Hated Raptor and Crystal Ball as a kid who lived everything gi joe but now as an adult, they are some of my favorites. The crazy backstory on them is what I have grown to love
Raptor and Crystal Ball were two of my all-time favorites. I didn't really get into GI Joe as a kid until they started adding all the colorful odd characters who were straight up sci-fi/fantasy/super-hero-esque. Especially the villains. Also love that Scarlett. I still need to get one as an adult collector. 25 bucks for Crystal Ball & 25 for Ninja Scarlett? Those are scores, sir. Finding Entrapta with her hair not a janky mess is also a big score.
I received Raptor and Crystal Ball for Christmas. They were the only toys I received that year and I remember specifically asking for no toys because I was too old for them at 11. 😂 I also received NES which is what I really wanted.
That is so hilarious about the raptor/crystal ball phenomenon. This will probably help with your push to get them! My joe run is 82 to 86 but my last figure I remember getting was Raptor. I remember distinctly taking him out of packaging. Take a long look and thinking...yeah, I think I'm good! And was done after that. He along w Boa are my least liked. Hilarious that so many agree regarding Raptor
Yeah Crystal ball was unique, he looked like Vincent price so he was always up to mischief! I was not so keen on the Ninja force line because of the reduced articulation, however Tj' bang was one of my all time fave!
Toys is my life. Though I don't own any Vintage MOTU Figures and G.I.Joe Figs, I still enjoyed watching your channel. You're truly Awesome Host of the Show Pixel Dan. Thanks for sharing. 😎👍👍
Hey Dan. To me even though Cristal Ball and Raptor were not that popular I really liked them n I have them both. Major Bludd is another Gi.Joe action figure that wasn’t that popular but, I need to add to my collection still.
I've spent the last 4 years recreating almost all the vintage Gi Joe figures using figures from the Marauder Gun Runners line. It's been so much fun sculpting, painting and buying parts to make all those figures look like the amazing Gi Joes that I had and always wanted during my childhood (oddly enough I didn't make any ninja force figures... I wonder why? 🤔). I currently have a design ready for Crystal Ball and have considered doing Raptor, but he's a rough figure to justify putting into my line of Joes lol. Anyway, thanks for the video and your haul is pretty awesome (except those ninjas 🤮). I think my favorite is that Joe box set. Those are awesome!
LOl got to love friends who know you so well that they get Items you looked over and then suprise you with it later on down the line, So many great toy places and Wow some toy ideas I did not know existed like that Insectors Playset looked a little like Snake mountain inside the lower mountain. Great to see you able to be guests selling your book and stuff :).
No way I loved Raptor! Can't wait to get him again in classified form someday. Now the Crystal Ball shield guy was a massive peg warmer just like Chuckles back in the day.
A mosquito biting Mosquitor? That's interesting. Entrapta is cool. I've always loved Crystal Ball, but I do remember him staying on the shelves a long time. I don't remember Raptor staying on the shelves though. I like that BAT six pack too. I got mine through the mail back when it first came out.
I actually had that Rambo playset as a kid because it was probably on clearance and super cheap, I believe I also had the chopper. You got weird stuff when you were on the toys for tots list back then
It takes balls to sing the praises of the Cobra Hypnotist. 😏In all seriousness, Crystal Ball's accessory does help elevate the toy's appeal. Furthermore, he had a memorable role as "master of psychological tactics and Inquisitor General" in G.I. Joe Cobra II #2 ("Scales"). This issue went on sale February 24th, 2010 written by Mike Costa & Christos N. Gage with art by Antonio Fuso. That run deserves way more recognition.
When it comes to GI Joe, BATS are my weakness. I have one of every version ever released from 86 up and it’s always cool to see someone else fall in with them
Esas colecciones de Ghostbuster, Rambo, Thundercats, TMNT son espectaculares yo las tengo, pero el Alien Glow es espectacular 👌🏻 de lujo Pixel Dan 👋🏻🙂🇦🇷👏🏻
The prices looked great Dan, I’m an 80s child and collect GI Joe Classified, I’m in the UK and we don’t tend to get Toy shows like this in the Uk, although NEC Toy fair in Birmingham UK is really good for this sort of thing
That was a really fun time going there Months ago I was actually there celebrating my birthday with my mother that day. It was really fun meeting you and I hope your son enjoyed that origins beastman figure I gave to you sure was a fun time to go around and get cool things I can’t wait to meet you next year at power con, pixel down and you’re going to meet my friend who is a huge fan of you
I collected Cops n Crooks in the 80's, I even have a few loose in my collection and to hear there is a company trying to do it in 3.75 just added a whole new collection to the pile. I thank you for your content good Sir
I had two Crystal Ball figures as a kid. I was never a G.I. Joe "collector" so any G.I. Joe I got as a kid became either Lex Luthor or the Joker's henchmen. Others became stand ins for other characters.
I did the restoration on that Entrapta last year and sold it to that vendor in 2022. 😂 I have 2 more I’m working on that will be much better, cause they have their full length hair and can do the double twist like her original hairstyle once cleaned up. I’ll be happy to swap ya next time you are in town! …I may even have some accessories… 😉
I had the Crystal Ball figure as a kid. Always thought he had a demonic look to him and creeped me out a bit. I had more deep cut characters as a kid since the classic originals weren't in the stores anymore by the time I started collecting GI Joes.
So I had the blue talking cobra commander as a kid and that big back pack got into the way, but I figured out u can unscrew the pack off with a small screwdriver
LOL Yeah I think I could already told you that. If it is a show you would find others. When I went to Botcon back in the days for transformers. My main focus. I have seen vendors carry other items. I remember too only thing not allowed to carry was 3rd Party unlicensed stuff. If it was ran by hasbro. Which I could see why. So Yes I know, back at bot con. I found several Sailor Moon Items back in the day I picked up as well. I am surprised they had that $600 figure Zartan Just laying there. I wouldn't trust that. I saw At retrocon. They had a carded TMNT Hot spot for $1 grand. Almost tempted at that price.
Hi dan i lovvve your content and masters of the universe, unfortunately since most of the recent waves have been walmart/target exclusives and are really expensive to get here and after shipping costs its just not worth it, still holding out for the cartoon collection though, the look really cool, i am always exited to see your videos and always get exited, i am also super exited for the gravestone gurardians figures 👋 ❤❤❤, i have started to comment on alot of your videos now since i love your content and all, bye 👋 ❤❤❤❤
Aso I recently got your book for my birthday and I am loooving it so far its soo cool and I look forward to reading it every night after a rough day ❤❤
I had a bunch of G.I.Joe when I was little mostly the neon color ones. I can't remember any of their names and I order a lot of stuff because there's just no place to buy stuff like this where I live. So if you know the name of the first guy he picks up with the big red talking backpack he's looks like a gold and green robot thing. If you know and read this please let me know . Or maybe there's a book with all the Joe's in it 😂😂😂 if not ....should be.
That's definitely Talking Battle Commanders Overkill version 1 from 1992. It's the same mold used for version 4 eleven years later seen in this video at 16:45. If you already own The Toys of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe hardcover, consider getting The Art of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Omnibus hardcover by Robert Carson Mataxis at 3DJoes. The latter will include 712 pages which is just 40 fewer than Pixel Dan's comprehensive tome.
My dad collects G I joe, and I know he would loose his mind looking for the ones he still needs, such an awesome convention

