  • The Grand Imam of al al-Azhar shaykh issued a warning this week that Islamic values and heritage were under threat. It's the latest episode in a war of words with Egypt's President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi over who gets to control the oldest and most influential Islamic institution in the world.
    Here's a look back at their rivalry.

If you are not and proud atheist-wannabe, please declare or change your name. It's ok if you don't want to believe, no force in Islam. But if you fight against Islam, the believers will react. Wake up. Your Islamic history was about 600years, your secular period is just about 100, and it is ending. Turkey is your nation. But Islam belongs to everyone. Islam ask us all to unite. • @kirkp-ko8hk

      @@JMP160 Great question 😊. Firstly the texts of Islam are the only authentic religious texts in existence today. They have both authorship and manuscript evidence. So we know what Muhammad claimed. An examination of his claim reveals he was divinely inspired.
      From the Quran, chapter 21 vs 30 to 33. From the Hadith, the hadith of the fly.

    • @kirkp-ko8hk
      @kirkp-ko8hk Před 9 měsíci

      @@JMP160 Without preservation we cannot know what the original message was. So analysis becomes pointless. So establishing the authenticity of a religious claim is a critical first step. And I showed you where you could find evidence of divine origin in both the Quran and Hadith.
      The compilation of the Quran into a standard text was done during the caliphate of Abu Bakr the 1st caliph. This was a year or 2 after the death of Muhammad. That text was then passed down to the 2nd caliph Umar and when he died his daughter Hafsa became the holder of the manuscript. When Uthman became the 3rd caliph the verification process was simply repeated and the resulting manuscript compared to the manuscript that was passed down to Hafsa. Both were found to be identical.
      When it is said a manuscript was compiled under the caliphate of Abu Bakr or Uthman, it does not mean these individuals alone were involved. There were many people involved in the process; people who had also learned directly from Muhammad. So we have reasonable assurance that the Quran is authentic.

    • @kirkp-ko8hk
      @kirkp-ko8hk Před 9 měsíci

      @@JMP160 Yes the Sanaa manuscript is well known. But one simple question? Who wrote it? Books don't write themselves. People write books. So it matters not if you find a book dating to the time period. If it is without authorship, it is hearsay. The people who learned directly from Muhammad are the ones who we take the Quran from and those people are known.
      Plus you are the one advancing the stawman of the preservation of a book as proof in itself. If you read (or understood as the case may be) what I said, you would have seen I said it is the first critical step in analysing religion, not the last.

    People here seems to blame Sisis, but it is actually due to western pressure that Sisi is doing what he is doing. Since he is a "dictator" he has to submit his governing policies to appease the West or else Egypt might get sanctioned.

    Sisi wants to be the head of the state religion. What are his qualifications in terms of the deen?
    Dont his masters in US and Israel talk about separation of state and church? Pretty convenient for him to ignore this because he wants to control how Egyptian muslims think.
