Halo Infinite crashing after latest Nvidia GPU driver installation

- Did you just update to Nvidia's 526.47 Driver? Did you try to play Halo infinite only to find the game won't stop crashing as hard as the stock market recently!? Well you are in luck. Just roll back to an older version of the driver and you can skool newbs in no time. Like and subscribe if this helped!!
Here is the 522.25 Game Ready driver;

Just download the .exe file and run, do the express installation and you are good to go! You can delete the .exe file after installing as the files are saved where they need to be. Or you can keep in a folder just in case future drivers suck as well. I usually keep about 2 in a folder. I also switch between studio and game ready depending on how many videos I export.

My PC kept on blue screening and I was for sure it was the GPU or CPU that was dying. I replaced the memory and put a different GPU in the same thing happened. I saw this video and after a whole day of tinkering it was the drivers. Thank you for this

This worked, thank you sooo much! I just built my machine last week & had been playing Halo with no problem for the past 2 days. Forgot I updated my Nvidia driver yesterday and spent all day today with game crashes. I even went as far as resinstalling windows & setting up my machine again which wasted 3 hours of my life.
That's why i made this video!! I got so pissed off. First rule of IT look up the issue. If someone else has figured out a solution use their triumph to save your pain. If someone else has the same issue and has solved it, it will make your life easier. I was cussing up a storm when it kept crashing. Also the high resolution textures in the dlc tab on steam have been known to cause issues in game, turn that off for better performance. Link in description.

Hey guys i noticed 522.25 still working so good, even in different new games, the only problem is Halo infinite has a serious issue with initial loading times, at the time you launch the game takes 4- 6 mins even if you have the fastest SSD. I think it has to do with nvidia and loading shaders incorrectly.
Yea another one of the newer ones was causing crashes.. I reverted back to an older one again. That game is the worst optimized game i have ever played.

I tried everything, watched all the videos concerning the crashes on this halo, I spent two nights on this and despite the rollback of the nvidia drivers the games still crashed... I always got this error message when I launches from steam "Incompatible operating system version. Please update your operating system to windows 10 1809...", I also specify that my windows is update, any idea?
You could try verifying the install first. In steam go to library then right click on the game. Go to local files tab then click verify integrity of game files. Then double check windows is updated. Go to settings then update and security. See if you need to do updates and do them. I would uninstall halo completely then reinstall if that doesn't work. Hope that helps

Same on Red Dead Online, massiv micro stuttering and also in Mount and Blade 2 and many other Games. Buged like Hell. Well Done Nvidia right now to Helloween. 💩 522 is also buged. The Same Problems. The best Way is going back to 517.

I haven't tried the newer one but 517.48 works for me as well as the 522 version. Links in description. First link is the 522 second is the manual search. Glhf feel free to ask more. I will try out the new one tonight.
I have GTX 1660 TI, it aint an option. Cant tell if its good or bad
Hmm do you have geforce experience installed? Check what driver you should be using.
I was just wondering this glad I'm not the only one, I verified the game files, put it on low settings, Uninstalled and reinstalled, updated windows and gpu and nothing works, now I find its the driver hope the fix it

Glhf let me know if you have any more questions. I will check these comments throughout today. Also turn off the multiplayer high res textures in the dlc tab on steam. That has been known to cause issues.

Just download the .exe file from the link. And double click on it. It will overwrite the other other. Your screen(s) will go blank for a little bit and audio will cutout. Should only take about two mins. You can confirm after by opening geforce experience. On the driver tab it will show the older one. Don't let it reinstall the new one
Me and my buddy just discovered this issue today. We both have RTX 3070s.

dammit i reinstalled my windows 4 times, win10, and win 11. it kept crashing. had to reset all my gpu and cpu settings bla bla bla. then I was like, wait, what if it's the drivers. rolled back to 517.40, boom it's working. damn you Nvidia

I wonder if you can help me since you look know how to handle those drivers. I bought a new PC and I did not know why the audio sucks in my Razer headset. I mean, I know what it is now, it's the realtek driver. So I updated but every time I turn off my PC it goes back with terrible audio as before the update. So everytime I need to update my driver again. Also when it is updating it asks to reboot the PC but after doing that it enters in a loop that always asks for rebooting PC and never ends the update itself, forcing me to cancel it and then it work properly until I turn off the PC again.

That's frustrating! My suggestion would be if its a prebuilt from a big company find the website and the model. Then re download the driver there. Audio driver problems suck too.
The driver issue isnt onyl for halo, its also effecting mw2 and ow2 for me, yet works fine for league.

It crashed at first. I am literally starting a big team battle now. I might even go back to the driver before this. I am sure that is the one I had. Haven't updated for a bout a month.
Was able to make it through an entire BTB CTF match after rolling back. Before rolling back it was crashing within a minute or two of starting a match. So it seems to be working.

