Baby Reindeer Credits: This program is based on real events, however certain characters, names, incidents, locations and dialogue have been fictionalised or dramatised for dramatic purposes.
If it says that not it didn't use to, its to late Netflix if they lied on her.
Baby Reindeer Opening Titles: THIS IS A TRUE STORY.
@@FormOverFlairhow can it be true if one’s called Martha and one’s called Fiona. You’re not a robot, it’s clearly based on a true story
@@Jack_B_guin_87Nope. It’s a true story.
They only changed what was listed above.
The story itself is true as stated.
@@woowah32 so who is Martha? And who is Fiona?
listening to morgan spout off about the duty of care when he ran a tabloid that hacked into people's phones is too rich to be believed.
Millie Dowlers phone after she died. He is disgusting. But he is a good interviewer
Funny though 😂
Rich people with power vs regular people is different care of duty!!
I wouldn‘t pin it all on Piers. Times have changed, especially in journalism. Piers is/was no worse than anyone else.
@@etch-a-sketch Yep, plus the fact nobody forced her to go on it.
She’s mental enough to enjoy the attention.
It's annoying that Piers keeps pushing the point about her conviction because Gadd has already stated that his real stalker was never actually convicted and that part of the story was fictionalized for the show.
But was she convicted for the stalking of the MPs wife?
Then it shouldn’t have said “this is a true story” at the start. What else isn’t true.
@@CT-vm4gf Did you watch the show? The parts that were add for effect have notations at the end of the series.
@@CT-vm4gfclearly states that some people and events have been fictionalised.
@@Lauren_3000No not according to the victim. A interim order was put in place. Fiona did not defend against the order but did stop the harassment.
The victim gave a interview to the mirror.
Fiona will be on her 800th facebook post annihilating poor Lorraine 😂
Piers is going to become “Daddy Reindeer” pretty soon.
😆😳Nyah Ahah!!
Yes, he’s probably in agony now who’s gonna play him!
If anyone is unstable it’s that woman he had on last night who kept interrupting everyone.
I know!!! That woman is just bonkers !! It was like being in a children’s playground
That woman should be banned from TV. She’s not equipped to be interviewed.
Christine Eubanks ?
@@plasticbob556 no, some obnoxious cow
Flipping dislike that woman so much, should keep muting her mic when shes like that , officer tatum said it best 😂
The end cresits say
"This show is based on real events : however certain names , characters, incidents , locations and dialogue have been fictionalised for dramatic purposes.
People never watch that. It's a good addition since it technically proves they never claimed everything was 100% true. But since most people don't wait until the end of credits it cleverly only shows the "This is a true story" part. Legally they seem pretty safe on that.
@@conforzo It also says this at the start of the credits (maybe 3-4 slides in) "Based on the play Baby Reindeer written by Richard Gadd"
Even if those people have watched this part, they will claim that they did not. Netflix will not stand out to clarify this, because people will stop searching about this and it's not good for the profit.
Finally someone with a brain. Netflix are in absolutely no way in any legal trouble I have no idea what piers is talking about
Anyone who understands how TV works knows that a script based on a true story is only very loosely based on it at best. The writers take a few plot points based on what actually happened and then fill in the rest of the show with dramatised entertainment. Piers is a journalist though and doesn't seem to understand this.
Fiona: I'm not a stalker.
Piers: So how do you know you are the woman portrayed in the show?
Fiona: Because my name comes up when you Google up "Woman stalks MP" on your iphon.
So it is a true story.
Couldn't make it up! 😅
She doesn't speak how she texts!
She wants a cut of the royalties of the show that’s why 😂
Well, I suppose it was better than hearing Piers asking a guest “Do you condemn Hamas?” for the 15 thousandth time.
tbf if people just answered the question when he asked it 😭
Up to 10 times a sesh.
Didn't richard confirm in 2019 that she was NOT convicted? Had a restraining order only?
To me, more of a slander would be if she didn't physically assulted Terri. Because from sending messages to attacking people this violent, it takes a type.
Exactly. Having a show that accuses her of so many things, and her saying "wow they lied about me going to jail"... That's not the worse thing you've done in that series lol
@@paulaxa1 There were also many scenes where she is shown sympathetically e.g. she was a damaged child and clung to a furry toy for comfort.
Fiona did not attack the gf in real life. Gadd said in an interview that they had never met.
@@Nat_Ash_A So he made up quite a lot actually. Misleading at best.
@@Nat_Ash_ANo but she sure did use a bunch of email addresses to email constantly to Gadd
"Shock horror" I'm using that. Piers sense of humour & refusal to take himself overly seriously is why he isn't going anywhere. Lorraine & Piers are great together.
Well said.
Probably a British thing to say.
The fine print at the end says dramatisation and Gad has said she didn’t go to jail.
At the beginning I’d says ‘this is a true story ‘
Many people didn't see that, and only saw the start - BASED ON A TRUE STORY - so in their minds they have already created the bias for the complete series. Just not logical, said Spock.
@@nicholasmeal7446so does Fargo
Fargo isn't based on true events though, such a poor comparison @@mezza711
So perhaps he’s lying about everything else, we have no evidence of anything
In my opinion (and from having been in a similar situation) she appears to be a strongly dependant Covert Narcissist and Gadd appears to be a co-dependant C-PTSD or BPD sufferer.
The key difference is he is taking measures at atonement, catharsis and growth whereas she is side stepping her past so presents as a potential danger to anyone who interacts with her.
Piers Morgan would interview anyone for ratings he has found his best place on CZcams .
Do you think anyone who does interviews does so for a reason other than ratings?
I mean at least hes honest about it. lol
I’m confused because Richard has said in interview, she never went to prison, they added that in to bring a close to it, suitable for screen. In real life he didn’t want to send her to prison as he felt sorry for her
but then it isn't a true story which is claims in pretty much every title of the show that it is.
@@ruthhadfield9726 at the end it says which parts were not true, or fabricated. I feel Netflix would be responsible for not correctly saying “based on a true story” perhaps… I think it is mostly true. Watching that interview, she seems very much as depicted , and looking at her online persona, she posts every two minutes. She could easily send that many emails
@@aimeekovaCrazy thing is if you keep investigating the whole facts and evidence from her tweets to the emails to the letters that gets shown, the more crazy she becomes and the more true the show was
I'm not a fan of Piers but that interview he did was quality. He asked the questions we want to ask but she admits to using 5-6 email addresses and also admits she used different names throughout her life.
If she did go to jail, which Fiona was it that went to jail....was it Fiona Muir, Fiona Muir Harvey or Fiona Harvey....or some other alias....
She did go to jail. She has several charges.
@@PMCFrontLines under which name?
Did you not watch the interview? They said that many journalists have tried to look for any records that show Fiona was convicted. They found nothing at all, not even a court order. If a skilled journalist can’t find it, how would an ordinary person on the internet find it? They even said, the lawyers for Netflix haven’t been able to find any documents.
Additionally, Gadd has admitted that he did not press charges, so he didn’t even talk with the police.
Finally, Fiona’s lawyer has tried to look for evidence too… I’m sure you know what I’m going to say.
Seems that people are so preoccupied with persecution that they wilfully ignore the facts (the real facts, not Gadd‘s version).
Piers gave a compassionate, balanced interview with Fiona and asked all the right questions.

