    I found your channel a few weeks ago while I was going down the Trailer Rider rabbit hole. I've since bought one, and am quite happy with it. Your maintenance videos will be a big help in the future for me I am sure. Thanks for making so much informative content on this bike.

    Great choice!!! I’m looking at the XR150L. Honda has some great new bikes for this year!!

      I'm currently at this exact same decision point. So did you end up going with the 300 or the 150?

    • @felixandy
      @felixandy Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@CorbrwlI held off on this because I couldn’t find one nearby to see in person and sit on. I switched gears a little and currently looking at a bit larger adventure bikes to hopefully do cross country trips within my allowed vacation time from work. Although, either the 150 or 300 would be perfect for the Trans America Trail.

    At one time a few years ago I had 5 bikes in my "stable". Got tired of keeping up on all the maintenance, insurance and taxes. Slowly sold them all off while picking up a new cb500x in 2019. In 2022 I added a MT09sp for my 2 bike line up but as great as that bike is it was a disappointment. I was craving a dual sport so I got a crf300 rally and sold the MT...so loving this crf! BTW the cb500x is a fantastic machine and the two bike rule the CRF and cb500x is a great combo pair of bikes. Thanks for the vid and enjoy your new bike!

    Congratulations on the new bike man! I'm 5'.9" myself. I've ridden a Suzuki DR350S for 20 years. A couple years ago I lowered it and it changed the game. A low seat concepts and a 2" lowering link fixed it right up. Clean you out a corner and keep that little trail man, break the rules and have 3! I have the DR350S, Himmy, CT110, Ct125, Yamaha QT50, and the TW200 and love to ride them all! Good stuff man. Look forward to the adventures on it!

      Funny, I have been struggling with too many bikes syndrome! I have a Harley Heritage Classic, a 1200 Sportster Custom, and a Kayo K2 dirt bike. Now looking at adding a couple Adventure bikes. So, why stop at 3, get 5!

    T-Rex racing sells a center stand for the CRF300L, no idea if it’ll work on the lower LS, but it might be worth investigating. Love the look of the LS, I might get one of those over the standard model simply because I like the look more!

    I'm 6³ with 31" inseam... I saw a Himalayan and fell in love .... So I bought one 3 weeks ago ... I think next year I'm gonna get a 2nd bike .... Now I got to decide if I want a bigger bike for longer highway rides... Or a bike like you're 300

    I saw this color-scheme the other day and immediately thought of Itchy Boots merch color scheme. I really like the grey/orange. I wish Honda would make the Rally in this color. Nice bike, I've been eyeing them as a replacement for my Himi. Enjoy the new ride!

    Im 6'2" 195lbs with a 34" inseam. But i havent rode in about 11-12 years. I dont want my first bike back into riding to be super small, but i want to start slow for a season first. I sat on a 300l and 300 rally and did not like the height even with my height juat due to being rusty and low confidence again. It made me want to go down to a 225-250cc bike but i know that wont be enough power for me after a weekend or two. I think the 300ls is the ticket for me too even at my size. Thanks so much!

    I'm a Honda fanboy. I don't hate American bikes, per se [love the 2025 Indian Scouts Line], but I can buy two CRF300LS and still spend less than the cheapest Harley.

    I know i’m late here, but, please put a very large gas tank on this bike. It opens up the “backcountry”. Puts it a little closer to the adventure bike. If you don’t need the fuel capacity, don’t fill it completely.

    • @On2Feet
      @On2Feet  Před 11 měsíci

      I may very well do this in the long run, but for now, most of my adventures will be close enough where I can get by with a 1 gallon roto-pax or other fuel add-on. (for now)

    Hi John, here in Germany we are waiting for the new Triumph Scrambler 400X. This could be alternative bike for the Himalayan, but believe me, the mod’s you made on your Himalayan are hardly to do with a Scrambler or any bike else. I share the same thoughts and decided to stay with the Himalayan for the next time . Stay healthy at least.

    Could not believe you even considered parting ways with the Honda Trail. What a perfect find John on this new Honda. Love the color scheme and It's not all loaded down with plastic. Chances are the Himalayan may sit now😢.
    Stay Healthy. Looking forward to a video on your new addition.
    Color is Swift Grey. $5700.00. 311Lbs.
    What a contender! ( LS )

      The Himalayan definitely won't sit....as it is still my true adventure bike....but yeah, selling the Trail 125 was a tough call. I think if I ever wanted to go back to a Trail, I would prefer the newer green one (with a proper oil filter) anyway!

    Intriguing video!! When you started I had thought a Honda would be a very likely candidate. Like you I am 5ft 9in and inside leg 32 and I have tried a Rallye and aslo felt it was too high. I hadn't appreciated there was an "S" version available. I also have a Himalayan and when you started talking about only having two bikes I was convinced that was the one to be going. Looking forward to future videos.

