  • All to often, when doing maintenance on our vehicles, we over look an Item that helps up breath cleaner, better quality air in our cars. I'm talking about the Cabin Air Filter, sometimes referred to as a Pollen Filter.
About the Only time that Filter ever crosses our mind is when were at the Dealership having other work or maintenance performed.
Dealer make a lot of money on this item and more often than not, they trick you into replacing it while your at their facility.
Dealer charge anywhere from $69.99 to $100.00 to change this filter and it's something that you can do at home for around $20.00.
IN this video, I'll show you how it's done on my 2018 Dodge Challenger but the process is really easy on any vehicle. All you need to do is look in your Vehicles Owners Manual to find out where it's located and how often it should be replaced.

These filters are a pain to get them in place, super tight space. Thanks for sharing though.

glad i checked mine after the fact and noticed they showed me a main air filter half the size as mine and saying it was my cabin air filter, i will never let Petterson Dodge in nampa idaho change my filters again i had a feeling they where lieing to me this whole time since for some reason they wanted to change my filters every single oil change, if it wasn't for my life time oil change i would never take it back there. Edit they even had it facing the wrong way.

You're right, very commonly overlooked. I honestly drove for years before I ever learned that cars had these. But I've also had cars that didn't. I do all my own maintenance so I rarely deal with service departments, but anyone that does crap like that should be fired,or the shop put out of business if they condone it. They make it so much worse for the honest advisors and shops out there.
