    All of this is absolute facts. I haven't been able to stand Lebron since high school. He's always been a freakish athlete but an incomplete player to me. He has no post game, he lacks in fundamentals, his free-throw shooting as a superstar is abominable, his shooting as a whole is inconsistent and he's a poor on the ball defender. His stats are overrated because of how much the NBA has changed philosophically.
    We as a society have embraced a losers mentality when it comes to our athletes. We give out second-place trophies now when previously, the losers got no shine. In what world is a player considered the GOAT when he loses more than he wins? When he's constantly out-shined in big spots. How can a player be recognized as a player that makes others better, when his teammates are constantly singled out for under-performance? In what way does he make them better? Can someone please answer these questions?

    That 2010 Celtics team gets so underrated these days. It wasn't just a big three superteam. It was a complete team - Pierce, KG, Ray Allen, Rondo, Sheed, Tony Allen. They would grind you down for 48 minutes. Absolutely beastly on defense. Not just the top ranked defense that year but one of the all time great defensive teams. And don't forget, this was the same team that made Lebron quit and take his talents to South Beach.

      No Celtics were out of prime and Ray Allen became a liability on Defense and started to complain when the Celtics took him off the court in favor of Allen and Avery Bradley when those defensive grind moments of a game were needed. Always hated him for it cause the Media painted him as a victim when he had Jr/Melo mood swings but that fact got clouded when he went to Miami. Celtics fan here and I will tell you. Reason why Ainge went a younger route with this current team is because he doesn't want to have just 2-3 maybe seasons of championship contention with aging stars with injury being a real issue. So no the Celtics were never a super team just a team with a lot of grit, heart, and flare ups of talent. Just too old

    True. Some of Shannon's fandom does seem like an act, but I've also noticed that more often than not he gets caught up emotionally to a feminine level when making his arguments, to the point of making high-pitched whooping noises like some swooning fangirl when LeBron's accomplishments are brought up. Nick Wright gets angry and personally offended when LeBron's failures are discussed, anytime someone offers even the smallest criticism, he gets triggered, and don't bring up Durant or the Warriors, he really goes off then. At least Shannon has his football knowledge to fall back on, Nick Wright's whole career was built on his LeBron fandom.

