Not to mention 5 star does a tune for these to give it 50 more Hp Ford cuts off fuel at 3,900 rpm but it still makes power up to 5,000 rpm

If I'm not mistaken in the f-series it makes peak power 430, @5500 rpm.. as stated the way ford de-rates the van, and motorhome platforms is to cut fuel early, thus 350 hp around 4k.. a tune would really turn it into a beast of a motorhome.

Same here. Very peppy, but the RPMS cruise a bit higher than I’d like, 2300 rpm at 65 seems to be a bit much for me.

that thing's frickin' loud under acceleration, what a drag.....:-( the suspension crashes over sharp bumps like my 2005 Workhorse; I guess I can stop shopping for something new that would be quieter and smoother; and no it's not faster than the 8.1 GM engine.

@@VailJohnsontruthfully, I agree with you, I've driven both and worked on both. The 8.1 had more power and a smoother feel, but honestly if Ford let those vans rev out a little bit, the e series 7.3 has a different tune than the 7.3 in the new super duties, the Econoline only revs to about 4 grand. If it revved more, like the old 6.2s did it would feel peppier but right out of the box I'd say 8.1 Chevy is still a winner. Although the Ford does get slightly better gas mileage.
