    0:42 - Correction, it uses the FreeBSD operating system, not the OpenBSD OS.

    Very cool. I think it’s a good one to know about. I like open media vault.

    If the Flash Drive with the TrueNAS OS on it crashes. How do I recover the files of the system / reactivate the system without loosing data?

      So all of the data are on Zpools just stored on the hard drives, so if the usb cashes for me I would just build a new FreeNAS build and then import the pool. Could be back up in running in about 30 min

    Mr. Rex I will be using this server Dell PowerEdge R320 with a 10 gig connection to my editing rig. I was thinking of 20 GIG of ram and about total of 20 gig of storage two drive parody setup Would this be a good candidate for the TrueNAS core build ?

      If it’s just you 20 gig of ram should be fine. How many drives are you going to be running?

    I simply cant figure out why Truenas r/w speeds are like 2-3mbps but OMV5 is 100+ with the same setup :(

    • @SpaceRexWill
      @SpaceRexWill  Před 3 lety

      How slow is your CPU? ZFS needs a decent CPU and direct connection to the drives
