Yet what a fine name it would make! I must go through the Deed Pole Office and change my name to Zabkowice Slaskie-think how impressive that would look in my passport at Polish customs! By the way, the town of Zadkowice I have never heard of but slaskie is an adjective meaning Silesia, I was in Katowice not long ago in late June and that is in Silesia also. Slaskie is an adjective in the neuter singular so ja jade ku temu slaskiemu miastu would mean me going towards that Silesian town. Incidentally, how are the Polish language lessons going? 8.28 Again, you have a masculine singular adjective 'stary' plus a feminine singular noun 'kopalnia' so should it be 'Stara Kopalnia?' I have never been there so I do not know but I understand some of the basics of Polish grammar.

I definitely see this trend! I honestly believe that Poland has a lot to be proud of as a country and I love exploring more and more, I would hope to see the whole country over time 😅

Definitely the country is cleaner than most, I’d say most people take pride in not littering and the public services are doing a good job, there are also so many bins here compared with the U.K. for example! I think the corruption is there but is improving, it’s always a tricky subject 😅 As for safety, I think this has to be one of the safest countries in the world, I’ve heard of very little trouble outside of drunken incidents, though no place is completely safe I’ve personally always felt very safe and welcome here 😊

Oh and with alcohol, at least there is the habit to drink juice after a shot…so it’s a little better than the U.K. 😅

@@britinpoland2392 Well from what I've heard this place is crowded quite often due to its popularity especially during summer.

@@michalwandas3743 makes sense, it seems to be one of the main places for tourist groups for sure, when looking at trip options…I was saddened that a lot of the cool sites in Lower Silesia have no tour options 🙁

@@britinpoland2392 Maybe not all the sites are safe for tourists but that's only my assumption. If I remember correctly the Castle was at some point one of Hitler's headquaters during Poland's occupation. The secret nazi Bell project took place not far from there in Riese Complex.

@@michalwandas3743 I have a future video on the Osowka site of the Reise complex, the main issue I have getting to these cool sites is relying on public transport…and it’s not so easy to get to a lot of the cool places in the region 😅

I think I spent about 2/3 nights there, was following recommendations from friends and relying on the tourist map a lot back then 😅 My approach is very different now, I try to mark everything I want to see on google maps before I go now 😁

@@PotatoCannon-fy2sm very much so, there isn’t all this stuff pumped with artificial preservatives like in the U.K., generally you are better off if you can cook here as ready meals aren’t so much of a thing Restaurants are very high quality no matter the cuisine in my experience also

Yes, when I saw the price it sounded a bit high, but for sure it’s actually quite reasonable when you think about how much it would cost to go to a theme park in the U.K. only extra hidden cost was for the lockers, but that was like 14zl for the whole day which again isn’t so bad and only 1zl for the map, felt like a bargain! Of course as expected food and drink is a bit of a premium as well there 😅

Actually historically it was called the Polish Athens, hence the name of the video…not sure if you actually watched the content 😛

Honestly I’m not an expert on immigration to Poland, but I came here to work and had a job first, so finding a job here would be a place to start if you are planning to move. Though I would check the governments official page about moving to Poland first to see requirements

I want to be a hybrid, be able to use the language but keep my identity as a Brit, my roots are still in the U.K. as are my family and that is important to me, yet simultaneously I can embrace my new land and the customs here…improving the language as I go 😅