Nice finds Dan! Supposedly Crystal Ball's file card was written by Stephen King. Also his son has a GI Joe character called Sneak Peek.
Yup. All 100% true. Sneak Peek’s hometown is even Bangor, Maine :)
@@GearsLGLF Being from Maine myself, I came to the comments looking for these two posts. 👍
This is awesome! I had no idea
I received Raptor and Crystal Ball for Christmas. They were the only toys I received that year and I remember specifically asking for no toys because I was too old for them at 11. 😂 I also received NES which is what I really wanted.
One particular thing I love about this channel is the old toy adverts that were never shown in the UK.

Lol! Comment about Raptor cracked me up. I had one as a kid and LOVED him. Great stuff as always Dan!

It was great to finally meet you at that DFW G.I.JOE show! Glad I pick up your book too! If you ever need help or have G.I.JOE questions, let me know!

Hi Pixel Dan, congrats for these great figures and thank you very much, blessings 🤘
Dan staring the video with that shirt saying “I came out” as a guest. 😂
Scarlett is the only Ninja Force figure I have, but now I'm on the lookout for more. I love the Shockmaster reference.
No way I loved Raptor! Can't wait to get him again in classified form someday. Now the Crystal Ball shield guy was a massive peg warmer just like Chuckles back in the day.
Hit and run, the best gi joe I had as a kid. Took it everyday to school

Cool show and finds 😎 👌
That lego GI joe set looks amazing easily my favorite toy at the show
It's one of my favorite local cons. It's GI Joe themed, but I always find cool stuff there, and I've never bought anything GI Joe for myself.
Cool selection of toys there especially the Joe & Cobra figures.
It takes balls to sing the praises of the Cobra Hypnotist. 😏In all seriousness, Crystal Ball's accessory does help elevate the toy's appeal. i love raptor and crystal ball. played with them alot. cant wait for them to come to classified.
That LEGO Cobra Base looks so Clean I want it!
When it comes to GI Joe, BATS are my weakness. I have one of every version ever released from 86 up and it’s always cool to see someone else fall in with them

