They trained under the same coach its the same style the only difference is the mentality Islam goes for more Submissions while Khabib prioritized ground and pound then went for a Submission.
@@drakeshotplays khabib has so much pressure in octagon while islam is more cautious and calculating. nad yes islam tend to go to submission while khabib seems enjoy to pounding his opponent.
I say this as a big Poirier fan: he 100% does not deserve it, should have to win another 1-2 fights at the minimum but it's like honestly just give it to him since he's free and keep the division active. He's a megastar, people love him, the fight will put up massive #'s and he could very well catch Islam. Don't think it'll happen that way, but there's a chance. No one can strike like Dustin.

Here is the issue with Dustin. In those title fights he was way too cautious and didn’t fight his fight. You can see he made the moment to big in his own mind. Chandler is a great wrestler, BSD a great wrestler. Look at how DP handled them. He just needs to relax.😎 btw, appreciate the conversation even if we don’t agree!

If Islam loses do the other fights like Conor chandler justin Charles olivera armon get Dustin next or would Islam get the immediate rematch if he asks for it. Islam wants to stay active, arguably pound for pound best, says multiple years left, one could say Dustin might defend his title once before retiring two max, same for Justin or Justin could just retire, I don’t see Conor defending if he were to beat Dustin. Would the ufc take the risk of upsetting Islam and khabib and the rest of that group to get the big money fight of Conor and risk losing Islam long term who out of the group of guys is most likely to continue fighting for multiple years. Most likely going up and competing at the higher weight class for multiple years as well. If Islam gets passed up for Conor that could easily cause mayhem in arenas just like the fan vs fan articulations that happened after Conor and khabib. I think the best move would be give Islam the rematch, he’s been active wants to remain active you can rely on him, and idk maybe create another fan belt similar to bmf for Conor and Nate to fight for. Long term Islam ppv sales for the next 4-5 years would bring in more profit especially with the Saudi Arabia fights and abu dabi fights compared to one Conor vs Dustin 4th fight. UFC is walking a thin line here, but considering their ESPN deal and wwe tko deal they are not exactly starving for money. Expanding in Mexico Spain Africa Saudi Arabia France Europe in general the sport is now more global then ever and will only continue to grow.
