  • Having proper air inflation on your bike, car or other sports equipment tires is essential to keep them working properly and efficiently. With manual hand or floor pumps, it can be easy to put off checking air pressure as it can be time consuming to use. That’s why the CYCPLUS A8 inflator is a convenient gadget to own. The A8 features one of CYCPLUS’s largest 2600 mAh rechargeable battery with USB Type-C charging port. Retail price for the A8 inflator is $49.99 which is competitive against other electric and handpumps. An aluminium body and venting on the body help keep the A8 inflator cool while features such as an integrated LED light and mode selector make the CYCPLUS A8 inflator add additional functionality.
    Despite the higher capacity battery, the CYCPLUS A8 is still relatively compact. The inflator has a rectangular profile with rounded corners and venting on the top and bottom. Compared to the plastic body of the CYCPLUS A2, the silver aluminium body gives the A8 a more premium appearance and feel. Surprisingly there is no branding or CYCPLUS logos on the A8 body or on the display screen we received although CYCPLUS’s official photos show a logo. Also, there currently aren’t any additional colors offered aside from the silver / black combination. To recharge the A8, there is a USB Type-C charging port on the bottom which means you can share cables with newer devices that use USB-C. One thing to note is a lack of rubber gasket for weather proofing which means the A8 is not water or dust resistant.
    One of the biggest improvements of the CYCPLUS A8 over the other models such as the CYCPLUS A2 is the high contrast LED display. The square display is located at the top of the front with the five button round menu directly beneath it. It has a 3 row display with icons on the top row to indicate the mode, a large 3 digit display in the center, and battery status / units displayed on the bottom. While the display is simple, the high contrast backlit design is easy to read even in low light conditions. We also found the icons to be easy to understand and well sized. To use the inflator, there are several attachments that screw on to the top hose. The main attachment that covers presta / schrader valves is a long flexible rubber hose that threads onto nozzles. For other applications such as basketballs or yoga balls, you’ll need to keep the bag of attachments handy to swap on...

    Thanks I have one but I don't like their weirdly vague instructions. Your demonstration is way more helpful and it's really cool that I can even check my psi with it.

      Glad it could help. I've been using the A8 around the house for cars / wheel barrows and even yoga balls. You'll need to keep the little adapter handy to switch between Shrader / Presta valves though.

    Thanks for the review. I would definitely buy one of these. I wouldn’t carry it on my road bike but would keep it in my car.

      No problem, glad it could be helpful. The A8 is very handy to have around the house, I've inflated everything from a wheelbarrow to car tires with it. The similarly sized CYCPLUS A2 pump actually comes with a bike mount which is a bit strange - it's not practical to carry while cycling.

    Great vid. when using om a road bike with presta 1) is it easy to connect? my hand pump is aweful connection 2) does it show you the current psi when you connect before inflating like it did with car tire? thanks for your response

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  Před rokem

      Thanks! Yes, the pump displays current pressure once it is fully seated. It's pretty easy to connect as well once you put on the Presta adapter. The pump is fairly large though, so I don't think I'd recommend taking it on rides (unless your commuting). At home, a floor pump like a Topeak JoeBlow is a better option and you don't have to worry about battery life.

    Does it remembered what you set the pressure to the last time you used it, and does it remember the pressure readout setting (BAR, PSI, etc) or does it default back to BAR and a default pressure everytime you turn it on?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  Před rokem +1

      To my knowledge, the units and inflation value do persist so you don't have to keep re-selecting it.

  • @kosmatifizik

    Would it be able to inflate a SUP? High volume at 10 psi.

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes, it should be able to. I've been using the same inflator to top of my car tires without any issue or having to recharge it very often.

  • @theanimaster
    @theanimaster Před 2 lety +2

    There have been many comments regarding the loss of pressure when using Presta valves -- can you comment on that?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  Před 2 lety

      I haven't had that issue. The head threads on so it seems to get a decent seal. Overtime the rubber gaskets can become damaged and may leak but they've held up for us so far. It's been great for car tires where a floor pump just takes too long.

    How long does it take from flat to inflate

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  Před 5 měsíci

      It depends on the size of the tire. The CYCPLUS A8 is a fairly big pump so it's a lot faster than the mini pumps like the CYCPLUS Cube.

    Do you reckon this pump can seat a tubeless tire?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  Před 2 lety +1

      No, I don't think the air flow is fast enough. I'd recommend something like the Topeak Tubibooster or similar air cannisters for that.

    How much Time Is required for a road bike tyre??let's say from 0 to 7 bar?
    Thanks a lot

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  Před 2 lety

      It's not particularly fast but I would estimate about ~40 seconds from flat. With car tires I generally just walk away and let it do its thing. The A8 has decent battery power though, so you can fill multiple bikes before having to recharge it.

      Sorry to hear that. We are still using the A8 to pump up car tires. Aside from how noisy it is, it's a convenient pump to have.
