    The resource collection nodes exist in GW2 already in the home instance (they aren't new), this is just them porting it over so people don't lose them. You can clear it once a day and invite people to your home instance to collect them too.
    Fun note, they hired a veteran Sims 4 dev to help develop the housing system :D

    Yes, teraforming will not be possible. But if you look how old the engine is and how some structures are designed I think that even if they wanted to, this is impossible to implement and probably not even Devs can easily teraform. We currently assume that with each expansion going forward we will get a new homestead area.
    Lastly you hope that your guildmates can place their alts there. I don't think that this will be included. Maybe they can put statues of themselves though. But! Don't forget: this game already has guild halls. There you have 4 different guild halls which different environment and you can already build stuff like race tracks there. And anet confirmed that this home stade features will also be implemented into guild halls. So you will be able to build your own house inside of your guild halls and at least have statues if all your guild mates there. Don't forget that you can also be inside of 6 different guilds at the same time!

    Not sure why they keep wanting this in MMO's. It didn't go over well in Warlords of Draenor (WoW). It ended up creating the expansion "where nobody ever saw anyone" since they spent all of their time in the game inside their home instance, and you could que everything pvp etc. from there. So Ironforge was empty, Stormwind was empty, and the game felt dead for an entire expansion.
    You'll see. Once you're done with the first few days of the new home thing, you'll realize there's ...nothing to do here. It has some RP potential but for most it will end up being nothing. You don't need a house in a game.

The difference is LOTRO was very good about opening new districts, but you couldn't own more than one home and there were other restrictions that FFXIV should put into place. I like the ESO and Wildstar type of housing too, but it's just not the same as having a neighborhood and being able to see what other's have worked on.

      I hate the neighborhood system because you ARE competing with other plots for space. Good luck if you want to be in a free company on a popular server AND get a house but get screwed over by the lottery/buying system, no house for you and people RARELY give up their houses, ever.
      If we could choose other people's houses to have in a neighborhood for merely viewing, that would be my ideal sweet spot.

    • @rekah8889
      @rekah8889 Před měsícem +1

      There are people who have played ff14 since launch who have tried to have their own plot of land and never could because the original system encouraged botting to grab them so you could sell them for real money on 3rd party sites, and the new lottery system is completely out of your control. It completely blocks a massive portion of the player base from interacting with a whole section of the game. Then If you finally get a plot of land and find that you no longer have time to play due to irl circumstances now you have to fork over the sub to keep it and make sure you interact with the system to not lose it.
      The “neighborhood feel” is nice and all but wow is it not worth it even in the slightest. All the house parties and other social aspects of housing that ff14 feeds off of can be done without it.

    Definitely a “garrison” home like WoW but a nice replacement for Home Instance. However, remember that garrisons were fun for a while (battles with your friends) but as usual, once they were decorated, they were quickly abandoned. Point of MMO is community play. Still, GW2 hasn’t disappointed so I’m looking forward to the new expansion.🤞

      The difference is you couldn't really customize your garrison. Every garrison looked pretty much the same for every player of the same faction. The only differences were what buildings you chose, and eventually 90% of the players picked the same ones because they were the most profitable ones. This is more like a combination of garrisons (personal home instance + gathering nodes both of which existed in GW2 before WoD), and customizability of Path of Exile hideouts. I'm curious if there's gonna be an import/export option like Path of Exile has.
