  • In this video we test the Nissan Kicks, an affordable electric vehicle with a built in generator. This affordable electric vehicle in the Philippines is a great start for the sustainable electrification of vehicles. The Kicks has a powerful motor, comfortable and quiet ride and can do impressive fuel mileage for the generator. Our video has an interior and exterior look, specifications, test drive, good and bad and our verdict for the car. The Nissan Kicks goes against crossovers like the Geely Coolray, Changan Cs35, Honda HRV, Toyota Corolla Cross, Chevrolet Tracker, but with tech it goes head to head with the Mitsubishi Outlander, Chery Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV, Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, BMW iX and even Tesla.

    Sa tingin ko need pa ng 1 pang video discussing common questions like
    1. Lifespan ng battery at cost of replacement
    2. Cost of ownership at computation during the lifecycle ng kicks.
    3. Wading depth pag dinaan sa baha. Makukuryente kaba dahil sa battery? ahahahah
    4. Between VE at VL 200k difference pero parang hindi ganun ang value ng upgrade
    5. Comparison sa ibang sasakyan within that price range

    I think most people here mistake the battery as lead acid that we usually replace every 2-3 years in gas cars. Etrikes use lead acid. Most modern electric cars use lithium ion. There is degradation but very minimal. See the history of nissan leaf and other electric cars.

    What’s the difference between adaptive cruise control from just cruise control?
    Thanks RIT

    • @RiTRidinginTandem
      @RiTRidinginTandem  Před rokem +8

      Adaptive cruise merong automatic brakes and gas pwede siya sumunod sa speed ng kotse nasa unahan. Cruise control set speed ka lang e.g. 80kmph pako ka dun kahit may kotse sa unahan mo 80kph ka pa rin mamemreno ka para bumagal. Sa adaptive siya na kusa gas at preno

    • @paulenyaw8085
      @paulenyaw8085 Před rokem +6

      Adaptive cruise control basics
      Adaptive cruise control (ACC) is an intelligent form of cruise control that slows down and speeds up automatically to keep pace with the car in front of you. The driver sets the maximum speed - just as with cruise control - then a radar sensor watches for traffic ahead, locks on to the car in a lane, and instructs the car to stay 2, 3, or 4 seconds behind the person car ahead of it (the driver sets the follow distance, within reason). ACC is now almost always paired with a pre-crash system that alerts you and often begins braking.

      Full EV po ang nissan kicks. Hindi kasi involve ang 1.2L engine sa drivetrain, purely ang electric motor lang ang connected sa drivetrain.
      The 1.2L engine just serves as a generator to charge the battery that powers the electric motor.

      Kei cars will never be sold here. You think it's safe until a bus, truck, jeepney and other larger cars hit you. We have more traffic accidents than Japan and they are more disciplined there. It being slightly smaller makes no difference on the road anyway since you will still be considered a regular car here (no tax breaks) and will occupy the same space too. Makes no sense tbh.
      It will also be very costly for manufactures to make left hand drive versions of their JDM kei cars too. Kei cars officially being sold here is nothing but a pipe dream.

    Not in the review are some keypoints to consider when buying Nissan Kicks.
    1) Battery replacement is around 200k. So all your savings from your gas will go here, and it will still be not enough.
    2) Battery life as per Nissan can be between 5-8 years.
    3) The warranty of the battery is only 5 years in PH, while 10 years in Thailand.
    4) You have to maintain 2 engines, electric and combustion, plus your generator. So, goodluck with the maintenance.

    Kung totoo ang price ng replacement battery at present is 275k, considering the annual average inflation rate ng Pinas na 8.5%, (275k x .085 = 23,375) (23,375 x 5 years = 116,875) 116,875 plus 275k = 391,875 na ang price ng battery, 5 years from now, tama po ba?
    And in 5 years, ang Kicks ay makaka takbo ng 150,000 km, divided by 22, which is the fuel efficiency, ito ay makaka consume ng 6,818 liters. Now if we divide 391,875( cost ng new battery para makatakbo muli) by 6,818 liters, ang naging additional cost mo per liter ay 57.47 pesos per liter. So, ano na ang mangyayari sa fuel efficiency ng unit?
    Kung isama po natin ang 57 pesos cost per liter sa fuel cost mo noong nag daang limang taon, ang fuel efficiency ay aabot nalang po, more or less, ng 12.5km/liter.
    So, hindi na sya fuel efficient, kung titingnan ng maigi, as claimed by Nissan Phils.

    • @dennissalazar7112
      @dennissalazar7112 Před rokem

      12.5km/liter is still more fuel efficient than other cars in the same segment. If you use the car or the battery even more than the 5 years warranty then the effective fuel consumption would still be more. Remember warranty does not mean after it expires the object of the warranty will stop working. Same as with other cars that offers 5 years or even 3 years warranty as in the case of Toyota and still these cars still runs way beyond the warranty period.

      In 5 years time hindi ka naman magpapalit ng battery. Ang ipad ko 5 years old na. Hindi naman pinalitan ng battery. Kaya pa ang 10 years. In 10 years time laspag na kahit pure gas yung engine.

    pwede naman pala sana lagyan ng alternator connecting sa rotating part na kahit uphill or normal run will generate electricity to charge the battery all the time. hindi lang sa regenerative braking, plus factor pa pag may solar pannel. so pag dating mo sa papauntahan, halos walang bawas ang battery mo.

    Masaya talaga magdrive ng mga evehicle, kahit yung ebike nga naeenjoy ko at ng family ko mayat maya namin gamit compare sa degasolina namin. Basta alagaan lang ang battery.
    Tingin ko sa battery nyan bago madegrade ng ilang years may lalabas ng upgrade kaya mas magmumura ang maintenance sa battery mas magiging affordable at efficient sya, I don't think magiging malaking problema ang battery dyan in the future, hindi isusugal ng Nissan ang pangalan ng company nila dahil sa battery 😃.
