Peter Egan gave a better performance as Wilde in the 1978 miniseries Lillie. Fact.

Surprisingly no comment, people says Stephen " Were new to the idea of gay people, and when Oscar Wilde life became public in newspapers people literally vomited on the streets", never knew that. Will have to see the movie to get a exact idea of the personality of Wilde. Thank you, Stephen Fry for such a interview and also the director to give us a movie.

Thanks for sharing this. I watched it immediately after watching the film Stephen Fry's method of humorous observation and obvious intellect, as well as uncanny resemblance to Oscar Wilde's older years, made him almost scarily perfect tor this role!
