I am so envious of you having a stable of bikes to choose from every time you ride. I wish I had your options. Then again, I think I'd feel like I was neglecting my other bikes every time I chose to ride one of their stablemates. ;) Pros and cons either way. Regarding your Beta in the wind, yeah, a taller lighter bike is going to be more affected than a bigger, heavier bike. My 400cc maxi-scooter isn't particularly light (about 470 lbs) and is totally covered in fairing and bodywork, so it gets blown all over the place when it's windy. Just makes it more of a challenge (and fun). ;) The Beta doesn't need to be fast when you have your RC8 to scratch that itch. Loving your vids the more I watch.
It's funny you say that, cuz I always feel like I'm neglecting my other bikes! The biggest benefit is that you don't rack up the miles as quick on any one bike! Thanks for watching bro! I'm glad you're enjoying the vids! Ride safe!
this is the video i was looking for :) dude, it only goes 77 miles on a tank? Thats insane... thats not even 50mpg. I was happy to see that it will cruise easily at 80mph though.
Yeah, it holds 2 gallons, so that's just a bit under 40 mpg! But with the 3 or 4 gallon tank the range would be ok. It cruises good on the freeway, but it doesn't really like it... And I wouldn't use this bike for commuting! Peace!
Love the videos man. I got the 4gal IMS tank for my beta 500, and while it is really wide it does act as a fairing keeping wind off your legs and the extra weight makes the bike feel less twitchy at speed. I love it, but my riding buddies do joke about how goofy it looks :)
I have the same bike and my tachometer was reading like yours (lower rpm than actual - if you were at 3.5k rpm on the freeway that bike would be lugging pretty bad). On the unit go to settings, vehicle sensors, engine PPR and it should be set to 1/2. I had called trailtech after noticing my idle rpm displayed lower than 2k and rpm always displayed lower than I knew it was running at. They told me that Beta frequently forgets to set the PPR setting at the factory.
Eric Petrie Thanks man! I was having the same issue with my bike not registering the correct RPM and this fixed it! I let my dealer know because they couldn't figure it out!
Cool video. My X-Challenge only has a 2.5 gal tank and it kind of makes me crazy. No easy options for a larger tank since it's an under the seat type. I'll keep the MSR bottles until I spec out a Beta with a larger tank. Luckily the BMW gets 50 mpg off road and 60 mpg commuting.
@@drummerdavemax There might be something up with your tach. According to gearing commander, you should be at 6477 RPM @ 80mph with the stock 15/48 gearing. Still quite respectable, but definitely higher than 4000. With the smaller sprocket, 13/48, you should be at 7480rpm, which is pretty close to double what you were seeing on the tach.
My dad and i were riding on saturday and he bumped into me on accident and ive been in the hospital since then i just got home a little while ago i just got some road rash on my left arm and some internal swelling
I think you're right! ...I tried to top it out going downhill on the freeway one time, & that's all I could hit is 99mph! ...is that why? ...so the bike was going faster than 99 then, maybe 105?
@plantpower3048 Yea, having the wheels balanced perfectly and especially putting on street tires makes a big difference, but it still feels like you're going 70 miles an hour on a dirt bike!
@@drummerdavemax My xr650r was pretty smooth, Im gonna test ride this one and the ktm 500 and see!!! Im gonna do a mix of adventure riding and single tracks...

I didn't think about the extra weight! ...that sounds like it would be better for the freeway like that!
got my 2018 beta 500 rrs to 106 was still pulling when i let off

Do a 3.5 gallon and do a 1.25 gallon reserve in the rear up in the rear of the bike.

That's really good mpg! ...Beta gets less than 40 mpg! Peace bro!
Check out the armadillo soft roto pack they sell 1,2and 4 gallons
Hi GotDave?! ;D. 130km/h (81mph) - In my opinion it is a sufficient speed for riding on Beta :). Have a great Sunday Bro! :)
But 99mph (159 km/h) it's really good score :D
I agree with you! ...more than fast enough for that bike! It gets a bit wobbly going that fast! You have a great day too bro! Peace! :D
Bonjour c est avec une beta alp 200cm que vous avez fait la vidéo ? De quel année est elle svp
Merci d avance pour votre retour
It is 2017 model.
Thanks for watching!
what gearing where u running in this video I have 15-48 and I'm debating on dropping to the 45 in the rear
It's the stock gearing ...don't remember what it was. Thanks for watching! Peace!

What motor is this
It's the 500
I have the beta 480 rr and it go to 167 km
Thanks for letting me know! Peace!
What model of Beta is that please ?
It's a 2017 500cc RR-S
Better the ride with some new super moto tires on it!! Your riding on dirt claw and track grabbing tires right now!! Right???
My dad and i were riding on saturday and he bumped into me on accident and ive been in the hospital since then i just got home a little while ago i just got some road rash on my left arm and some internal swelling

@@ausforce1 ...I've got the GPR dampener on my bike, it's all good!
GotDave? Why do you need a steering dampener?
Like yeah like it would like be like nice to like go like a like hundred like miles without like having to like worry about like gas like.
I don't know if to get this or the 390 ....how is the vibration at 70mph?
Feels like a dirt bike ...not as smooth as a street bike

So how damn fast is the bike? In mph not kph. Top speed is???
We may never know! ...speedo topped out at 90 mph, so maybe 100 ?
