In this video, we are setting up Android Auto on your Toyota vehicle. This is a terrific feature that is offered on almost all 2020 and newer Toyota models! This is a great interactive tool to view and operate navigation, text messages, music and podcast apps, and more from your phone on your Toyota. I will show you how to initiate Android Auto on your phone and on the head unit of your Toyota vehicle, along with some tips and information of the use of this feature in your Toyota.
Please note that this feature is available on Android devices running at Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or above.

@@andrewbrown4795 Android Auto was not introduced on Corolla until the 2021 model year. Apple CarPlay was available in the 2020 model year but not Android Auto.

Thank you so much I finally found my problem. It was usb port problem. I used the same usb but it doesn't work. I don't know I plugged in again. It works and then I could see an android auto connected sign in the phone screen. I got you thanks a lot.
Belleville Toyota has some of the best tutorials around. I couldn't get Google Maps to work, but somehow it was disabled on my phone (even after I thought I had used it).

Yeah there is no android auto on your 2020 corolla LE edition. I question why your LUXERY edition trim doesn't have Android auto at all.

This was very helpful! Toyota manufacturers should have made Android Auto wireless. I'd like to play music via USB while using Google maps.
I thought there was a way to do this. Did you call the service department?
@@lynej2011 no need to call the service department, it's the design of the equipment/car. All service can do is update the software that's it. It's the manufacturer... The '23 Camry has the wireless option... They're so behind

So just got an 2023 tacoma and to use all these features do i have ti have my phone connected to car with cable? No bluetooth or wireless option?
Wireless capability only became available on certain 2023 Toyota models. Therefore, you would need the data transfer cable to initiate Android Auto or Apply Car Play.
I have a 2019 camry and it only came with apple play I'm guessing cuz I have no option for android auto

I have 2021 Toyota Highlander XLE. While using android auto wireless adapter, I am getting the direction map but I am not getting turn by turn audio. Is there are a setting which allows me to get turn by turn audio direction also? Please respond. Thank you.
As we are not familiar with wireless adapter for android auto, it's best to contact your local Toyota dealer and speak or see a technology expert to better assist you.

Android Auto became available in the Corolla on the 2021 models and newer.

Good morning Terry. Wireless android is only available on the 2022 Tundra at this time. It is coming in future generations with the upgrade in Infotainment systems.

If your vehicle does not come with embedded navigation then yes, you will need to connect your phone to your vehicle to use your phone’s map app. Wireless connection for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is not available in the 2022 RAV4.

We have a toyota plug in hybride 2019 with the same screen but I don't have the projection option only have mirrorlink usb&wifi and no one of them works it pops on as toyota touch on my phone I click connect but nothing happen
Depending on your model, you may not have this available on your vehicle. It's best to contact your local Toyota dealership who can check and confirm this for you.
Your video is very clear and informative. Thank you. My C-HR Hybrid is 2019 and does not have the android os installed. Are you aware of an os system update or a mirroring type of app that will work with this model please? The Android Auto app does not show this car to be compatible. Thank you in advance for any comments you may have.
Unfortunately no, we are not aware of an upgrade that can be done to add Android Auto to your CHR.

I swear just bought a new car too , it is so stupid to have to use cable to connect anytime.
I have a 2020 corolla with projection in the menu homescreen and apple car play in the "setup" menu but I don't see Android auto on my setup menu. When I press projection on the menu homescreen, it tells me to "connect a compatible device via USB to use this feature". I do have entune- the toyota app, as well as scout GPS, however, I find it very clumsy and cumbersome. Does this. Mean I'm stuck with using the toyota app rather than android auto? Anyway I can download the app on the car? I already have the app on my phone.
Android Auto was not added to Corolla until the 2021 model year. There is no app to download Android Auto to your vehicle. Unfortunately you will need to use the Toyota app as the vehicle will only use projection with an iPhone in the 2020 model year.

If you are asking about a 2022 Corolla SE with automatic transmission then it is equipped with the Direct Shift-CVT which has the Launch Gear.
In my 2020 Toyota Corolla LE projection settings don't exist, so I don't know if the DCM is not updated or if my car doesn't have it. It was trying to force me to download the Toyota Entune app, but it says it's no longer available in my country. Then I found through Reddit thread that it said that is completely normal and what you just do is download Toyota app. Any advise?

Hello Prasanna. Android Auto was not introduced on Corolla until the 2021 model year. Apple CarPlay was available in the 2020 model year but not Android Auto.
In this case , use Miracast instead.

Question about handsfree calling. We have two phones that are connected to Bluetooth. If phone 1 getting a call it works on the car, but the car won't take a call on phone 2 even though the phone is known to the car and Bluetooth is on.
Same if 1 is connected to Android auto you can't seem to say that the other phone can receive calls on Bluetooth as well.
Is it what it is, or am I missing something?
Most vehicles that have the bluetooth connection can pair/save multiple devices for convenience, so everytime that device is near it doesn't have to pair. Only one device can be used at a time in regards to taking/making calls, or playing music apps.
However, if you have a Toyota that has the Multi-Media system that has wireless connection, under Manage Devices: 1 device can connect via apple car play/android auto, the other device use for phone & media - this lets you connect both phones to receive calls in the vehicle. To make calls, the one connected via apple carplay/android auto, uses Siri/Google (press and hold call button) rather than the voice command of the vehicle (just press).

@@Shreshta92 Unfortunately, there is not a quicker way to switch devices other than connnecting/disconnecting the chord or bluetooth on the devices.

Hi David! Great question- only the 2022 Tundra system has the wireless connection, however this system will become widespread across models shortly :)

We are not aware of any Toyota adapters to have android auto work on older models unfortunately.
The only option i saw on a 2020 corolla was Apple not AndroidAuto. Does it need an update or something?

Depending on the Toyota model you have, Android Auto became available on 2021 Toyota models.

Most Toyotas had apple car play available before android auto, depending on the year and model of your vehicle, this may be the case for your vehicle.
