Iâm glad youâre doing well now and that youâre still with us. I, unfortunately, lost my husband unexpectedly due to a PE a couple years ago. He wasnât sure why his knee was hurting and then said he had gone to the gym and thought it was because of that. He didnât have any redness or swelling. The next day, when he went to drop our baby off before work, he called me saying he was having a panic attack and I ended up being his first responder. I lost my husband that day and he was only 33 years old. Our baby had just turned 2. Donât ignore the signs your body is showing you. Donât hesitate to get care because it could be the end for you.
We also check homans sign for DVT In The leg
I am so sorry to hear that. My heart breaks for you. I also have a 2 year old so imagining him without his father is heart shattering. Wishing the best for you and your child.
I really wonder what causes blood clots?
@@hellokittydimaggio yes, I check my patients for positive Homanâs sign but my husband had been working out and playing sports so when I asked him about it, he brushed it off relating it to those possibilities. He had never complained about anything before. He was in law enforcement and on his feet all day. It just came out of nowhere.
@@S212S2 thank you very much. It is an unfathomable loss but each day I remind him of something positive related to his fatherâs memory so he has less room for negative thoughts. He grieves him in his own way but we talk about him and thatâs whatâs important/key to helping us cope with our loss. Thank you for your positivity. I wish you and your little one lots of joy.
â„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïž You're the only person who was still trying to capture content and work while in the ER/ICU.. SMH... so glad everything worked out.. PHEW

You're such a sweet sister, all of you Ezarik sisters are so sweet and awesome, love you guys. So glad Justine is okay â€
What kind of work do you do in the medical field? I'm glad you're there for Justine throughout the process.
I know how your sister feels ive been through same thing but not arm mine was my leg had to have emergency surgery on it on medication forever if they didnt operate on it would have lost my leg in my case when people I knew where told stopped contact with me hope your sister gets well soon
As a survivor of multiple pulmonary embolisms Iâm so glad you are still with us! Iâm now a lifer on blood thinners!â„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïž Take your time! It takes time to get back to normal
Can only agree with you, iÂŽm a lifer on blood thinners also, had my first bloodclot in my brain at age 11, and had 3 more since... things will be a new normal at some time. All the love to both of you
Ugh why do all these terrible things happen to good innocent people. Life is unfair
Curious which thinners and how much are you paying for a month supply?? Iâm not liking the monthly expenseâŠ
I also have had it twice. As odd as it might sound it is actually good that it made it to the lungs. If it got stuck where it splits in the Y on the way to the lungs it is extremely dangerous. They are no joke.
The thought of blood thinners is scary at first. The most common issue is that you will have to make sure to keep pressure on a wound until it clots. You also need to be cautious doing activities where you could fall hard. Donât do them or be really careful.
I'm in the same situation. I will be in blood thinners for the rest of my life.
Iâm so so happy youâre still with us! And Iâm so happy Jenna was with you! Please take care of yourselves, we are all here for you both! Super heroes!

Hey Justine, Iâve also had a PE when I was 21. Please keep in mind that you have an increased risk of reoccurring thrombosis now. Iâm glad youâre not taking your flight because my doctor strictly forbid any flying for at least six months after my PE. I totally get that you donât like needles but when you come off the blood thinners, please consider injecting blood thinners just before and after any flights you take. Itâs been 5 years for me now and once in a while I can feel where my PE was because I think 1/3 of people develop a little bit of scar tissue in their lunges. Glad youâre ok, roughly every fourth person doesnât survive a PE.

I'm glad your ok and better! Back in June 2020 my boss's daughter was teaching over in Turkey, she broke her ankle and was on blood thinners , her ankle in a cast, 3 days later she died of a blood clot that went to her brain, she was 34 at the time. My boss got a call from the hospital in Turkey at 5am our time (Western Canada). Was a very bad day to say. I knew his daughter for 10 years and then she was gone.
Yea, I donât know what is with bones, but Iâve heard people who break a bone or have to get an amputation (cutting the bone), are at a higher risk of blood clots.
Clotshot strikes again!...

@My Huawei Did she send you the prize?
@My Huawei I won a prize (Cell-P), for leaving encouragement, In TELEGRAM, she asks me for $ 37 for the shipping in CASHAPP, after I receive it, wants more money, $ 70 extra, I asked for my refund. I'll make a complaint about this situation. I don't know who else fell into that trap, using a video of his health to steal, it's not fair!
@@M_freedomOfSpeech It's a bot. If you didn't know, there's this problem in youtube where bots all over the comment section that are pretending to be someone else. But instead, they're trying to scam people. I suggest to watch one of MKBHD's video about that subject. He uploaded this in his main channel about a month ago I believe. Hello Justine! I been a paramedic for over 15 years and I saw a lot of cases of DVTs and I am glad you were one of the lucky ones! its very dangerous and sometimes the problem scalate very fast, I am glad you are ok! next time do not wait that long please!
Vaccines
As a paramedic, have you noticed any recent surge in this? If so, could it be linked to the jab or not? And if it is, wouldn't it be your duty as a nurse to point out a possible correlation, to potentially save lives, so people can make informed decisions regarding their own health wrt the jab?
Many of us are RAPIDLY losing trust in the medical establishment, it makes me feel uneasy, very creeped out when the entire establishment is keeping shtum almost as if something sinister is going on, you need to be more forthright with the public, what is going on??đł
@@CaptainSaveHoe DVTs can occurred for so many reason, diet, medication and physical activity, it can occur for trauma, lots of people get hurt and they donât go to the doctor and it will heal with the time but blood clots can form without you noticing until they start traveling inside your body and when it stops is when you start having signs and symptoms, so thereâs no point start pointing fingers on whoâs fault is it, it just something that happened and few ways you can do to prevent it but itâs not easy.
@@TechTherapyGuy it should be interesting to you that these clots have been happening at alarming rates since the jab, yet apparently it isn't, the fact that you list a bunch of possible causes but omit the jab as a possible cause, gives me an eery feeling of unease, and it's not just you but MANY people who seem to be simultaneously hypnotized into looking the other way, in total denial of the elephant in the room. I never imagined that humanity had this creepy side, it's like being in the real life twilight zone, scary.
Today I had a conversation about this precise subject, I was told that a population that has been made fearful of a perceived threat can be manipulated into the most absurd patterns of behaviour, if they have been persuaded that those behaviors can help protect them. I totally agreed.

