to do this, it seems like great fun and wonderful learning experience.
God Bless
Karl can u review thar peri break , or just give pros/cons thanks!
Will do
I hope you make a Johann Chua's what's in the bag🖤
Lol I'm next! I'll take some coaching from the legend/best commentator Karl Boyes!
Don't tell Jeremy I said that 🤫
Top secret hahaha
I'd fancy my chances winning a couple of racks against Shane Van Boening. Winning a frame of Snooker against Mark Selby not a chance. That's what makes 9 ball pool so fun to watch
Nineball is very accessible 💯 💪🏻
@karlboyes7844 When I was watching the last two tournaments on sky the world cup and Spanish open. What is the plastic rubber thing under the rack of balls at break. It never used to be there a few years ago
that 6 to 7 shot is why i never get the snooker style players. they skimp out on spin for weird reasons. why only left and no draw? is he playing for "any pocket" or did he just miscalculate positioning for the bottom right pocket?
Because he’s average hahaha and a plonker
Great video Karl. Obviously great coaching as well. Now teach how to NOT make unforced errors!
Stay tuned this series will get out of control hahaha
Karl would be set for life if he could teach that.
Come on loooz 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love it but please get a clip on mic
We do have that’s why some is clear but it’s a long story don’t worry we will get this right 💪🏻
To make it even, call ball call pocket and 9 ball last ball
Hey, my man, it's a lovely video yet again. This is a phenomenal idea. Love to see more! Any word on the #PoolLife merch? #MuchLove #PoolLife #HeyPoolFans
Hey andy thanks hope you well
Merch coming we have prototypes looking good
@karlboyes7844 all good here my man. Hope your well? And recovering from 2 weeks in Spain 🇪🇸 🫡💛🤝🏻
Looks like Karl got bijsterbosh off wish
Wow that’s epic hahaha 🤣
@@karlboyes7844 good work Karl. And thank you, good sport, all fun.
I swear when Efren plays average players he just let's them win
It is not in the video but keeping the cue on your chest is the best tip ever. It helps keep a straight stroke and it gets you down on the shot.
True story
My standard game with champs is either 10-6, or 11-7, playing hole.. And I win most of the time..
Stopped watching the moment 9 Ball was mentioned 😂
Do the 14 days with him
In my best British accent...Thot wooz fookin brilliant.
😂 thanks
pros are so good on the positional play, it always takes the pressure off the pots, an average player goes out of position constantly and then makes the shots so much harder
Well said 👏🏼
American 9 ball the absolute bottom rung billiards game
No chance that he will ever beat a top pro in a match! Virtually all amateurs have no idea about just how much better the pros are- vastly superior knowledge, training, skills, competitive mental edge, etc
I miss the old intro video and the song "pool life "
My bad just thought it was a little cheesy hahaha
hes a bit better than a average player for sure
Watch the next episode hahaha
Question I'd like to know. Can a Pro Pool player beat an average snooker player at snooker?
Good Q, what would you class as an average snooker player ?
@@karlboyes7844 a half decent amateur. Someone who could pot close to a century. Maybe a tournament player outside the rankings. Something like that.
8 ball loz go on son!
Adopt me as your average pool player next time :) I promise I'll be as average as I can be!!
🤣🤣🤣
I thought that's Gary Wilson and thought how's Gary not a pro? 😅
😂😂😂
If you ever want to do one of these videos with a jr in America I’m here
Thank you
Is he the same Lawrence Thomason that just drew Mario He in the European open?
Great video, as always but, Jesus, sort the audio out or, if not, just record it in the lavatory, as that's where it sounds that you are.
😂😂😂 we are on it 💪🏻
Don't know about Europe but here in the States there are plenty of Amateur players that are definitely good enough to play on the Pro Tour!! They just have reasons that they don't, like they have Families and can't or don't want to do the traveling!! or they already have very good jobs or own their own business that pays them way more than they could ever make on Tour!! some of the Hustlers just want the anonymity so no one knows who they are and they can get Money games for high stakes!!! - CJ Wiley started that way!! Gabe Owen was an Amateur and won the 9 ball US Open in 2004
Same over here too
I couldn't tell if he was joking when he asked what's jumping a ball about
He’s serious lol.
@@karlboyes7844 oh lol well I guess everyone learns something new every time
I can name a few “average” players who are regulars on the 9 ball tour…yet they would struggle at local open 9 ball tournaments…”average” being under 700 fargo 😂
Billy Thorpe for sure
The player can shoot
eight trick shots in a row...
blow the 9 and lose.
On the other hand...
the player can get
the 9 in on the break...
if the balls spread right,
and win.
*the color of money*
Still true to this day
Niceeee
An average player can beat a pro player, but the average player can’t play like an average player at the time or the pro can’t play like a pro. In other words, the average player has to shoot well above his skill level or the pro has to have a bad day. Also, obviously there is a huge difference in a 1 game match compared to a race to 5, 7, 9, or higher.
half of it is nerves all that shot routine, drilling, strategy go right out the door if you aint got the nerves
After this you need to take a shite pool player LIKE ME ,coach me a bit and see how I do ,just a thought lol
Just discovered the channel
Great content, subscribed.
🤣🤣🤣
rollie williams wya?
Odds are not in the favor that what separates pro from joes
Get some sunblock on that head
😂
Two “average” random folks at my suburban Toronto pool hall beat Skyler Woodward and Wiktor Zielinski in some scotch doubles nine ball.
4-3 final
They sound above average hahaha
Almost convincing???? 😂😂😂
Where is @Rollie Williams? The OG average pool Playa
Retired hahaha
Lol 20 years and don't know what a jump shot is
Karl, Please get proper microphones! Audio is half the experience when watching youtube.
Promise we are, won’t bore you with details of what happened lol
It's kind of hard to define what an average pool player is.
Someone that's not a professional, who doesn't make a living from the game. Just an average guy who plays his mates down the pub etc but obviously has a reasonable game
@@davidmellish3295 lots of "pros" end up with a losing income at the end of the year, and they disappear to sell cars or windows like Mike Dechaine. Some good or great pool players probably quit because they also gamble and end up losing too much.
can he run a table and make balls on the break is the question.
Rollie Williams is the average pool player
what's loz fargorate?
The way he played in this video prob 300 hahaha
the question is what is an average player? I've been playing in club and league for 20 years. have been far from being a pro. but plays a lot better than your example here.
Challenge
@@karlboyes7844 If you're near Bremen, you're welcome. 😊
How average is this guy? Does he have a Fargo?
Probably a 500 hahaha
@@karlboyes7844 totally average!
Pool is the only sport/game when you can be a world champion and simply the best of the best ever and you can still lose to an average player if he's lucky and you're unlucky, no other sports are like that tennis , golf, formula 1 , soccer , an average tennis player would lose EVERY EVERY SINGLE TIME to djocovic 6-0 6-0 maybe maybe he can take 1 game NEVER EVER to win the match or even a set.
I suppose that depends on the race your playing in pool too
@@karlboyes7844 11 and even 15 or 17. And pool is also probably the only sport in the world where pro's can beat eachother 11-0 , doesn't even have to be running lots of break and runs just regular bad luck and bad day and you're the world champion and still lose 11-0.
Can i play the average pool player? 🤤🤤🤤
One day
Sort your audio out man.
No they can’t.
Audio is horrible
Yes it was, our bad
I am a average snooker player, and im way better then this average pool guy
No.
Lol
