    What do you consider to be the BEST Mead in Valheim? Let me know below!

    • @mythicbuilds2951
      @mythicbuilds2951 Před 25 dny +1

      Right now it's probably barley wine. Based on how essential it is vs 2 of the strongest bosses in valheim, and how it negates the downsides of items like the root armor and feather cape.

    I actually had no idea that you could have one of each category of mead active at a time. I assumed from every description I’ve seen that you could literally just have one mead effect active. This makes so much more sense why people are always saying to make more than one fermenter. Now I need to change my home build to make a bit more room

    • @SpazzyjonesGaming
      @SpazzyjonesGaming  Před 29 dny +1

      100% yeah it takes so long for them to ferment and if you're using multiple at the same time you run out quick!

    I'm kind of shocked more people didn't realize tasty meads are so strong. Their stamina regen is great, and there's no cooldown to drink the next one. They're great to drink when you're in a pinch

  • @cjimmersive6955
    @cjimmersive6955 Před 23 dny +4

    I came here for this hot take because I've always avoided tasty mead for its trade-off with health regen. I'll give it another try! A couple notes that I wanted to add: (1) while taking freezing damage in the Mountains, you can't sneak either, so really don't skip on the frost mead, and (2) the medium stamina is better to carry on a sailing trip than lingering stamina. The lingering variety adds a percentage boost on your regen, but your regen is literally 0 when you are swimming, so 25% on 0 is 0. Whereas medium stamina adds a flat amount of stamina back to your bar, allowing you to swim long distances in the event of a boat accident with a serpent.

      I didn't know you can't sneak while taking freezing damage. I learned something today!

  • @360lootgoon3

    I don’t view it in terms of “best vs worst”, I view it as more of a “X situation requires Y stuff”.
    Just like foods, armor, weapons and tools, I bring whatever meads I need to meet the task I’m doing. For example, serpent hunting. I’m not gonna bring health rich foods, a eitr regen mead and wear heavy armor when serpent hunting, which requires max stamina, low stamina use weapons and armor that provides better movement speed.
    Likewise, I’m not gonna bring the feather cape, root armor, max stamina foods and a frost mead to fight Yagluth. Each task has its own set of equipment that is designed for or is better suited for the job.
    Now, with all that said, I absolutely do have a “most used” set, which is magic everything w/ eitr regen mead. Running the plains no longer requires the root chest as the protection bubble completely negates deathsquito attacks. The bubble also negates poison damage from blobs, leeches and greydwarf shamans. The bubble, is king. Now, if I’m off on a mining expedition to the swamp, black forest or mountains, I prefer having stamina and health stuff with whatever resist or regen mead over magic. Just my preference. I know I could probably swap out one eitr food for a stamina food and manage just fine, but I still like to go warrior once in a while, plus all other biomes are a friggin cake walk compared to Ashlands lol. Even Mistlands don’t pose the threat it once did. The worst part about that biome now is just visibility.
    Long winded, but that’s my take on meads. And, other stuff…

    Got to admit, tasty mead is a solid choice. I personally don't think there is a one best mead. But each situation has a good choice for that situation. Sometimes, you want that solid shot of health or stamina, so the lingering isn't always a good choice. But if you are sure you are ready, the boost from lingering meads can be a serious bonus.

    • @SpazzyjonesGaming
      @SpazzyjonesGaming  Před 28 dny

      Good take Rusty. I think you're spot on. Each mead has it's place and has the opportunity to be the best under the right circumstances

    3:01 How do you get the other resistances (I presume from gear) to show up in your Valheim Compendium (or buff window)? I've always thought something like this would be great to have in the game but never could find anywhere that showed it. Wonderful video though! I've been combing through a lot of your vids and your work is *chef's kiss*!

    • @SpazzyjonesGaming
      @SpazzyjonesGaming  Před 7 dny

      Good point. your resistance from the gear you were doesn't show up in the compendium. it would be nice if it did. Compendium only shows status effects applied to you like from meads, rested buff, cold status, wet status, etc.
      Glad to hear you're enjoying the videos! I appreciate the kind words!

    • @joet7136
      @joet7136 Před 29 dny +1

      Yeah. There's no reason for armor and clothing to take up inventory slots. They should make a separate 'doll' to outfit. It would open up 4 to 5 inventory slots.

    • @TheJimCarry
      @TheJimCarry Před 29 dny +1

      @joet7136 I think a patch between now and whatever biome is next we will see an update for inventory management or somthing along those lines. I'm 100% sure they'll implement a change for this.

    Greay video and i do have a question, does the root mask resistence stack with poison resistence mead or is it just useless.

    • @SpazzyjonesGaming
      @SpazzyjonesGaming  Před měsícem +3

      Thanks Sarp! great question. It does not stack. With resistance it will take which ever is highest so if popping a poison resist and wearing the root mask you will get the higher of the two which is from the mead which is "Very Resistant to Poison" reducing damage from it by 75%
