Your best vlogs were with the Sony x3000 walking around Thailand buying squid legs from a goat at the local farmers market. You quit eating and almost died and we all saw it in perfectly stable slow motion. It was glorious
Literally scrolling down all the way looking for that video
100%. The best vlogging camera is Thailand.
Remember the hornet…

When I started my channel 5 years ago you were a huge influence on me buying the Sony. Nobody was using it back then but I took a chance after your reviews. It turned out to be a great decision. Cheers dude.
Wow this was unexpected. Nice of you to let him know. Love what you do 👍🏻
This channel together with yours made me buy it now years later as I think it's a camera that is still completely unmatched for certain situations. Love your videos bro!
We are waiting for your Venezuela vlog report...or did you get robbed...?
HOLY SHIT!
@@donflamingo795 dude Casey must not even check his comment section. How has he not even hearted this?!
I was in the middle of a Tony Northrop video discussing common photography mistakes when the notification for this video popped up. I bailed so fast, I ruined their algorithm.

The lightest setup is to have your audience physically follow you. That way you dont even need a camera!... although that might make affiliate links challenging.
waiting for him to move into drone-vlogging
@Andeas1701 Kasey can run across the street and back while everyone in his herd goes into the camera store to buy some stuff
Olympus em1iii wins it. Also, can you teach us to divisiply? Lol.
"It's probably not even accurate, but that, it makes sense." This is why we love Kasey's reviews.
Love the split screen comparisons and extended walk and talk, stroll and rant tests that nobody else does.
The Olympus EM1III clips are by far the most soothing to my nervous system. Something about them just makes it so easy to relax and enjoy the show.
is the em1 iii the same as the om-5?
Every video you make is just amazing 👏 funny, educational and uplifting. Thanks for another one. Much love from UK to TDOT.
You just made me understand 1 inch sensors and it's smaller size counterparts. Your calculations is brilliant. BRILLIANT!!
What about EM1 III with Leica 9mm? I'm still waiting for the test :D
That X3000 clip! LOL! Some expensive kits as you go further down that list.... I agree, the smaller the better. You need to become the vlogging division chief for some company and steer that ship my friend! Have a rockin' Friday!
Now THIS is GOOD QUALITY CONTENT. Toneh Rating A+++
man you hyped me up like crazy with save the day by nikon. maybe i understand now the emptiness you experience in this camera game.
love your content ✌🏻
It's great that you narrowed down the choices for us. 😮
Great list, love the X3000 (though ours is slowly losing its stab.) but would have replaced the EM1 3 with the OM5 (pretty much just a scaled down version of EM) and saved 166 grams to roughly same weight (540 ish) as the Z30, but with real stab. Think the GP is the winner here though.
I live for your vlogs man, for real🤣🤣!! So much so, I keep watching all your vlogs and I haven't vlogged in 3 mos 🤦🏾♂️🤣.... I suck 😔!!
speaking of audio, your audio is so much better than a couple of months ago.
Phone drops frames or is jittering. That’s what I’m seeing. Love the vids. I’m subscribed to all three of your channels!!
16:32 That name is quite funny, I often eat it and I love it.
Dunno why it has that name, but it's a common name for that vegetable.
Great list 👍
Have you ever wanted to try a insta 360? X3 or one inch not sure if they are vlog friendly. Was curious about your thoughts.
My gopro11 coming on monday :)
I hope your videos didnt fail me :)
of your outside vlogs, i always prefer the gopro 11. it looks the best in my opinion, and i like that you get so much of the surroundings. I don't care about Toneh.
Zv1, go pro 11 are my favorites.
The lens mod for the Zv1 is legit okay.
That's a great, great rundown of all cameras that can be used for vlogging. No one else put it so straightforward. Thanks homie. I would go with the ZV E-full frame wanna be A7Siii coming out next week that will be light and will be a big seller, praised by CZcamsrs everywhere. I would also consider the Canon R8 for the weight and features or the Panasonic GH6 because it really is the cinema and I have one
Regarding your question to ideal weight to cost: Fuji X-S10. Good general features, affordable and lightweight lenses and also food for photography.