    LeBum has done some amazing job of carrying his team, but other people have done it in better fashion. He has not done anything special. Some people think his 2007 Finals appearance was something unheard of, but this is not the case, especially considering that he had a top 5 defense in the league that year??. On top of that, Lebron in 2007 played in the weakest Eastern conference in recent memory??
    He beat two .500 teams, the Wizards, with Arenas and Butler injured???????and the Nets, and the Pistons with no 4x DPOY Ben Wallace. There are several players I could replace LeBron with who would still make it to the Finals with that team in that weak conference, ??and quite a few who could have beaten the Spurs in the Finals with that 2007 Cavs squad. The fact that the Pistons made it to the ECF shows how weak the East was post-2006. The Pistons got rid of their best rebounder, rim protector, and overall defender (4x DPOY - tied for an NBA Record) and still had the Number 1 seed in the 2007 East ??and made the Conference Finals in 2008 while beating no notable teams.
    The 2007 Pistons were still top 2 in ppg allowed after losing Ben Wallace, but the 2006 Pistons allowed 1.6 less ppg than the 2007 team. However, this was due to the fact that the East had much weaker offensive teams than the West??with the East only having 1 team average 100+ ppg (Wizards) compared to the West's 8 teams with 100+ ppg. Only 20 of the Pistons' 82 games came against teams that averaged 100+ ppg for the season, so their defensive numbers post-Wallace don't accurately reflect the quality of their defense as they were playing sub-par offensive teams for over 3/4 of the season?????????
    On top of that, the 2007 East was weaker than the 2006 East as well, which is why LeBron was able to beat two 0.500 teams to make the ECF. Playing in a much weaker conference than the 2006 Pistons on top of playing the weakest teams in the league far more often allowed the 2007 Pistons to not suffer as big of a statistical drop-off in their defense following Ben Wallace's departure, though they fell from 64 to 53 wins. It is clear that the Pistons clearly missed Ben Wallace's presence when LeBron was waltzing down the lane at will in the 2007 ECF??
    Not to mention they never made the Finals after their Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown left??It's not a coincidence that as soon as Brown left, the Pistons never made the Finals again after winning the title in 2004 and losing a close Game 7 in 2005 against the Spurs. The first year after Brown left, the Pistons went from shutting down Kobe to 38% ??in the 2004 Finals and Wade to 48% ??shooting in the 2005 ECF (pre-Game 5 injury) to allowing 62% ??shooting from Wade in the 2006 ECF under Flip Saunders. Add the departure of 4x DPOY Ben Wallace after 2006 and it's not that big of a deal to have beaten that washed up 2007 team.
    2007 - Lebron has a top 5 Cavs defense that held down Duncan to 45% in Finals after 55% in regular season
    * Lebron beat bum 41-41 Wiz with no Arenas/Butler - injuries?
    * LeBron beat bum 41-41 Nets with post-injuries Vince Carter?
    * LeBron beat washed up Pistons who lost their best defensive player?
    * They got rid of 4x DPOY Ben Wallace before the season started, and who LeBron couldn't beat in 2006 when he was still on the team??
    * The Pistons had the best record in the league in 2006, at 64-18. When Ben Wallace left and was replaced with post-ACL tear Chris Webber, they fell to 53-29. Talk about weak competition???????
    * There's a reason the Pistons never made the Finals as soon as Hall of Fame Coach Larry Brown left after 2005, or without 4x DPOY Ben Wallace after 2006.
    Then LeBron got exposed by the only real team he played??the 2007 Spurs - 36% shooting, 6 turnovers a game, missed game-tying shot in Game 3,??and 2/6 FT in Game 4 ??as the Spurs only won by 1 point. The surprising thing is that 3 of the 4 games were decided by only single digits despite LeBron's poor play - thanks to the Cavs defense. Even Deron Williams averaged 26-4-8-2 on 53% against the same Spurs defense in the 2007 WCF??so there's no excuse for LeBron to have played as poorly. The only player who showed up for Deron Williams in that series was Carlos Boozer, and Boozer was only good because Williams created his offense for him. Boozer has only once averaged over 15 ppg in a playoff series without Williams, when he had 17 ppg against the 2013 Nets in the first round.
    LeBron wasn't really carrying 2003-2010 Cleveland when he led them in the playoffs. He just feasted on the weakest playoff teams ??while playing in Cleveland. When he played good playoff teams, he couldn't carry Cleveland anywhere. LeBron only beat one 50-win team?? in the playoffs during his time in Cleveland from 2003 to 2010, and that was against the 2007 Pistons with no 4x DPOY Ben Wallace and no HoF coach Larry Brown. Every other team he beat had less than 50 wins. LeBron's supposed ability to carry Cleveland only lasted in the regular season.
    As you can see, LeBron never was able to carry 2003-2010 Cleveland past any notable teams in the playoffs. This puts a HUGE asterisk next to the perception that he "carried" Cleveland, as he beat ZERO elite teams ?in the playoffs with Cleveland. He didn't carry them past anyone notable. People complained about how weak his 2003-10 Cavs team was, but the only competition that LeBron beat from 2003-10 was even worse bum competition. Even in Miami, his East competition was very weak, in 2013 for example he beat 0 50-win teams ?before making the Finals. LeBron has had it laughably easy in his era.????
    For comparison
    - 27 of Jordan's 37 playoff opponents had 50+ wins (73% of them).??
    - Kobe had to play four 50-win teams in each of the 2001, 2008, 2010 Playoffs??
    - Hakeem had to play four 57-win teams in the 1995 Playoffs and 3 50-win teams in 1994 with 0 all stars / 0 Hall of Famers helping him in the 1994 run.??
    Seeing as LeBron only beat one 50-win team with 2003-2010 Cleveland, and a very weak 50-win team as the Pistons had no 4x DPOY Ben Wallace and no Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown,???it's very safe to say that he would have never been able to carry Cleveland anywhere against real competition where the majority of playoff opponents had 50+ wins. On the other hand, it's safe to say that legends like Hakeem, Jordan, etc. would have had a much easier time carrying Cleveland against the weak playoff opponents LeBron faced???????
    Kobe is at BARE minumim TOP 10, and the reason I despised Lebron so much is because he failed to fulfill the TRUE prophecy of facing Kobe in the finals in the 2009-2010 season. (This is something you don't hear alot, people always talk about Lebron's biggest shortcomings against the Dallas Mavs, but that's not his biggest shortcoming) It's actually him failing to beat the Orlando Magic to FINALLY FACE KOBE in the finals. In fact, they had a better record than the Lakers that season, and this bum loses to Dwight Howard??? (They were promoting Lebron and Kobe muppets, the media was so sure they were going to meet) After that, the Magic got handed a 4-1 L, but I lost alot of respect towards Lebron after that. Despite what stats say, I know for a fact Kobe IS better then Lebron, and had they met in the Finals, I gurantee the Lakers would've blasted them the same way they did the Orlando Magic, and the debate would finally be over between those two, because I could always say "Kobe beat Lebron in the finals" lol
    Stats w/o context is pointless, and that is what alot of this new generation of basketball fans don't understand. Stats don't measure Intagibles...