@@frankjohnston8901She also mentioned when googling "Baby Reindeer real stalker", she comes up

The telling thing for me was after she watched the clip about 'Martha ' in the final scenes and Piers said how much the actress looked like her and Fiona responded " oh that's not very flattering is it" so Fiona thinks that she is much more attractive than the actress who plays Martha which is starkly not true . This is a sign of her narcissistic tendencies IMO

I otherwise enjoyed the interview Piers did with Fiona, but I don't understand why they are so stuck on "being convicted" part when Richard himself as publicly stated that she actually wasn't and that was one of the few parts of the show that was fiction.
Because right at the very start it says "Based on a TRUE story" watch it again! can't have it both ways...

In his interview he said she wasn't in prison

It’s all part of the show! Actors upon actors, claims and counter claims, making lots of people to dig into people’s background and become mini stalkers themselves. Something will reveal itself at the Edinburgh festival probably
Why has nobody told Piers that there’s a statement at the end of every episode that says: “This program is based on real events: however certain characters, names, incidents, locations and dialogue have been fictionalised for dramatic purposes.”

Why are people so gullible?! Baby Reindeer is not a true story. It’s a drama based on a stage show written by a guy who, by profession, is an attention seeker.
It is HIS VERSION of the truth. Fiona has HER VERSION of the truth. The actual truth will always be somewhere in between - and if the show was made to the actual truth it would have been a boring watch and no-one would be talking about it.
Imagine if this was a male Stalker. You think they'd be getting all this air time and positive slant? If think not
This is just making Stalking seem OK, or even appealing. It's OK as long as it's a bloke being stalked
I don't think that's true. If he wasn't a convicted stalker and a show made him out to be that's a huge difference. She is crazy, but she has a point.
so don't you think that people have a right to reply if an allegation is made?
He literally never said she was convicted though... he ended the show as he wished things happened and has stated this multiple times. Imagine going on a TV show saying "he said this" when he never!
Netflix exec "says" the Martha character is a convicted stalker in real life, but provides NO PROOF
So Gadd promotes the show as a true story, even though he embellished parts of it. Then says that it’s not all true only in interviews…. Is everyone that watched the show, expected to follow his interviews to know what parts are fictionalised? How many people do you think that watched his interview compared to how many watched the show?
One more thing…. If Gadd made it clear that Martha was not convicted irl, why is it that majority of people online believe that she was convicted?
@@Nat_Ash_AIf you watched the show, you'd understand what was dramatized and what was true
As much as I don't like Piers Morgan's politics, he is a very good interviewer so to have Piers and Lorraine interviewing Richard Gadd would be good watching I think.

