    It's been quite a few years since my last Finito highlight so I thought now would be a good time to make a new one! Ricardo Lopez is one of the best examples of a boxer who perfected his craft, his ability to switch from offense to defense was sublime along with his incredible footwork and IQ. Truly one of the Mexican greats who never quite got the recognition he deserved during his career. El Finito 51-0-1! www.patreon.com/haNZAgod

    As much as I loved Pernell Whitaker and Roy Jones Jr. when the P4P race was going on between those two I would tell ppl back then that Ricardo Lopez was right there with both of them. Excellent boxer with great fundamentals and technically sound. You can also see the similarities in styles between himself and Juan Manuel Marquez both trained by Nacho Bernstein.

      Finito was originally trained by Cuyo Hernandez. Switched to Berestein after Cuyo died. I do think Berestein perfected that jab he had tho. I dont know if you know this, but Nacho teaches his fighters to throw the jab without turning your fist like a normal person would do. So it kind of looks like the rock em sock em robots jab. If that makes sense. I started jabbing like that a year ago and I get alot more power and speed behind it.

      @@profjhonortega4273 I'm from the USA. Their's some truth behind your statement. Most casual and even so called boxing fans don't even know who Ricardo Lopez is. I, myself, did not know he wasn't originally trained by Nacho so its good to have that knowledge. After hearing of Arturo Coya I didn't know he trained so many great fighters.

      @marcelomedina833 Před rokem

      @@albertozepeda1939 it’s probably mental. But from a physiological standpoint you will 10/10 times generate more power and speed from your jab by rotating your shoulder inward. The shoulder rotation of the punch is what gives it more speed and transfers more power effectively. Vertical jabs are definitely more useful when trying to punch through an opponents guard. Don’t rotate your fist when punching. The punch should start from your shoulder rotation and by default your fist will turn over 👌🏽💯

    One of the greatest Mexican boxers ever (he is my #1). He was not that well known likely because he fought minimum weight. But lets look at some numbers here. 51-0-1, and his only draw he fought again for a victory. He was 27-0-1 in title fights with 21 won by Knock Out which is incredible for any boxer even more for a 105Lb guy. During his title years he fought about 3 times per year. He had speed, ability to crack defenses, jab and power punch. I think he is the most perfect boxer I have ever seen.

    People don't even know my man Lopez and he's possibly one of the Goats in all weight classes but 100% he was the goat of his weight class he was years more advance and others even today haven't been able to do what he did how he did it he was like Loma, roy Jones, floyd Pac he could do it all from the crazy counters headmovment footwork and he could smash you from inside and out preferably he smashed guys from the outside but that's crazy because although he was the best outside boxer at what he did his inside boxing was not any worse in fact some would argue he was even better on the inside he would break you down and smash fuck out of you after making you change your lead foot with tricky slips and head movement genuinely the closest thing to his footwork today is Loma the closest thing to the counters I seen was floyd the closest thing to his head movement toy Jones I ain't saying any of them boxers are exactly like him but rather Lopez had so many styles all them guys have 1 style Lopez has them all. Like Ali he was an outside boxer Tyson an inside boxer but Lopez was the best all around boxer with insane speed and iq and by speed I mean it's like he knew when to let his hands go like he had ultra instinct most fighters need to feel things out and find rythem and timing to let there shots go Lopez would just thriw something and know what to do it's like his eyes seen faster it's like his body and twitch muscles was faster than anybody else. Like i don't have words to explain what I mean but even some of the greatest of all time never could just set up multiple hit combos so fuild and easily while being so lucid and having there next move ready it's almost like he would his soul to the devil. It's sad that this man isn't talked about he's surly in talks if not the goat
