  • (ciro589m here) My dad just gave to me these two Teufel Theater 500S speakers as a gift. They sound very pleasant with a very good punch and crisp trebles and can get very loud too, they handle lot of power. That's why they need a minimum requirement of 50w RMS to make them move as they're not very efficient (just 86dB).
They're actually speakers made for home Theater systems to be used as "satellites", but they're fine even used as standard 2way bookshelf speakers. Just keep in mind that they don't get THAT low on bass, they're more on punchy bass.
Woofer driver is an high-excursion 6" with Kevlar cone and rubber surround, barely moves with low volumes, pretty stiff driver. In this video I was pushing them a lot! Near max volume on a NAD C 368 (80w rms). The amp is my dad's, he just borrowed to me for a little.
Tweeter driver is a 1" horn-loaded silk dome tweeter. Yes, that horn looks like a midrange driver even tho it's actually just an horn made to look like a driver. Not the best thing but looks good to me and it has a function: the horn makes the tweeter to be more omnidirectional but as said the "midrange looking" thing it's here just for an aesthetic choice.
I love the design, that little stand on the bottom makes the speaker to look like very good. Under it there's a downfiring bass port that never has port noises, even on very high volumes with high excursions, as you can see in this video.