Blood clots are no joke! My dad got a serious one in his small intestine (no doctor in the hospital had ever seen it, even the specialist had to resort to text books). He was in the hospital for two weeks, was told that if he had waited another hour to go to the hospital, he would have died.
So glad you are okay Justine!
Wow what was his symptoms
@@hellokittydimaggio Heâs always had gastrointestinal issues so much like Justine and her arm, he felt bloated and was under the weather. Then came the stomachache and not being able to use the restroom. When I was finally told about it, he was in the ER. Visiting him was terrifying, he was delirious, sweaty, his whole stomach area was hard as a rock and bloated. He couldnât speak as well. Blood clots can happen slowly and hit hard or come out of nowhere and accumulate in hours. Only a few years ago did we get his blood thinner medicine sorted.

Although vaccination (namely with adenovirus vectored vaccines for SARS-CoV-2) carries a risk for thrombotic events, they are extremely rare and are much more likely after infection with coronavirus. A paper from late 2020 "Pulmonary Embolism and Deep Vein Thrombosis in COVID-19: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis" demonstrated that risk of a PE after infection was near 15%. After vaccination, a paper from India "SARS-CoV-2-related and Covid-19 vaccine-induced thromboembolic events: A comparative review" found once again it was most closely related to their adenovirus vectored vaccines rather than the more popular mRNA vaccines here in the USA where the poster of this video lives. Patients have the role of autonomy to decide for themselves if the risks outweigh the benefits, and it is the role of ethical physicians to make sure those topics are discussed and acknowledged.

Everyone needs a Jenna and a Ro! They are amazing! So glad youâre ok Justine. Definitely traumatic.
Iâm so glad youâve got through what must have been a very scary time. Things things come to dry us and invariably fall out of a clear blue sky. Thank goodness for the professionalism of those who looked after you. Take care now đđ
Thanks so much for sharing your story. Blood clots are serious biz & should be treated as such!! Relieved that you are/will be okay - and thanks again. đ
So glad you're okay! I had bilateral pulmonary emboli in 2011 (I was 21), 3 days in ICU and 6 days in the cardiovascular level of my local hospital...people don't know how bad blood clots can be until they have them. Always listen to your body! It could save your life.
It is kind of amazing that even while you are in the hospital with a life threatening condition, you still are one of the most entertaining CZcamsrs (maybe you should have gotten more of the drugs to take home with you đ) Hereâs hoping for a full recovery â€ïžâđ©č->â€ïž (with no blood thinners).
Justine- Wow- I've never heard someone have the SAME STORY as me. (I've been following your iPhone videos for years now) Randomly one day my whole right arm got swollen, from shoulder to finger tips, and after a few days decided to go get it checked out. The doctor at the walk-in took blood, everything was fine... I told him I had shortness of breath, he told me I was nervous, and then he sent me home and wanted to send me to a hand doctor. Being a swimmer and a gymnast, I KNEW that there was not reason that my whole arm was swollen. A WEEK later I went back, arm still very swollen, and he finally ordered an ultra-sound and found the clot in my arm. He wanted to call an ambulance, I said "No I'm gonna go change and pack a bag and I'll drive myself to the ER since I've been walking around like this for over a week". When I got to the ER they did the TPA and found that I had 6 Pulmonary Embolisms. They did the dye test and found that when I sleep with my arms up, it pinched my Sub-clavian (or however you spell it) vein closed which produced the clot. They thought they were going to have to take out my top rib also, but when I went for that surgery they saw that I was just to strong and moved some muscles around. They didn't take out my rib. (the scar lines may collar bone and you can't even notice it unless I point it out). Maybe this is something similar to you since you do lots of upper body stuff. It really is crazy how you can be perfectly healthy and something like this happens. I really credit my cardio strength to swimming to get me through those 6 PE's, so keep moving. I was walking up 3 flights a stairs to get to my apartment with PEs... I could have dropped dead at any moment especially since the doctor sent me home for over a week not knowing why my whole arm was swollen. So scary looking back. I had no idea what was going on. Again, I've never heard someone have the same story as me, so feel free to reach out if you want to chat! I wish you the best of luck! You rock!
Glad to know it wasnât from an adverse effect from the shots. You should be fine in future.
Thank you so much for sharing your story!! I'm so glad you're doing well now and that's so great they didn't have to take your rib out! I'm going to try PT as a first resort before attempting surgery so I'm hopeful that will resolve some of it for the time being!
@@iJustine I hope so too! They didn't know till they went in and checked it out, so maybe something similar will happen to you too. I've been cleared off the blood thinners too! I wish you the best of luck!
So glad you are ok.. all the best to you and your sister and friends for being around you. Thank you for sharing.
I can't believe you have had such terrible experiences, you look so energetic and positive! I'm so happy that you are totally fine now!
Sending you lots of love & I wish you a safe and speedy recovery
