There is a hell of alot of symbolism in this show if you know what to look for, from Lucifer always consuming something to even Eve and all her apples in every scene, this show is so much more than people think it is

Season 4 maze is so, so soft. Between her falling for Eve, her overprotectiveness of Linda and Charlie, and wanting to make it right with Trixie, we can see how much she’s really grown. I’m so glad she’s able to allow herself to have emotions after her mental breakdown in season 3. She’s come a long way:’) (also you can see the moment in maze’s eyes when she finds Eve in the crowd and her eyes stay locked on her for the rest of the song… brb I’m gonna cry again)
It was this scene that made me realize that Eve doesn’t know what love is. She was literally made for Adam a relationship without foundation. She wanted Lucifer, a relationship he only saw as physical. Maze truly wanted to love her and it was something so new to her she didn’t know what it was she was seeing.

Her interactions with Eve and any moment with Trixie scream that to the high heavens and Lesley-Ann Brandt shows it with such a brilliant subtlety. Small expressions of apprehension, relief, and disappointment paint a wonderful picture of Maze.

I'd like to believe that that can happen to demons if they spend long enough out of Hell and forging emotional connections with people.

If you ever been through this, I'm sorry, but congratulations, you have a heart, you're a truly alive. So, this makes wonder if Maze isn't slowly and gradually becoming human, developing a soul or something close to it, to counterpoint the idea that demons don't have souls and just vanish after dying. I think and really hope so.