It’s absolutely right she gets her say. Whether it comes out she’s guilty or not is another matter. If you’re someone who can’t even open their mind to the possibility that Netflix or Richard Gadd could lie about any of this then you’re extremely naive. Great interview
I was arrested, charged , found guilty and imprisoned in a false name -it is more than possible to conceal a conviction.

This man does not know 'Duty of Care', and it's laughable that he says this as though he has any integrity.
lol so true
the part where he asked her "were you ever in love with him" and she saiid "yes" was edited - she actually denied that.
She was obviously fascinated by him, if not in love with him. He was likely the only man who ever showed her some affection and didn't judge her body size.
And he said she wasn’t harassing him 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Correction: she was revealed by the PUBLIC and SHE went to the media who are now exploiting her.
Exactly what Martha would say in BRD if there were just 3 more episodes, going on an interview and blaming Donny for everything that happened
Only a stalker would tell the victim to leave them alone 😂
I thought Piers threaded very caredully. Well done.
She is behaving exactly as depicted in the tv series

I'm not a fan of Piers Morgan, but in this particular case he is not only right, he is amongst the very few that have approached this story in a very nuanced and intellectually honenst way. Well, done Pierse, there's hope for you after all.
Piers has interviewed so many people and some of them have been really scary people but this lady just seemed a little lost, she didn’t come across scary.
Obsessive behaviour won‘t necessarily appear scarey on the surface, but over time, it can be extremely wearing for the person on the receiving end. And if it seems it will never end, that would feel extremely threatening.

Piers needs to look right at end of the series credits. A disclaimer states the program is based on real events, however certain characters, names, incidents, locations and dialogue have been fictionalized for dramatic purposes. So some parts are true and others created. Which ones we don't know???
Piers is an antagonist on almost every issue I ever knew about. Every single body language expert I trust has agreed with my take. She is a liar through and through. I'm sure that some things are not perfect with the series. As far as the convicted stocker? I wonder if she had the conviction overturned for some other reason after the initial conviction.

Why is no one stating that at the end of each netflix episode there is the legal disclaimer about certain people, events etc are dramatised. This blows any argument that piers or anyone else out of the water when they keep stating it is a true story.
What Piers doesnt seem to understand is it isnt slander because neither Richard Gadd nor the show said that FIONA HARVEY herself did any of these things. There is no direct accusation, so legally it cant be slander
It says in the end credits at the end of the episodes that the story is true but some bits have been fictionalised with name changes, etc.
When someone has a drug addiction and a woman/man is calling /texting constantly, what do you expect...they will use poor judgment and give in.
Love you Lorraine!
If you can’t show the clips of the show without blurring them, why show them at all?
Two things with Baby Reinder:
1) The True Story clip appears at the start of episode 1. This is an edit from a scene where the character in a later episode types this out. It's a narrative vehicle to show the character's belief. It is not legitimate message from the production company that the whole series is a true story. I don't believe this appears in the episode where she is convicted.
2) Every episode has a disclaimer at the end of the credits to let the audience know that events, characters etc have been changed for dramatic purposes.
Fiona Harvey can argue the first point but we'll see where this ends up.
There are so many movies & tv shows that say its a true story when it isnt. Remember Blaire Witch Project?
And Fargo 🤷♀️
IMO morally Netflix should pay her a huge sum of money. They have made a huge amount of money from her story without her permission.
I didn’t realise Lorraine decided to pop into work this morn
I will hand it to Piers. he did interview well and I don't really know him.
People may joke but stalking is very serious..if the shoe was on the other foot and the stalker was male people wouldn’t be joking about it
How did I know this was going to happen
LOL, well we never guessed that would happen
Run Piers. Get on the witness protection programme!?! Change your name everything lol
But gadd has already said that part is made up. About the jail sentence. He hadn't the heart to do it himself. He did get a restraining order and that was good enough.
I actually tried to sit through his interview of her this morning. First time I have ever gone to his channel, and last.
I lasted 10 minutes, I so much wanted to see her reaction to this show Baby Reindeer. I just can't stand him, his voice and the fact he is himself a stalker and an abuser.
What did not help was I commented 8 minutes in and one of his 'fans' writes "want a diet coke".
Seeking out his channel for the first time, hardly makes me worthy of being referred to in that manner.
I despise the way he has treated many people, alive and dead. He absolutely makes me ill.
Will stick to readng exerts of it I think.
At least Paul Gadd didn't paint himself as a martyr or saint.
I watched the series, and yes 100% it was probably ramped up in regards to his stalking experience, but I was more mortified about the abuse from the person who took advantage of him, and later moved by his Dads response to that and the church.
Apparently she is going to sue Netflix and Paul. Good luck with that, because it is only defamation if not true.
Fiona said it wasn't her ergo she's in no position to be suing anyone.
I’m confused how the court case could even go.
She’s saying that it’s all made up and none of it happened, so then what could she sue for? If it’s all fake then all Richard did was create a fictional hit tv show.
If it did happen, then she’s a criminal and he has a right to tell his story lol
And the plot thickens 😂
