    Those little black vevor (go by many different brand names) are setup with a false pressure switch and pressure gauge.
    I found this out because my pressure switch failed and I bought a random replacement online that matches the exact specs, 90 off and 120 on. Upon switching it on, it never shut off and the pressure gauge pegged past the final reading of 180 psi. At first I thought I bought a faulty pressure switch, but then I hooked the pressure witch up to my full sized, garage compressor and it broke continuity at exactly 120 psi, as advertised. I then removed the pressure gauge from the vevor compressor and also hooked it to my garage compressor. At 120 psi, it pegged it again well past 180 psi.
    After doing all the calculations, I found out that the original pressure switch that comes on it is a 70psi Off and 50 psi on. Vevor obviously puts a fabricated gauge on and the pressure switch has the label missing that tells you the on/off psi.
    I also put the new gauge on the vevor to see how high it could actually compress and it could not go higher than 115psi...a far cry from the 150psi max rating, they claim.

  • @salcigar
    @salcigar Před 2 lety +1

    You're in danger of fire. Your wires are too thin. 10 ga is good 8ga would be better. Run fuse right off the battery, run that to a 30 amp relay. From the relay to the compressor. The relay has four pins, if you need help I'll tell you how to wire it. The compressor draws a lot of amps and will melt wires, I don't want that to happen to you.

    • @salcigar
      @salcigar Před 2 lety

      @@SimpleSickBuilds I should have just shared this in my first comment. Go to your local auto parts store and buy two things. The first is a 4 pin 30 amp relay. Second is a heavy duty fuse holder and a 30 amp fuse. First disconnect battery.
      The relay has 4 pins, connect your new fuse to pin 30 with the other end connected to the battery. Pin 87 goes to the positive wire on your compressor, heavy gauge wire should be used to do this. Pin 86 is where you will bring in the positive wire from your switch. Finally pin 85 is your ground.
      Good luck and happy new year.

    • @salcigar
      @salcigar Před 2 lety

      Final thought. If you connect a T-fitting with an air chuck to the brass fitting that sends air to the horns you will create an on board air system. You can use this to inflate your tires. Always use this with the engine running.
