- Week in my life~ this is a month late haha oops :o tattooing, hanging out with friends, decorating the apartment, hanging out with myself, hanging out with my cats, hanging out with my boyfriend.... just a regular week in my life! I am happy and extremely grateful that I am fortunate enough to be able to set boundaries between my work and personal life. Trying to balance everything is difficult but I think I've reached a point in life where it is getting much easier for me! The Montreal vlog is coming out after this :D i am super excited to edit that one. This week I picked up oil painting again, and I am so happy for that. It feels nice to paint again. Running out of thumbnail title ideas....so we will call all my weekly vlogs as 'tattoo artist diaries' for now hahaha

re: your boyfriend not pulling his weight in cleaning - it might be helpful to broach a conversation about mental load and weaponized incompetence -> how the burden of housework gets shifted from men, who should be more or less equally responsible for the household when both partners work, onto women & the effect that it has on them. it's a tale as old as time! he's really got to make this a priority!
Same problem I had with my ex. I did all the house work and he would always get mad when I asked him to pull his weight (like wash his own clothes and atleast wash the dishes he used). He was living with me for the first time rent free. I tend to hold stuff in too so I related when Jasmine said she got mean and felt bad later. Long story short I ended up in a really bad mental space and had to kick him out. He’s apologized since then but your comment is so important. I just want women to stop raising grown ass men and it to be more of an open discussion about equal work load.

I dont think this is weaponized incompetence. idk about him but she has been living alone for a while and has cleaning habits and a routine. When you start living with someone with different habits, its very normal for conflict to happen. Thats when you talk it out and share responsibilites, which is what they did.
@@anadu187 you're right that I don't know if he's weaponizing it per se - it's just a helpful search term for finding more information about this very common phenomenon! but clearly there is a mental load that she is taking on in their cleaning schedule at the moment. I hope it genuinely gets better
to be honest my parents didn’t have me clean (except my room) when i was younger😅😅😅it was only when i left for college that i started cleaning everything on my own and that took a bit of time- i’m pretty messy too esp when im stressed it’s a disaster but i’m getting better at keeping things clean. that’s why i can understand that my boyfriend is new to this whole ✨cleaning✨ thing! it’s been over a month since i made the chore list so i see a lot of improvement which is great!!! but. also most of the mess was made by me haha so maybe i should be neater too😵💫
the cleaning thing is so interesting to me because i recently read about it and it's a general problem I think because most of the time men are not expected to help with chores while living with their families. but women are so they are more likely to learn how to do it and i think that's really frustratinh but also interesting! tho I think he would figure it out how to do chores if he lived alone (i did and i embarrassingly didn't even know how to use a washing machine) so you shouldn't be obligated to teach him lol he's an adult^^
so like this is only an explanation but not an excuse for him leaving all to work for you to do!!! that's not fair.

I really appreciate your talk about separating the cleaning. I personally have ADHD so I forget/don’t know what to do when it comes to cleaning. I feel guilty when my partner does the work, I can tell he’s upset but doesn’t say anything. I’ll try doing the list thing as well! ♥️

for the chore list you could get a whiteboard and divide it into like “to clean” / “done cleaning” or something. that way when one of you is done with something you can move it to the other side and restart it every week.

Something similar happened to me with my vertical labret, after being perfect for more than a yr, it started acting up and getting irritated all the tiiiime, I was so over it and decided to take it out, miss it but oh well
