So Saber Molay is the historical version, while Foreigner is high on Innocent Monster and is the representation of all the legends around the Knights Templar like their treasures and demon-worshiping. That’s really cool.
This is best demonstrated by their different NPs: Saber has Pèlerinage du Temple which is a fire that represents the long history of the Templars, while Foreigner has Vendredi Treize which is a ritual to summon Baphomet.
I love looking at Innocent Monster Servants, they’re always so interesting.
The "deity" can also be construed as Shub-Niggurath, as referenced by the last NP animation stating "The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young".
honestly she's probably the most "intresting" one so far imo since she's both a foreigner and an innocent monster.
I think this one is Shub-Niggurath - her mascot friend looks like a goat, and her NP looks a lot like the description regarding The Black Goat's offspring being a flood of darkness or smth
Not to mention the Black Goat itself could be a reference to Baphomet, a demon that the real life history's templars were accused of worshiping.

The Black Goat of the Forest with a Thousand Young is one of Shub-Niggurath's titles. It is highly likely that the templars in Fate worshipped Baphomet, who was actually Shub-Niggurath - and since part of Baphomet's symbolism is the balance between male and female, and Shub-Niggurath is explicitly female (or at least a "Mother") Molay got genderbent as a result of her worship.
Chances are they're going for Baphomet, or maybe syncretizing Shub and Baph together due to being evil goat gods. Afterall, part of the excommunication of the Knights Templar was due to accusations of heresy and turning away from Christ to worship the devil Baphomet

In fact the very rumor that disbanded them ties to this, they supposedly started worshipping Baphomet.
Molay has the Innocent Monster skill which means they didn't really do this, her Servant version has been affected by legends.
Heard about Aoki through her role only in Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Hou for Nintendo Switch or PS4 as Rika Furude (Yukari Tamura only voices her in the main series) in the chapter called Hinamizawa Bus Stop which was the prototype for the series similar to Fate/Prototype!

Yeah. This is because this is something like Sallieri cranked up to 11, and with an extra hint of Outer God. Saber Jacques represents the ideal Crusader, while Foreigner Jacques embodies the rumors that at least some of the Crusaders worshiped the demon Baphomet. Also, Shub Niggurath got involved.

In short, arcade version is the "good" one while this is the "evil" version.
I just realized something about foreigner servant, that they always have some cute creature or something following them. Well for voyager, xx and xx alter are just being cute in a way.
The only one who doesn’t have a cute companion is Van Gogh, I now wonder what kind of creature she would have

So I am guessing Jaques is possessed by Baphomet/Shub, which is probably why he is female, because she is a fertility goddess. And the rumor to condem the Templars was that they were worshipping Baphomet.

I kind of like the design. It does make me wonder if they will make the saber(male) version from arcade for FGO though and I could see a avenger version of this character aswell.

The little Goat sheep pet might be Shub-niggurath, the god of Dark Fertility. But thats just a guess. It turns into a floaty bear in the 3rd ascension which is weird.

Im guessing Jacques from arcade is historically accurate while this Jacques is the one with the fantastical elements and conspiracies of worshipping baphomet/shub-niggurat. So i think its kinda like the Charles the great Ruler and Charlemagne Saber situation from the Extella games.

I must confess that I prefer by far the arcade version.
Something about how the legend that the Templars started worshipping a goat-like demon (believed to be Baphomet) after turning away from God affected him (basically, this Molay is representing a legend, not true history). But in this case, an Outer God named Shub-Niggurath, another goat-like entity, possesses Molay due to similarities (it is theorized that Lovecraft was inspired by Baphomet’s design when he came up with Shub-Niggurath), only the Outer God in question is a female. And Shub-Niggurath is apparently related to fertility and spreads her influence through beautiful women…or something, which is why Molay is a female now.
Looks cool, but the idea behind the servant scares/unerves me.

I dunno, after her release, I feel pretty much disappointed about current state of foreigner class. When Aby came out I was really thrilled about addition of cosmic horror characters to fgo. But all in all, excluding event servants and voyager, we now have several half-naked girls with tentacles, very similar purple/blue color palette and often a cute mascot. Really? I think that Van Goch is closest we got to otherwordly being but her design is not for everyone. Fanservice is fanservice, but we have totally inhuman Ivan and Xiang Yu....

Basically this is a case of Antonio Salieri, where rumors changed the Spirit origin of a Servant. In this case, the real Jacque is male, but because of the rumors of the Templars worshipping an evil Goat god, And the implications of Shub-Niggurath being involved, this Jacque is female.

@@Caski16 The only thing that's associating Shub-Niggurath and femininity is the fertility. Shub gives birth to thousands of Dark youngs and is worshipped as a Mother Goddess. It's possible that this trait of her has corrupted Molay's Spirit Origin and turns him in to a female.

Neither necessarily, one of two things had happened, either Shubby was the one to genderbend her or it's as simple as that Arcade is a different timeline than Mobile, so some servants will be different, (which is already confirmed as a new Beast is running the show in Arcade not Goetia)

Honestly i do think Voyager is better than Jacques. Even though Voyager's stats is just tad bit lower than her in terms of HP and Atk Voyager has a special damage against sky attribute and he's also has a star attribute.
Jacques could work with Douma and Clytie because she gives some utility to servants that has an evil trait, she gives an evil trait too so you could probably do some synergy with Moriarty

p sure in Sita's case, that's just Rama. they share the same Spirit Origin in Fate, meaning only one or the other can be summoned at a time. Because we have Rama in FGO, we can't have Sita. Because Arcade has Sita, they can't have Rama.
