    My problem with magnetic as a type is, It's only good against like half the EHP of a corpus - They still have flesh after their shields are gone. Unless It helps deal with their flesh, it feels it would probably be better to just continue using Toxin to bypass their shields anyways.

    • @crumdogy
      @crumdogy Před měsícem +11

      As I understand, the faction resistances and vulnerabilities will apply universally to health, armor, and shields. So if there is no damage bonus for using toxin on corpus, but there is one for magnetic, I wonder if they could be close to equal in time to kill.

      Magnetic needs to have a much larger impact on REMOVING shields IMO. I think it should not only make it harder for enemies to regain them, but every time it procs it should strip a percentage off, so guns with a little magnetic can help punch through shields initially too. Since most enemies arent going to live long enough after losing shields to even regain them. Its current effects are basicaly only usefull on shielded bosses.

    • @8bitmemorylane166
      @8bitmemorylane166 Před měsícem +1

      Magnetic is and will continue to be effectively redundant as long as you're able to simply bypass shields entirely with toxin for 99.9% of all enemies. This IMHO would need to change in order to give magnetic any relevance, unless DE decide to give magnetic procs some fancy secondary effect (maybe move the bullet attractor effect from void to magnetic?). Best solution would be to let only toxin procs, not direct toxin damage bypass shields, similar to how slash is working against armor currently. Let's see where they'll be going with this...

    • @DawnAfternoon

      @@8bitmemorylane166 Honestly? I think Toxin needs to be partially nerfed. Have Toxin bypass 25-50% the damage into the HP, instead of full 100% bypass. This might seem like a nerf, but it will help shield-focused players survive toxin damage too.

    I kind of liked the IDEA of the old different types of health, armor, and shield. That being said this was a needed change. It may reduce the uniqueness of the damage system somewhat, but sometimes taking the road less traveled means it's harder to reach the destination. Our destination? Fun town! And boy do I think this will lead to that place fast. If this goes how DE intends for it to, I might actually get hard addicted to this game again.

    These enemy resistance type changes sound amazing. I hope they are able to implement them in a way that works well... I remember playing Warframe way back at launch when your different configs on weapons were modded to specifically deal with each faction (Grineer, Corpus, Infested) and was so confused when I finally came back and Viral+Heat was the only meta for everything.
    I've always been interested in building out different loadouts with a specific set of weapons that would be modded to deal specifically with each faction but all of the varying armor and health types made it hard to develop any kind of consistency. There's so many powerful weapons in the game with interesting mechanics and built in status types. Forcing Viral+Heat on everything just feels bad. It'll be nice to be able to focus more on a weapons innate power and still have it perform well. Looking forward to it.

    For the armour strip, i think what they mean is like a minimum armour strip cap. So with numbers, running that 3000 by as a max, a heavy gunner lets say may only ever be stripped down to 1000 armour, a bombard might be to 1200-1500, a lancer down to 500, and a butcher may go down to like 100. So basically you cant ever fully strip an enemy's armour, but you still will get a lot of value from it due to it being more impactful with the new curve not being so weighted one way.

    Something that they could do to mitigate the problem of swapping builds I feel would be having a dropdown to see your equipped loadout's configuration (example: you have idk a Tenet Arca Plasmor, Pyrana Prime and Xoris) and swiftly change mod config with a single click for each, or perhaps add a check on the arsenal to determine which config is gonna be used on certain faction missions (example: a little dropdown on the side of the config bar that lists neutral, grineer, corpus, infested, etc) and when you select an option then that option will be applied automatically when enetering the mission. You'd still need to go to the arsenal to swap weapons and mod accordingly with either option, but that'd be a nice QoL no matter which way you go about it. I'd imagine that the problem is not so much about adding the check but rather to make it work during load, but would be nice to see it someday

    one thing that they could do to help with the swapping builds thing would be just to let me copy slot a into slot b or slot c so I dont have to keep switching from A to B to make sure im not missing any of the other mods I want. then it just becomes ok so now I just switch these elemental mods and then slot a on this gun is for grineer, slot b is for corpus, etc. and maybe give us 4 instead of 3. There are more than 3 factions, so if I have a build for each faction then I cant have a build that maybe takes the weapon in a different direction like hybrid instead of crit.
    the gas 'change' really makes one wonder how many of the issues players have could be alleviated by an overhaul of the UI and how the systems get introduced to players to begin with.