    10:30 Dawg I’m not a Kobe fan but I can’t stand the 3-1 lead argument and the game 7 argument. Kobe shot under 20 shots 3-4 times in that 7 game series which helped get them that 3-1 lead in the first place. He dropped 50 in game 6 and they said u can’t win that way. He goes back to the way he was playing in the first 4 games which is distributer and they lose and now it’s he quit. I just don’t get that. They lost that series bc in the games they lost Odom and Walton didn’t play well and bc Mike D’Antoni actually made an in series adjustment that Phil had no answer for. He put James Jones into the starting lineup over Tim Thomas in game 5 I believe and they didn’t lose a game after that against the Lakers. I think they actually scored over 120 every game after that. Some blame goes on Kobe but that was on Phil, Kobe, Walton and Odom. Once again I could give a damn abt if Kobe deserved mvp or not that year but that series shouldn’t have factored in at all bc Steve Nash didn’t play anywhere near the level that Kobe did. He just clearly had the way better team.

Also the 2003 season he could have gotten it when Shaq came in late in the season. That may have been his best year statistically as well

    LeBron HEAVILY relies on his strength and athleticism. He has an inconsistent jump shot, no footwork, and his free throw shooting is terrible. People say that he's more efficient than Michael Jordan because he shoots above 50% but the majority of his points are within the paint, while MJ shot 49.7% from the field, while the majority of his points came from mid range. If Kobe had LeBron's body size, strength, and athleticism he would be even more unstoppable...I don't even want to imagine Jordan with LeBron's body.
    The thing is that LeBron could learn how to shoot better, improve his free throw shooting and be like Hakeem or Kobe in the post but he doesn't. Kobe and MJ knew their own flaws...once they weren't as athletic anymore they became deadly from the mid range. Once father time catches up, LeBron's gonna look silly

      By that definition he's only been to the Finals ONCE - 2007. Where is the 0-3 garbage coming from?
      Lebron has led his team every year except 2011 when Wade undisputedly led the team. 2012-2014 DWade turned the team over to Lebron but was still a powerful presence in the locker room so you can make arguments there as well. 2016 there is NO doubt Lebron led that team, only an absolute hater would argue otherwise. So that's at the very least 1 on the win column any way you slice it.
      Lebron has led his team to the Finals 8x has won 3 and lost 5. He was the biggest reason the Heat lost in 2011 but he wasn't leading the team at the time. That his how it is , no more, no less.

Now I may ask in which era would those numbers given the context be deserving of “MVP”? Also remember how much of a defensive sieve he was. Peace

    Couldn’t agree more with chronicles here..... Kobe was more of a drill sgt under the leadership of Phil. We saw once Phil left it took Kobe a while before he reached the finals again. LeBron biggest flaw is he refuses to be properly coached and it is more and more clear with how coaches are replaced for other ppl he deems as “pushovers”. Because Lebron demands a lot of attention both on and off the court. So his team doesn’t have much of a chance to grow within a real system due to the fact that they are apart of the “LeBron” machine.

      @cyber6sapien Před 6 lety

      Creative Concept It was a bad matchup. The Mavs lost all their regular season games to that Warriors team that season as well . It happens. Denver knocked out the Sonics in the 1994 playoffs when Seattle had the #1 seed in the West. In any case, I fail to see what that has to do with my point, because MVP is for the regular season and the Mavs lost to the Warriors in 2007, not 2006!

    • @creativeconcept2622
      @creativeconcept2622 Před 6 lety

      cyber6sapien Lol so the Lebron led Miami Heat didn't over match them? He got it done anyways. Match ups only go so far. It's about how well you play and how well you think in the heat of the moment. And I never spoke on any direct date, that was you. I'm starting my own point saying it doesn't matter how good you are unless you WIN. "Should of" MVPs are irrelevant man

    • @cyber6sapien
      @cyber6sapien Před 6 lety +1

      Creative Concept I fail to see how your point is relevant to what I stated. BTW, Dirk lead the Mavs to the Finals in 2006 without another All Star player. Steve Nash didn't do this and neither did Kobe. Shaq had Dwyane Wade on his team. Harden won MVP this year and failed to lead his team to the Finals. So my point that Dirk deserved MVP in 2006 stands, even if you want to bring in playoff performance into the equation. Matchups ARE relevant once you understand the game. In the 1990s there were about 4 teams in the Western conference constantly battling for supremacy: The Rockets, the Suns, the Jazz and the Sonics. Kenny Smith has gone on record on NBA Open Court, stating that the Sonics had the Rockets number. The Rockets were fortunate that the two years that they made it to the Finals, they didn't matchup with the Sonics in the Western conference.
