Saying "no" to Polish food - that's like a superpower...Well, good luck with that...! Great video, btw.

I'm glad you feel quite happy in Poland. Make the most of what you like doing and don't put off important (for you) things for the future. Being older than you I can give you an example: 2 weeks before the pandemic I was on a cruise to 6 Canary Islands. And, having a drink on the board with some friends I said that. "Well, I'm going to retire in 2 years and finally I'll have time to do what I've always liked doing: travelling. I'll pack a small suitcase, go to the airport and just chose a cheap flight to wherever I wish to go". I spoke 4 languages, now 5, and planning to start learning the 6th in autumn😂Perhaps Norwegian. Ok. And I've been working for good companies for over 40 years (still working on line, I love it, so why not, can't imagine a life without work). Ok, good companies, good salaries, good pension after I retired. No family on my own. Ok, let's start. 2 weeks later the pandemic started and my travelling plans were ruined for 3 years. I went twice, but a travel in those conditions, is not a travel. In the meantime the prices went up and cheap travel is not available anymore. Next, my mother stopped walking and I had to take care of her, from cleaning to carrying her to bed when she fell off her wheelchair. After a while my 3 pets started feeling bad (age and plenty of expensive treatments). A year later my health deteriorated significantly (I didn't know what was a medicine, a doctor or a hospital before). Now I'm taking some treatments, looks like not very serious but still. The worst thing is that I have a big problem with my hip, so walking is a torture, meaning, no more sightseeing while I travel? I'm planning just a package tour to Ireland this July. Last year I was in the UK and could not climb the stairs in some castles. This is how I'm enjoying my freedom I was planning on that cruise ship in Canary Islands😂 Love? It's probably a thing you can't plan, it's like rain, it comes or not. You can't force yourself into a relationship just not to be alone. Like in that Spanish saying "mejor solo que mal acompańado", "better alone than in bad company". Wish you the best❤ Love watching your videos.

Thank you for sharing your story here, the pandemic wreaked havoc on so much of life for so many people, I also had a lot of plans destroyed, especially trips to Ukraine I had hoped to do!
I am sorry to hear about your circumstances and hope your health continues to improve so you can make these trips you want to make in good spirits and without too much difficulty!
Very impressed with the number of languages…and I complain about trying to learn Polish 😅
And with love yes, completely agree, better to wait for the right person than to force yourself into a bad situation 😊

@@britinpoland2392 Thank you. Languages have always been my hobby, and, it is quite easy to learn e.g. Portuguese if you already speak Spanish, Italian and French. With each language it is much easier. Polish is a different story. It's completely different. Good luck with it! Your pronunciation is good enough, and this is very important. Polish grammar is a nightmare, spelling is a double nightmare! I sometimes check up with a dictionary to find out if I write a Polish word correctly.

If you lived in the U.K. you can get a hip replacement quite quickly, in fact, they can do the whole thing in a day. I agree that health is so important. What is the point of having a million pounds in the bank, being able to speak ten languages but having no eyesight?
Actually, I did not find Polish grammar a nightmare, i found it quite easy but the funny thing is that as an Englishman, I found languages such as Dutch and Danish to be far more difficult.

I think it is very important not to compare yourself to others. It is worth being inspired , but that's all. There are people who live intensely and we think that their lives are much more interesting than ours, but it turns out that, for example, spiritually they are at a very low level and almost incapable of deeper reflection.

A very important lesson in life, and something I have to remind myself, we all have different paths and although we may want a better path for ourselves we need to push for that rather than envy others and the way their life has gone

@@britinpoland2392 btw. as for me, language learning is an important stabilizing factor in life. no matter what happens in your life (you lose your job, girlfriend, etc) in language learning you can always count on success (within reason), on observable progress from month to month. it has never disappointed me :)
