Congratulations, you have just discovered one of the greatest voices of all time. I know that gets said a lot about many artists but she truly is in a class of her own. She was the first female artist to sell out stadiums, that is how good she is and how many hits she had! She dominated the 70s and it confounds me how she escaped the newer generations. She had 38 top 100 singles, that is EPIC! Listen to Blue Bayou and Desperado for starters.

Linda Ronstadt comes from an Arizona family of Mexican and German descent. This performance is from 1970 but she had a long career (hundreds of songs on CZcams). She had (IMO) the most beautiful voice in popular music. Listen to 'Adios'.

This song always brings tears to my eyes, but your lovely reaction, Maureen, really increased the flow! I've been a fan of Linda's for 50 years - one of the great vocalists of all time. She was blessed with incomparable talent that she worked and honed and polished her whole career - always seeking perfection and getting as close to it as anyone ever has. You can't go wrong anywhere in her discography... lately I've been revisiting her Mexican Mariachi songs and she simply blows my mind - all over again ❤

This is one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite singers. You really can't go wrong With Linda Ronstadt. Truly you could select any of her many, many songs at random and get a stellar performance but here's a few recommendations: Blue Bayou, Tumbling Dice, Desperado, Silver Threads and Golden Needles, Someone to Watch Over Me, When You Wish Upon a Star, When Will I Be Loved, I Guess It Doesn't Matter Anymore. There are many more absolutely fantastic songs by her. Please explore her more.
