He’s right about Haney! Tonight it was proven. Haney is not a big puncher so you’re never in danger of getting ko’d, he’s not a volume puncher he won’t overwhelmed you, he’s not an awkward fighter like a Kambosos or Ryan Garcia who fight weird and pick shots from weird angles lol… Devin is just very fast, very agile and has a great jab he relies heavily on athleticism and speed and that fades over time.
Haney is like a mix of Andre Ward and Floyd but he lacks the power of pretty boy Floyd and the ferocity of Ward, idk he doesn’t convince me yet but not many people can beat him other than Tank.

Love this comment mate, someone speaking sense. I am a huge fan of Loma and I like what Haney is doing but not the biggest fan but I actually think Haney takes it, he is pretty smart at stepping out of trouble and picking up points. Will be an interesting one! 👍
90% of it going to the judges. I think the judges being fair will be crucial for both guys. Weird shit happens, Linares was up in the scorecards against Loma when he outlanded him in 2/10 rounds only. On the other hand, the Loma-Ortiz fight was quite close and the judges had it like 10/2 and 9/3 for Loma, that was 7/5 or 8/4 at best. Judges are wilding always, in this case being Haney's last Top Rank fight they may slightly favor Loma.

I don’t necessarily think Haney has more skills but the tools he’s working with eg (size) height, reach will make this more difficult for Loma than the Teo fight

Teo’s gameplan went out the window when Loma threw - rd 12 saved Teo the win.
Teo was sharp and more powerful than Haney so this time around Loma should be far more active.
Can’t say who wins but think Loma has a decent chance. 35 is still his prime years, maybe the end of his prime, but he isn’t washed yet.
It’s gonna be a great match up regardless.

- It will be more advantageous for Haney to keep Loma on his back foot (eg Ortiz)
Haney has fought 12 rounds multiple times so I don’t see him gassing like Lopez
- a highly motivated Loma is going all out for legacy so I expect a fast start and strong finish

They told Loma if he dropped his belt and they made him franchise and he beat Teo that he'd be undisputed, which has been his goal all along. Naturally Loma went for that. He said Haney's dad called looking for a fight and Egis said Haney is a prospect with nothing to offer - go get a belt and then we'll talk. In other words, Paulie's point about choosing to fight someone with a belt vs someone without one, holds up. If Loma didn't fight Haney and fought someone else with no belt, then yeah that's a duck. But how tf can chasing more belts be considered a duck?