Im waiting to your vlogging test with r8 24mm f1.8 and comparison with kit lens 🔥🔥🔥
great video. 👍
Vlog on the way to the groceries, good idea sir 👍
Jeez. As I’ve written before I don’t do video. Ever. Since my first iPhone in 2008 thru today I can count on one hand how many times I’ve used video. I hate video. Period. But I NEVER miss your show! I love you, my spouse hates you because I laugh out loud while she’s trying to sleep.
The DJI Osmo Pocket 2 at 117g is legit too. Can't wait for a 3...
What about the OM SYSTEM OM5 or Olympus E-M5 iii with the 9mm f/1.7 coming in at about 580g? I know for a fact it beats the G95.
For smartphones, why do you only recommend the Huawei p40 pro?
Currently, the smartphone collaborates with Leica, carl zeiss, and Hasselblad (Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi). Why do you not recommend that phone?
I am just curious about the reason
Really solid list -- definitely seems in line with what we have learned here. I have to say the gopro vlogs are kinda ugly though. Even the x3000 had a lot more nostalgic charm and looked a fair bit better somehow. The gopro video is just ugly unless it's a really nice day out maybe. Totally get wanting to feel free out there though, but yeah -- the Huawei phone vlogs Win for that probably. Of course we probably all miss the olympus and seeing some of the bigger cameras on the list. Always appreciate when you bring the cinema.
Miss the obvious every time C100 mk ii, sure it's a beast but it has "cinema camera" right in the name!!
My only question: How the F do you keep a straight face? Pure genius.
Have you ever tried an ND or polarising filter on your phone? All you need is a step down adaptor and phone clip, pretty cheap. Great results in harsh sunshine. Probably.
4hd I like the Panasonic G7 with the 12 -32🎉 it is amazingly light
I’ve vlogged with my iPhone, x300 and DJI action 2 and 3. I think the action 3 beats x3000 nowadays
Yer turnin out to be my favorite dude for reviews...AND....you have a doppelganger in the US....."ronniefit" he does gun stuff. So ya both shoot.🤙😎🤙
I think the R8 with RF 16mm is the winner here it only weighs 626 gr thats less then the G85 with the Leica 9mm (635 gr)
Great video and awesome insight. I'm debating on which one to grab especially when I'm out snowboarding. The XT-4 was great but the 16-55mm kit lens is a tad heavy.
@Action Xander Isn't snowboarding exactly the kind of thing action cams were made for? Or a 360 if it's sharp enough once you crop to the part you want.
@@editingsecrets I mostly use the DJI Action 3 and the GoPro Max. But I also want some nice B-roll of peaks/golden hour/sunsets and even other riders as they come down some gnarly stuff. I love adding a little cinema to my content
@@ActionXander Oh I can see how a bigger camera would be nice for those shots. If you don't have to take it up the run with you, you could get something bigger to just use around the lodge or as other people arrive at the base of the hill. Your B camera could be for what makes the cinema yours, even if you wouldn't want to slide down the mounain with it.
@@editingsecrets Yeah I've played around with my workflow and experimented. Like you said, taking it at the lodge area/end of some runs/terrain park is the best... But if I wanna get to the summit and maybe get some sick shots of my friends or other riders sending it... That's where I'm thinking about getting a decent downsized mirrorless for.
EM1 III is the cinema here but, gopro11 and pocket 2 are winning ease of use/features combination.
The weather balloon cam, yea.
Small is good. Bang for the buck is also a consideration and, mostly, small is cheaper too!
I would say that the R8 with the RF 16mm F2.8 could be better, since the R8 doesn’t have IBIS, it won’t suffer from canons terrible wobbles in the corners, and just turn on digital stab, which is very good in Canon, since the 16mm is very wide, the crop won’t affect that much.
That would be a nice solution ! I know that the kept the size compact, but I would suggest the new sony zv e1 that comes with a bigger battery offering better quantities
@@glpro2696 I mean sure, that camera wasn’t announced when I commented but I would still insist on the R8 it’s still cheaper with $700 difference in price compared to the Sony and I know it might be slightly better in IQ, DR and weight but there is no 16mm f2.8 equivalent lens in e-Mount that’s the size, weight and price of the RF version, you would have to get a bigger heavier lens for the ZV-E1 and then the camera’s weight advantage becomes irrelevant, and obviously the lens would be more expensive so to me, at the end of the day, the R8 is still the better option.
