- Cats LOVE to drink from flowing, trickling water. This DIY drinking fountain inspired by chirpycats.com is easy and takes only minutes to construct. Place it on a table or outside in a "catio" to provide your kitties with clean fresh water, or as a decorative fountain for a source of calm in your home!

Thank you for your kind words. We lost our little boy over a year ago due to a birth defect we had no control over. But we still remember Butchie with such love and beautiful memories. Sometimes it hurts for me to watch this video, but also reminds me of the happy times I had with him.
Having said that, we still have our other kitty and we still have our fountain. I change the filter every two weeks, and use filtered water. I clean the entire bowl and the rocks, and clean the little pump. I just rinse with warm water in the sink, and clean out the tube with a small brush. Bonnie loves this fountain sooo much.
I’m so sorry for your loss! You were a wonderful cat mom, though. Look at that beautiful project you accomplished just for him!🥰
amazing!! congratulations!!
Thank you so much! This video showed that I can probably do this, too. My husband is reluctant to spend a lot of money on a cat fountain, and I would rather have one that blends in more than the commercial ones for sale. I think I'll look for some beautiful pieces at the thrift store to use as a base. You, your cats, and the fountain are beautiful!
It is so simple. Keep it clean by dismantling every week and adding fresh spring water daily!
It's a beautiful DIY project, and so are you Ma´am! And perfect quality control! 😺😻
Oh, how sweet! Thank you! ❤
You and your helper did an excellent job of making this water fountain!!🙏👍💚💙🐱🐈🦨
Oh, thank you so much!
You too are so cute! LOL! I have a cat that looks like that his mane is Tom
Thank you! His full name is Butch Vernon. He is named after my late uncle. 😺
Thanks for sharing the video! I've been wanting to make a fountain for my cats. Seeing what other people have created is helping me decide what might be best for both my cats, they have different drinking habits. My newer rescue was a street kitten and I think that may be why she loves running water so much, she's probably used to drinking rain water. She'll do some really goofy things like sit behind me on the radiator and watch me wash dishes, follow me to the bathroom and sit on the edge of the tub while I shower, follows me to the humidifier and tries to drink the water as I refill it. She's quite entertaining.
Our fur babies are worth it, aren't they? They give us so much love! Much love to you and your kitties!
That was brilliant, been looking for some thing like that , but for my two budgies, as they like the sound of flowing water for bathing in, :) 👍
So glad it has worked ideas for you!
Not sure which one of you is the cutest! Love this video!

Wow it so stylish and beautiful! I love it. Thank you! I want more video like this
Whew! I will work on that! Thanks.
So cute! Thanks so much for sharing!
You are so welcome!
Love this! You made it look so easy without so many steps like others DIYs! And both of you are so cute 🥰 I loved how he drank on cue! 😊❤️. I’ve been looking for DIYs because if gets too expensive to buy the damned store filters, and still don’t work! My cat’s fountain gets slimy still even when the fountain is stainless steel! 😤
Do you think I should use distilled water instead? I’m worried about my cat drinking faucet water..😥
Beautiful fountain and kitty! ✨🥰✨
Loves how he drank on cue! Lol
i love your excitement for this project!
I don't have any pets and have no idea how I ended up here but you are ADORABLE!!
You are so kind. Thank you! I hope you choose to stick around for more adventures!
It looks great! Can't wait to try it for my fur babies.
Enjoy! Remember to clean and change the cartridge often💕
Bellooooo
Gorgeous! But I will have to keep mine simple. Can't imagine my cats no knocking over those rocks sitting on the bamboo frame!
Haha! I can relate! I must do an update video, because I took mine off, too!
Amazing! I can absolutely see the love for your baby on your face. ❤️
thank you! He is my little sunshine!
Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing this!

Okay, you’re adorable and I’m gonna say this at the risk of sounding like a creeper… you have THE nicest hands I’ve ever seen they’re so perfectly groomed you could literally be one of those hand models on QVC. 😂
Thank You😆!
very nice !!!
Do you think this idea will work for a puppy?
Brilliant. Your cat is very lucky. Please could you give me your address and then if I come back as a cat, I can come and sit outside your home and wail until you take me in and look after me as I knwo a good cat home when I see it. lol.
Thank you for this amazing video.
You’re so sweet …thank you!

@SeeingSong, where can you buy this bamboo part?
I posted the link in the description for you.
Wow 😽😽
How is cleaning it?
The cleaning is moderately easy, and should be done every week.
I've been wanting to do this for so long for my dog. How easy is it to clean?
I stop the pump, take it out and change the filter. I haven’t had to completely empty the water yet to do a deep cleaning because we use mountain spring water or filtered water anyway...but it is almost time to do that.
What type of stones are these? 😍😍😍
The stones used for this fountain are called river stones, which can be found at a garden store or any craft store.
How often do you change the water?
Hi, Kathrina! For ME, since the water is filtered, we change the filter every two or three weeks. The water recycles so I don’t empty the water. I also use spring water or filtered water, and stay away from the faucet. The kitties drink it down so much that I have to refill it every morning.
@@TheAlvinvision wouldnt the stones grow moss?
