Born in 1948, I have watched Jonathan Winters perform on television most of my life and love him so much. It is wonderful to be able to look back on 75 years of being entertained by really talented people - until recent times, that is.
Johnny Carson without question was and will always be the benchmark for a talk show host.and comedian!! His blank looks at the perfect time and the quick come backs were iconic!!!
I do miss these wonderful shows with Johnny Carson. Jonathan Winters always entertaining and Johnny's and Eds laughing is truthful not fake. Great memories
Yes! They really do stand the test of time. Nobody will watch Colbert or the other nonsense 50 years from now. But Johnny and many of his fantastic guests you can watch and re-watch every now and then. Legends, all of them.
He could imitate so many folks in many hilarious sounding voices. I also had the pleasure of watching this guy with my pop. Great laughs and always entertaining in a good clean way.
Watching some of these this early morning on the West Coast, hunkering down at home during the Coronavirus situation, i just kept thinking I wish someone like this lived next door to me. What a marvelous time we would have had telling stories and cracking up over clever lines here and there. I bet he was a wonderful man to have as a friend. Good times to be sure. Thanks for posting this.
I'm doing the 2020 Hunker dance. Currently I'm healthy. I have a house full of food and TP and enough Seagram's to float a battleship. I'm binge watching Carson. Johnathan Winters and a few drinks will help me get through this. I'm still here and doing well. Thank you Lord and God bless everyone at this most trying time.
Oh me too , he was th best ,now that I'm older I appreciate him even more , I grew up watching Jonny every night , they just don't.make like they use too .glad I grew up when I did ,
Jonathan....anytime can make ya laugh....when he gets going and cracks Johnny up is the best. So many things, his characters, facial expressions, how he says something, the eyeroll....just too funny!!!
I m an artist who Jonathan commissioned art work from . I d finish it and deliver it and we'd talk for a couple hours about art. He loved painting and paintings as well Native Americans portrayed in art.
I remember reading about Winters struggling with depression. It's good to hear him talking about taking his grown son fishing. I hope that they kept a good relationship going.
I loved the "More To Come" cartoons that indicated the show was back from a commercial break. As to Mr. Carson and Mr. Winters themselves a Talk Show Comedy Mount Rushmore summit meeting and then some!😂B.W.
He just passes a little time with Johnny, Ed and the audience like a favorite funny uncle. No pressure to perform. It's nice seeing Jonathan Winters so relaxed, because you get the feeling that it was a needed break from some very dark times.
You got to see him in the Frank Sinatra roast him and Dean Martin when Jonathan Winters does his term you will be rolling in the aisles absolutely one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life
You are kidding me, right? Ed McMahon has basically been the announcer for "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" ever since its first airing on October 1, 1962 to Johnny's last show on May 22, 1992. That's three decades and you've never heard of him? I hope you're being sarcastic by saying that.
Well, he needed a good guest, but when he had respect for and rapport with his guests the way he did with, say, Winters or Dangerfield or Rickles, then he was at his best.
I could literally watch hours of Jonathan just holding up his paintings on screen and delivering the titles. Of course he was a comic genius, but the combination of that part of his improv talent combined with his artistic skill is simply incomparable, well, VERY hard to compare to, to me. I used to study abstract and surrealist art and he never came up at a class session. It was a friend who had one of his published books of his paintings and I looked at them and fell into a trance of just surreal bliss while bursting out laughing. There are others, but there is no other.
I tip my cap,to those all time greats from yesteryear!!..they unleashed lots of good time laughs, for all of us to enjoy!!...thanks for the cherished memories!!⌛
'If there are no fish there, then I don't know, probably go to Singapore for a few days.' Classic off the cuff line from Winters that will never stop making me laugh.
Great to see such genuine warmth between those two and listening to what each other had to say. Unlike so many of today's hosts who have to make the whole show about themselves.
This guy made me believe in comedy along with the rest of them but I’m just saying is that night and I love you God bless him wherever he is I know he’s in heaven begging somebo
Growing up during the Great Depression and World War II would likely do a lot to accelerate the aging process, no matter how good of health you may have had, otherwise. My father was born roughly six months after the Depression began, and my mother was born in what was perhaps the worst year of the Depression. Both went through a lot during their lives, and are hopefully in a far better place now, than the one that we have to live in, here in 2020.
They dont have comedians like Winters or Carson. I wish comedians would take notice that clean comedy is what wins the People. I miss Winters & Carson.