@@AndyLSB you're right.I think with the inclusion of the rf 35mm 1.8 that would be perfect 👌...also even though the r8 doesn't have IBIS,I think they've done a pretty good job with the image stabilization
@@glpro2696 couldn’t agree more 👌🏻 that RF 35mm is beautiful !
Dji pocket 2 ,zv1 ,panasonic s5 Ii...and xioami 13 pro ultra as a phone companion ...apple 14 max
It's astonishing that you still avoid the Insta360 cameras. They have everything you need. The latest X3 has an selfie mode where the camera keeps the operator in frame all the time. Re-framing in post isn't needed. In this mode, the camera delivers an mp4 file that can be used directly. It is possible to attach a Rode wirless go to get really good sound. Also the re-framing in post allow to just film the VLOG and to show all kinds of things happening left and right.
I still have the Sony X3000 but the 360 cameras are much better for this kind of usage.
The problem with the Insta360 cams is that every time I post on CZcams the footage looks awful. I've had 3 different 360 cams and really think 360 is the future, but and it's a big but, they are not there yet. The resolution and codecs have to improve. Instead of 5.7k, they need to be 12k capture. Good luck with that, but it will happen.
I see the "three-banger" and the production trucks, wonder what they're shooting?
I thought it was just here in the UK we chopped and changed between metric and Imperial measurements to suit....but glad to see our Commonwealth Canadian cousins do the same.
@Matt Bugr Give a block an inch and he'll take 450 grams. Or something like that. As an American I don't know my furlongs from my fortnights.
insta 360 go 2. Get a clippy thing mounted to your glasses. it will look silly and content would be suspect. Yet it would be original and very light.
thank you
Its a good point about using P40 @ 1080p, and not 4k. As phones cant really do 4k, so there is just a lot of shaperning added to hide the low optical performance.
So what's the weight of that lamp post?
You really should fully test the Z30 it is quite a bit better than the Z50. The Z50 needs firmware or a replacement. The Z30 has Wide (L People) which lets it track eyes in a medium sized box, which is the crutch Nikon's AF needs. You can stick a Sony 15f1.4G (has smooth or indexed aperture) on it with the megadap2 adapter. The 26f2.8 pancake is a pretty decent lens if you monetized a viral video. You could do worse. LOL
I'm enjoying my OLD A7C + 20-40f2.8. It should have made your list with your favorite Sony lens.
Im afraid to even ask but, what about Insta 360x3?
85/1.8, but record breaking small and lightweight, with decent AF speed, that's the crazy lens I'd like Canon to come up with
Sony ZV-1F + GoPro 11 is my current setup. A two camera system that weighs under 1 pound. I've experimented with several cameras and always come back to this type of system: action camera and compact. The ZV-1 was good but I prefer the simple build of the ZV-1F with no moving parts since I will eventually drop it.
The GoPro is perfect for handheld shots including vlogging and I don't have to worry about water, dropping it in snow etc. The Sony is for locked off shots and is pretty good in low light.
There will always be compromises. Weight is very important for what I do.
Good list I like cell phones
I moved to Insta360 one Rs - me I’ve used GoPro, Sony mirrorless, Panasonic m43, GoPro, iPhone. And I’ll likely switch back to something else soon!
Sigma fp only weighs 370 grams and shoots in 12-bit full-frame raw. That's what vloggers need.
Sony ZV-E10 with the Sony 16mm 2.8 pancake is like 410g.
But you need to catalyst browse your way through the streets cause otherwise you deal with the ungodly crop.
But it’s the GoPro/Action 3 that does it for me. Both super easy to use, and great for viewers with its stabilization and wide angle.
lol gopro sucks at exposure. and dji action 3 looks blurry and stabilization is like being in a boat at sea
@@kllaskas810 insta?
At first, I thought Top 16? But considering how many companies there are out there - I'll go with it.
The g95 is PROGRAM AUTO only in 120fps. Absolutely no control over PASM. Exposure comp only, and I believe the g95 might be the only model like that.
Gh5, g9, g100 all have PASM available. G100 also AFF, AFC, AFS, all modes of Auto Focus, in 120fps!
I tried the Insta 360 One R yesterday on a vlog. Destroys my Fx3 and 6600 in stabilization.
Nice video!!
Wich one u prefer? Fuji XT4 or Canon R8. for an hybrid use. I really apreciate your answer
R8 but you have no lenses
The weight for the DJI Pocket 2 seems heavy at 244g. So I checked. B&H lists it at only 117g. Are you including some accessories you didn't mention?

