Texas school shooting: Victim's mother reacts to new CCTV footage of police inaction

- The video is as haunting as it is troubling, showing 18-year-old gunman Salvador Ramos casually walking towards the classroom where he will murder 19 children and two teachers.
The footage shows that police officers waited 77 minutes before confronting and killing the gunman.

I’ve never seen so much cowardice in my entire life. Especially that overweight officer who went running for his life as soon as a shot was fired. Their disgrace is unfathomable
Which overweight officer? There were so many to choose from, and **all** of them went running at the first sign of trouble. This culture of "everyone goes home" has made our police dangerous to innocents, and useless in the face of real criminals.

@@blopp6240 no he couldn't because he already killed everyone and he was trapped in the classroom. He already shot his 100 rounds within minutes. Some ten minutes later he shot another like 4 shots and then he stopped. Why is the police to be blamed ?
I'm truly shocked one of the officers did not realize the camera was there and attempt to destroy it to cover up evidence.

I'm pretty sure one of them put their finger over the body cam when his footage was being shown, so yeah, absolutely they knew they were screwing up badly.

That video was hard to watch, just hearing the gunshots I can just close my eyes and just imagine the screams. These cops are really cowards and should be ashamed, it's not her fault at all that she left her baby at school. She had no idea of knowing this would happen. What's the point? This will push shooters to softer targets: churches, supermarkets, bars, hospitals. And they'll keep moving to even softer targets as those in turn gain protection. It either ends with armed security on every street corner and building or it ends with gun control. Thank F I don't live in America.

Felix Rubio (father of Lexi Rubio) could have gone in but he waited around the corner with his rifle and protective gear just like every other cop for 30 minutes.
And during the 77 minutes it never occurred to a single officer (including Felix) to pick up one of numerous level 4 shields, open the door, and close the distance.

He was an untrained 18 year old with a hunting rifle. A poor, one at that. How did he get hold of 90,000 dollars worth of weapons and vehicles? Why do the people in this video look extremely disingenuous and blahzay about the whole situation, from the "mother" "crying" to the crowds "crying" and the police just stood around doing nothing like there wasn't any threat at all. It is all a lie. And look, even if it was true, there were parents running into the school that would've been armed that would've easily stopped the shooter because they actually cared about what was happening. But the police pepper sprayed them and made damn sure that no one was allowed to see what was really going on in there. Lies lies lies.

90% of cases Shooters kill classmates due to mental health problems, be it due to an inferiority complex, or sociopathy. It’s such an obvious answer to stop this type of violence, but nobody wants to act on it. It’s always more guns this, less guns that. This cycle will keep spinning until someone makes the issues of mental health, and getting help more socially normal.