This was a fun tour thank You so Much for sharing
Amazing Finds 🔥💯
"Brett Bretterson isn't real. You made him up."
Stephen King's Crystal Ball is awesome and needs a classified figure.
That was a really fun time going there Months ago I was actually there celebrating my birthday with my mother that day. Loving the B.A.T. set - especially the red ones. As a kid, my black one was in constant use.
The glow Roswell Alien is a sneak hit! I want one!
Enjoyed this.
Love the channel.
Appreciate the good energy vibe.
Fantastic Joe pickups. Lol it's funny cause I go for the Weird figures myself.
11:27 hell yeah! there's MY joe's!!! battle corps and star brigade!!! I had both of those, metal head & duke
I attended/enjoyed the show as well, I ended up getting that Mosquitor you mentioned in your video. 🙃
Thanks for the new video! Let Pixel Dan cook!
Raptor was one of the three GI JOE figures I had as a kid, and I've still got it!
Okay so yeah I'll be on the lookout for the wendigo and werewolf Old West figures announcement. Those are too cool!
Man I wish I still had my Rambo figured
I love ninja force Scarlett. She deserved more vintage figures than she got.
And those are the 90’s BATs mold. Not the 86 version. I remember getting that pack. I was confused by it lol
Lmao at “I guess all that ninja force hunting as paid off”
Dan that shirt is incredible!
I LOVED the GI Joe Ninja Force line!
I had two Crystal Ball figures as a kid. I was never a G.I. Joe "collector" so any G.I. Joe I got as a kid became either Lex Luthor or the Joker's henchmen. Others became stand ins for other characters.
I’d absolutely love Marvel Legends to do a full Secret Wars tribute wave or at least some more 2 packs
More good stuff at DFW. Very nice Dan. Appreciate the coverage.
Congrats in slowly getting into GI Joe. Until Next Time. 🙂
Those Black BAT's are version 2 in version 1 colors. They look cool. Nice set for armybuilding
Great Video! Thanks Dan for showing us another cool show!
OMG new cops n crooks figures 🤯
I did the restoration on that Entrapta last year and sold it to that vendor in 2022. 😂 I have 2 more I’m working on that will be much better, cause they have their full length hair and can do the double twist like her original hairstyle once cleaned up. I love crystal ball since he looks like Vincent price and falconer is so rad complete !
nice pickups, brother.
I had the Crystal Ball figure as a kid. Always thought he had a demonic look to him and creeped me out a bit. I had more deep cut characters as a kid since the classic originals weren't in the stores anymore by the time I started collecting GI Joes.
Yeah, that B.A.T. set is really cool, but those are not the vintage B.A.T. molds. Those were new ones made for that early 2000's line.
Crystal Ball, Big Boa, Raptor and Croc Master are my favorite Cobra figures
We didn't know what we had when we could buy Funskool joes for like $5 a piece.
Wow, that TMNT shirt is incredible!
So I had the blue talking cobra commander as a kid and that big back pack got into the way, but I figured out u can unscrew the pack off with a small screwdriver
I wonder when you’ll do a G.I. Joe book.
Ninja Force is awesome and so are Crystal Ball and Raptor. Weird GIJoe is the best GIJoe
I just wanted to say I LOVE that TMNT shirt you’ve got on! So cool!

I ended up getting that NorDor at this show!
Beautiful ❤

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I LOVE IT DAN KEEP IT UP JOES ARE THE BEST
I WANT A PINK SORCERESS ❤❤❤
I ❤ Raptor and Crystal Ball was cool.
that's not Crystal Ball, that's Paulie from The Sopranos!
nordor is my dream playset and starship eternia
Hey Dan you going to the Chicago toy show Oct 22?
You are not a real terrorist group without a hypnotist, a alligator wrangler, and a bird watcher!
Raptor is alright. But yeah, Crystal Ball sucks.
So does Armored Cobra Commander. Sorry, Dan.
Also, I thought your favorite MOTU vehicle was Roton?
bro the sounds just cut off randomly at the end.
can I get your book? is it on amazon??
😅😅😅💀 Force > Raptor + Crystal Ball
do you still have your ninja turtles toys because i never got to have any tmnt toys
Ninja force Scarlet was ruined by her gimmick. Well that's what I think.