I owned a restaurant in old Town Pasadena back in the late 70s and Jonny and his wife came in often, autographed a wall for us, great guy
I'm watching the 70s TV show "Family" for the first time. Never watched a show that was in Pasadena.
Wow! What a treat!
Jonny had the best Best on his show, we need that today ,
I Agree never missed episode nightly thing back in day
No one can rise to the level of Johnny Carson - no one. The young kids today have no concept of quality entertainment!
Always loved Jonathan Winters.
You can tell they really like each other. Miss them both.

Jonathans comedy is one of a kind...the great kind!
Intelligent humor. You can see he was a smart man.
@@m.e.d.7997 His mind was always rolling and thinking ahead of himself, a little like Robin Williams but much less annoying!
@@dalegribble60 Too fast and all over the place, not funny. Jonathan was and I loved his calm delivery.
@@dalegribble60 Johnny C was a fan of Robin Williams though.
@@m.e.d.7997 and Johnathan's facial expressions!
Absolutely outstanding show!

Man, do I miss these guys, and entertainers of that era.
Bright, witty and unpredictable. Sweet and always makes you wondering, "What's next?" Wish we had more of his ilk today!!

My UNCLE would steal a line or two from from this MAN. It was GREAT.
An era gone by. RIP. It truly was a great ride.
I wish he had come over to the UK more , his humour would have gone down very well . He had the style of our great comics .
Great paintings!
Yes those were the good days when comedy was real not vulgar and healthy even today....what a world back then and not a waste.
His facial expressions kills me and he knows how to tell a joke! LMAO!
A tremendous genius !!! Amen 🙏
He just passes a little time with Johnny, Ed and the audience like a favorite funny uncle. No pressure to perform. It's nice seeing Jonathan Winters so relaxed, because you get the feeling that it was a needed break from some very dark times.
Total opposite of Rickles. And Jonathan never insulted.
@@m.e.d.7997
Ditto comic geniuses Laurel and Hardy. Never did what Lettermen etc did
Real honest down to earth
One of the best!

Miss Jonathan Winters and Johnny Carson. Both Rest in Peace.
Also Ed, don't forget Ed. He's gone too.
Ed who?
+Bill M Ed as in Ed McMahon. The show's announcer.
never heard of him.

Johnny was the best host and interviewer.. brought out the best in his guests. Laughed easily and meant it.
Well, he needed a good guest, but when he had respect for and rapport with his guests the way he did with, say, Winters or Dangerfield or Rickles, then he was at his best.
@@cwpo1973 I think Johnny was good with almost all guests.

'If there are no fish there, then I don't know, probably go to Singapore for a few days.' Classic off the cuff line from Winters that will never stop making me laugh.
I love the woman cracking up in the audience. I feel like I hear her laugh in other Jonathan Winters appearances.
Great to see such genuine warmth between those two and listening to what each other had to say. Unlike so many of today's hosts who have to make the whole show about themselves.
Best of all time.

213 dislikes? Who doesn't like Jonathan Winters?
People who watch Kimmels ‘n Bits, Jimmy Fallon and Colbert cheese.
People who have no appreciation for true entertainment. What pass for entertainment today is total liberal garbage!😎
How did you get the number of dislikes?
@@kevinf9822 They used to show the amount of dislikes above, next to the likes. A few years ago, Facebook stopped showing amount of dislikes.