Info for those who don't hate on the Sony ZV-E10:
The Sony ZV-E10 with Sony 11mm f1.8 is 524g and goes between the GoPro 11 and Nikon Z30 with 16-50. OR ZV-E10 with 16-50 kit zoom is only 459g which is quite a lot lighter than the Z30.
I chose the most exciting options for each system, cameras I would buy myself.
I'd go with a GoPro or Smartphone for vlogging.
❤❤❤❤❤
The lightest camera for vlogging and great indoor results is probably the g7x still. So many girls on youtube still use this camera and it's because it makes them look more beautiful (canon colors and f1.8 lens) and small so they can keep in their purse. For travel optimized weight/versatility maybe a lumix camera with the 14-140 lens + small prime lens for inside. Gopro for action, the star lapse/night lapse is really great on it. However maybe now insta x3 is better for some sports like skiing as it can show the full body.
So you don’t like Sigma FP?
have you tried free motioncam app that records raw video ?
R8 is unbelievabely light for its features, but it has a serious drawback -- batteries from m50
p. Some would say its enough for a 1hr of shooting, but i doubt it given that an R6\R6mkII with twice the battery capacity only lasts for about 1h20m

Hey Kasey how you going.
I love your video! In terms of low weight and great cinematic image, I would humbly suggest the Samsung nx500? From this video it appears that the winner is the olympus. ..but, strangly, in other recent videos you always bash on olympus systems? Does it make any sense? I am quite confused?
EM1 III takes the cake but it's behind in video specs of the competition.
The best is a $260/320 Honor x70 outside & $350/400 ZV1 inside..you didn't mention the super light Nikon Z9...or Sony xxx with stabe in name only..RX100 great as long as you don't move... otherwise P40 pro or P50 pro $300/500..Xiaomi 12 ultra not bad in less light but currently $650/700.. approaching A7 S3/ Panasonic 5 MK2 GH6 price..not sure but new cameras probably run $1000 or so..who would buy one knowing it needs a way over priced lens too..when for way less than $1000 you can buy the best studio camera..for under $400 and save on lights because either you want to be able to see the screen or have bright lights..all cameras are crippled to guide content creators towards today's excellent camera phones costing a fraction of the price of a classic camera
All we really want is a full frame x4000
After nikon z30 u add Fuji xt200 u hear!!!XT200!!!

Canon R8 + 24mm F1.8 jumps over the lazy dog.
A7S III and 200-600 all day long.
Sony ZV-E10 with 11mm F/1.8 lens is 524 OZ making it the lightest and widest APS-C vlogging setup. Using the digital stab on the cam, this makes it essentially a 16mm APS-C or a 24mm Full frame equivalent with the crop. Or, you can use Catalyst Browse (so good but it's an extra step) at a 10% crop and you get 12mm APS-C or 18mm full frame equivalent. The 1.8 aperture makes it viable in lowlight. GoPro is not much better than a cellphone but I have one for all-purpose use in good lighting. I use my cellphone when I don't have anything else, and break out the ZV-E10 for lowlight scenarios. Yes, it gets warpy but you can fix that with Catalyst. With anything else in its size and price range, you can't fix the compromises of lowlight performance or not being wide enough and might as well stick to your cellphone and/or Gopro, in my opinion.
You new? He hates catalyst browse and he's already tested that setup.
@@josukeuchiha I know. He hates catalyst, warpy corners and doesn't mind having a mile long selfie stick. I tried one and didn't mind it, but it led to more instability. Maybe because I don't have monkey strength on my wrists.
Your setup has no stabilization unless using the 45% digital crop or spending hours every vlog using catalyst browse. You're not aps-c anymore...
@@cameraconspiracies true but better than the Nikon z30 in lowlight since it has no lightweight wide lens. Maybe viltrox 13mm f/1.4 but quite a bit heavier so might as well go up to the Fuji xs-10 but who wants to be in that ecosystem.
Hi great video. I would have chosen the Fujifilm X-S10 with the XC 15-45mm lens which is lighter than the XF16mm f/2.8 and has OIS. This is the better option from Fujifilm for vlogging.
It's a shit lens. I've tried both and you won't notice any better stabilization, only the worse image quality.
