People misunderstand the meaning of this song. Its not actually about suicide, its about how through the actions of the world, the world itself is committing suicide.
We focus on things that don't matter and we are always trying to gain more control, more money, more power and in the end, that will be the downfall of this world.
"With every war we try to make our kingdom come." Look at all of the bloodshed taking place and over what? Different religions, intolerance of different birth, more oil to fuel the monetary machine.
"We know that nothing is alright and there's nothing left in sight but keep those memories in your mind, we're on our way to suicide." This line says it all. We know that there are problems in the world that we should focus on 100% but instead, we keep going about our business and sticking our heads in the sand. Keep that in mind because you will realize this when the end comes. Whether it be a nuclear war, pollution or simply killing one another in the streets. We are killing ourselves for no good reason and if the world doesn't understand this soon, there will be no going back.
I hope that I've clarified this.
ive looked at it more as people are constantly wanting more, and constantly wanting to be saved. we have wars for no good reason, we just live to die, but if we look at everything like that, we will just kill ourselves to get it over with.
i basically look at this song as a way to tell the truth about life, the truth no one wants to fully embrase.

*sigh* what a terrifying and true statement Chris Pohl sings about. We as a people do live in hate and fear, what we don't understand we ridicule and cast away, driving those who feel like an outcast to seek suicide or dangerous behavior to stop their pain. It isn't about suicide, its about the suicide we commit to ourselves and others every day with our behavior.