Yea i wish they still had last man standing. That was the best mode in my opinion i also hope they add zombies.
I don’t understand with halo infinite, if I back out exiting the game, and restart the game it doesn’t work I have to completely restart my pc than it will be ok sometimes how do I fix that, it’s annoying as hell. And it takes super long to load a game yah I’m using an 7200rpm hdd but never it was this bad.this is the new driver GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 526.61
I would still roll back. Hot fixes arent as good as a non buggy one.

Links in description. Use the second link. Type in gpu info. Do the 517.48 driver. It will download a .exe file. Once downloaded double click on file. It will overwrite the old driver. Just do the express installation. Once installed delete the .exe file.
Wel my pc keeps crashing with the newest Nvidia drivers. It runs the game for a few minutes then a hard crash or freezes up and then people say only AMD drivers suck 😂🤣😂

Hello. Take a deep breath. Triton is here to save the day! Yes. I would roll back to an old driver. In the future allow at least a week or so when new drivers are available. Then search for that driver number then issues in games you play. If you dont find any try it out. I recommend having at least 3 drivers in a folder at all times. That way if the new one acts up. Just roll back to the last known good driver amd save the headache. Then wait for a different one.

@@TritonTv69420 i download 552.22 latest nvidia drivers and its crashing on benchmark tool and gpu based games so i just download 457.51 for rtx 3070 its working now but why my 3070 is crashing in 552.22
i deleted all nvidia drivers and it gave me 457.51 automatically
Nvidia is pretty quick to fix bad drivers or at least change what their website and geforce experience is giving you. Save a folder on you desktop with a few you know works. Then always delete the one that is bad. That way as soon as you find a bad one just revert headache free.

the game is still crashing for me! shame, I reeeeeally wanted to test some forge maps. I rolled back to 522, 517, verified my files, and updated windows, and I still crash instantly when spawning into a match. I don't think it's the textures, either, because I've had no problems playing on them in the past and I have a plenty powerful PC for my settings. Any other ideas, folks?
Try disabling the textures it caused a lot of issues for me and my pc is pretty dope. Also turn off the steam fps overlay. The ingame overlay works and for some reason the steam overlay causes issues at least from what i have seen.
@@TritonTv69420 that hasn't helped and neither have the new hotfix drivers, also tried turning off GPU Scheduling, no avail, game still crashes when I load into forge maps instantly
Is it just crashing in forge maps? is your windows updated? I had some issues loading in game yesterday and it went away when I did the windows update.
@@TritonTv69420 It turns out it is just forge maps, any map that has anything to do with forge, so that means not just user made forge maps but also the forge base worlds themselves when I try to open forge mode and even the 2 new 343 maps, Argyle and Detatchment, because they were made in forge

531.79 still crashes in this driver, I don't recommend it! Install 528.02 or 522.25 (this one is better than 528.02 in some games)

Yea I am not a fan of forced updates... For example I'm running a 3 year old version of premiere pro because it works haha.

Interesting. What all have you tried so far? what is happening? Also try turning off the high resolution dlc pack. Not sure where it will be located on the xbox app if it's even there. It causes issues on the steam version.
522.25 worked ok for me
517.48 works best out of the 3 most current gpu drivers. IMO

My guess is its a small programming error that eats up ram or some random loop of commands where one process is waiting on another and visa versa. Causing system instability and hard crashes. I reverted to the 522.25 driver and it worked ok. I think the 517.48 driver works even better. Check description for the second link. When they update drivers most of the time it's to add support to a few games with their own intricate shading or some other graphic feature. This is why updating isn't always necissary. hope this helps! Also if you are playing on steam check out the other video in description to turn off high resolution texture for multiplayer it has been known to cause issues. I turned that off a long time ago and it helped a lot! GLHF

I haven't updated my driver since then to be honest. Most of the new drivers are for dlss and rtx functions for very specific functions in very specific games/software. I would suggest reading the release notes and comparing them to previous versions. You can then weigh the positives. If you don't have the games or software they are updating the drivers for sometimes it's not worth the headache. I suggest saving the .exe files for drivers you know work on your setup. Then when you "update" you can always go back immediately. The issue is there are so many combos of cpu and gpu as well as windows versions they can't possibly test all of them. This is also why reporting issues is a good practice. links in description for helping get you back to older drivers.

Hello. Which driver did you change to? Also have you disabled the high resolution textures option in steam (if you are on steam). Video in description on how to do that. Also make sure to reset your computer and do windows updates. Mine was not loading the other day and it was a windows update. That game is the worst multiplayer fps i have ever played when it cones to crashes and glitches.

Im not playing multyplayer, Ima casual and just want to enjoy the campaign. I will try on the driver before aswell but im got so annoyed I lost my patience. I doubt it will work on earlier drivers... yeah, I think all my other drivers are up to date.