    I thought you looked familiar....your other video helped me adjust the chain tension on my CT125 haha. I'm also looking at upgrading to the CRF300LS. It's nice to see others have gone down the same upgrade path. The biggest limiting factor for me with the trail is the top speed. What's the top speed you're seeing on the 300LS?

    • @On2Feet
      @On2Feet  Před 10 měsíci

      I’ve taken the 300ls on the interstate and had it up to 83 mph. With that said I don’t like to go over about 72

    @graymangw6016 Před rokem +1

    First off I'm a respiratory therapist so 84%, holy cow glad you are ok and that was amazing that you finished the race. Also that new 300s looks amazing and I can't wait to see more content. For the Himalayan have you ever considered doing any performance mods? I got a fuel tuner, high flow filter, and exhaust and I can easily do 75mph. I am going to do the cam over the winter just to see if i can get the reves further down.

    • @HumbleHomeStudio
      @HumbleHomeStudio Před rokem

      I'm new to the channel but I'm pretty sure he did a couple videos on performance mods. I am struggling on a decision between the Himalayan and one of the other dual sports, Kawi klx 300, Honda crf300l(s), and the Yamaha XL250. I think of the Himalayan as a land canoe and the others as street legal dirt bikes. I have a dirt bike and I am thinking the Himalayan will best serve my intended use but it would be good if it could handle some pretty aggressive off road duties as I do like that kind of riding. The others would probably be better at that stuff. And I have to get 2 because my wife wants one too! And since you are a Respiratory Therapist, I had LONG Covid and am still fighting my way back from that. It has totally messed up my lungs. I have have to bring Albuterol when I go for a run. Sometimes I don't need it, sometimes I can't make it without!

      @graymangw6016 Před rokem

      @@HumbleHomeStudio Sorry to hear you have lingering symptoms. The Himalayan is a great all around bike, though in stock from it is lacking in power (anything over 70mph is going to suck). If you are new to off road riding and you have good access to off road trails then go with a smaller dual sport. You will be able to get better faster by getting experience on a smaller dual sport rather than a larger one. The 310gs and ktm390 are also good choices, more power and lighter. If you are not new to riding then the KLR, standard or short, is a good all around choice. The Himalayan is great for style, size, and ease of use.

  • @petewarby7158
    @petewarby7158 Před rokem +1

    Ah mate! Does this new bike maybe tick a lot of boxes that BOTH the trail and the Himalayan did? Lightweight of the Trail and maybe more power than the Himalayan? Are you going to be in the market to replace that? I mean that 300 is a lovely looking bike, very envious here. And you've got a new project too, so much fun, nice choice I think :))))))

    Hey Fegy! Its Jim from CCF. I was looking at Himalayan reviews and found your video. So great to see you are doing well and doing great things! I'm a life long rider. I have a Cruiser and a Dirt bike but have been contemplating adventure riding but didn't want one of those large adventure bikes. I've been considering the RE Himalayan, Kawi KLX 300, and the Honda CRF300L. Its weight and off road capability vs riding comfort and seat height. Looks like you found a good compromise AND possibly keeping the Himalayan? Looking forward to checking out your other videos!

      Good to hear from you Jim! It's certainly been a while. Things are good out here in Flagstaff. Doing very different type of work now than in the "old days", but loving it. Much happier in the world of science, research, and academia. As far as the bikes...I've really loved my Himalayan (10,000 miles now)....but only just got the CRF300LS (so don't have an honest review yet). So far, it seems like a good balance for the type of riding I most enjoy.

      @@On2Feet You made a courageous move and it clearly paid off. I'm jealous! But you inspired me. I wanted to hike the Appalachian trail but never got around to that one. I did go to school and scored my bachelors (Suma Cum Laude), my Masters, a post grad cert, and got my PMP along with a few other trophy's. Had some great music opportunities, done some traveling, rafting, rappelling, Dirt Biking, hand built and wired a couple amps, I started my own channel but it was more about learning how to do it, the photography, the editing, etc, than a serious effort at a channel. It did give me the photography bug, another healthy addiction! And now dying to do some Adventure Motorcycling! I'm good on a dirt bike so it's not about the riding challenge. Its about the Adventure! I credit Itchy Boots with that inspiration. Looks like you have been busy! Can't wait to watch your videos. I did subscribe and looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the New Bike.

    My first bike was a CRF 250L. It was just too tall for me at 34 inches and the seat was not comfortable at all for my fat old butt. It was a super nice bike though. I traded it for my HD but I still wanted a dual sport for my height so I got a Yamaha TW 200 which fits me perfectly but too slow for the main highways. Im very interested in the CRF300LS but I'm afraid it might have that same narrow uncomfortable seat. Let me know what you think about the seat.
