Thanks Jose! I just subscribed your channel thanks for the tips please post more videos pros n cons on this trucks. You definitely know what u talking about...
Wow! you really hit the nail on the head!! I'm from Sacramento California I started my journey week ago east-west hauling pallets, I got stuck in Kansas yesterday DPF problem. Did PARKED REGEN 3 time already still losing power lights flashing. Red light flashes then I lose power over n over. Mechanic shop things that they need to bake the exhaust filter so I'm stuck here until then.
Have a small fleet of 4300 box trucks. The cables in the battery box are clean power supply and the connectors are faulty.Replaced at international a couple times, but eventually cut the connectors out and replaced with crimp on connectors for a much more durable connection. That was several years ago and no more trouble with them.Permanent fix!If your truck keeps stalling out over bumps check IPR connection-they are often faulty. It has a metal clasp to hold connection together.Disconnect clean and re connect. Also carry a spare IDM relay as these can fail and stop the truck.:)
Best thing to do is to bypass both the clean power and ground connectors using butt connections and heat shrink. There are clean power/ground connectors at the battery box, near the starter and at the fire wall.
Cut those connectors out of harness and used inline splice to make a more permanent connection 500,000 miles ago on both my 4300's.No more troubles with engine quiting due to faulty connectors. The dealership will sell you new harnesses-but have bought new ones that were bad right off the shelf!Test your connectors by tugging the assembled unit with engine running,if it stalls you have a bad one.
I just want to say your video single-handedly got me and my RV off the side of the highway to somewhere safe where I could fix the problem more permanently, thanks for the help
there is a relay under the valve cover that goes bad. i believe its in the injector relay. happened to my 07 dt466. also, get a new wiring harness in thr battery box with a fuseless harness.
hey bro I just bought a 2012 international 4300 with 130,000 miles on it, how reliable this truck is and what kind of problems I should expecting over at this miles, do you recommend this truck?
Good morning,I have an issue with my 2005 International 4300.I was driving down 35 to Waco and my truck just stopped I tried replacing the fuel filter as it was clogged up but it didn't help so I had to tow it back to Dallas where my mechanic primed and replaced the fuel filter. The truck started then shut off after 30 minutes and thas what it's been doing for the last two weeks. Now my mechanic is saying it's the HPOP?Have you experienced this issue before?
Yes but if he wants to replace the huei let him pay for it install it and then once the truck doesn’t die after a day then pay him but you do not pay a pennie until the repairs has being verified you tell him that and let me know what he says because I’m assuming that he tested everything already
Hi Jose my son is having the same problem with his 2007 International how do you fix the problem permanently? He took to mechanic and said wiring harness needs to be replaced. Do you think fixing this will fix the problem.
Hey I know I'm commenting a year after this was posted but I ran into an issue last weekend. Brought my truck to do a simple coolant drain and replace the thermostat and surge tank cap because I spotted a bit of leakage one them. Any who after I got it done turned on my 2011 durastar MaXXforce to get it to operating temp and then check for leaks. So I turned the truck off l and inspected. I asked my brother to turn on the truck so I can take it back to the yard. Bam.. crank and no start issue right there. Engine WARn on the information center and amber triangle on the idiot lights. Pulled codes for 51 FMI 11 and 158 FMI 17. So I started with my throttle valve to inspect it. I removed it and tested it and it was working to it best ability. After that I decided that SPN 158 was the real culprit. Low voltage to ECM, I started to by checking all my grounds on the truck (only the ones in the engine bay, and engine block) They were all solid grounds so I decided to go with voltage drop test and start where the batteries live in. Found a three pin harness positive with the wrong type of grease inside it. Causing the third pin to the right be coated with black. I thought it was burnt but as I cleaned off the grease I saw that there was no signs of melted connector. I sprayed it down with electrical cleaner dried it and got that black coat of it. I started bending the cables around to see if I can hear or feel and evidence of corrosion in the cables. Didn't have any of that. And finally I test fit in each female terminal I have in my wire repair kit. That one female terminal was loose so I bent the male pin downward just a bit and plugged it back up and at the turn of the key it roared back to life. So far I've driven 250 miles since diag and "repair" This weekend I'm gonna make a permanent repair by installing my own terminals male and female and modding the existing cover to encase the new terminal.
Hey Jose, I have 2003 international dt466e and it cuts off on me randomly when I driving on the highway, No check engine lights come on though. I was wondering if the wires you took off your truck would be the same issue I'm having. Do you know the name of that wire or harness you took off?
@@AtlanticTransportation Could you tell me where these are located, Or send a video. And how do I go about testing them? Also, Where are you located, I'm in the Newark, New Jersey area, I would like to meet up with you so you could take a look at the truck in person.
I have an 2006 dt 466. 4400 and i replaced the icp sensor and it seemed to solve most of my problems. It now chugs and sounds like it almost dies for a second while im in drive and at a stop light. It also chugs while the pto is turned on and im pumping propane. Have any thoughts on what to look for next?
Follow up to add to my question. I had to repair at least 10 wire connections when i first bought it to keep it from dying. And the one magentic piece that helps control the fuel going to the injectors i think was replaced as well. The mechanic thinks its the idm relay or something?
Ok what wires did you repair And the magical word mechanics usually trow out i think . A sure fact is that icp and ipr valve go hand and hand if you look on the videos in our channel you find alot of videos about the ipr inspection and so on. Thats where i would look next unless you have engine codes if you do let me know which ones
i have an international junk prostar 2011 cumming too, was driving on freeway, when the gas pedal went out, but the engine is working, after I turned off the engine, and tried to restart it, the engine was cranking but did not start, this problem keeps happening, after 4 times of towing to mechanic shop, the truck keeps going for like 60 miles then it shuts off, and when you try to start it, the engine cranks but wont start, it may start for one second, then dies back again. The mechanic is saying its probably the icon module, and they don't make it anymore, and if they do its $3500. The mechanic by pass the icon module but i still have that problem, I am going bankrupt. I don't have ELD either.
My 02 runs then glitches for a split second like it wants to shut of and coolant level light comes on for a split second then truck drives fine. Does this all day but hasn't shut off yet. What do you think
here's an update, i guess no need to bake the filter according to the shop filter isn't the problem, problem is the previous owner changed one of the sensor that goes on the Exhaust it's an off brand so the sensors are not communicating with each other that's what causing carbon buildup due to poor communications between the sensors.
My 2007 dt466 is having issues where whenever it’s at low rpm or whenever it’s park it will shut down or whenever I’m driving and I come to a stop light it shuts off whenever it’s in low idle
Andy Arakelian Yes inrecently did one where the first sensor from the from to rear of the exhaust was bad and I changed it a week later it begin to do what you mention and we ended up taking of the exhaust and did what they are going to do to yours another good way to see if it's your exhaust is with a scanner force a regeneration and it will literally blow out pieces of carbon build up on the exhaust
Did your truck die electrically? I have a 2011 and while traveling down the highway, my truck shut down totally. IAfter about 20 minutes the truck would start back up. After changing out the batteries, the truck stopped again after about 5 miles. I had a follower, so I attempted to jump start it back. No luck initially but after about 20 minutes The truck cranked back up and ran fine for another 5 or so miles. Then it did the same thing, shut down. While trying to jump it off the third time I noticed a pattern. The truck was not allowing itself to be jumped off for at least 20 minutes. After 20 minutes all the lights would pop back on and the truck would start. So, I drove the truck 250 miles by getting the truck up to 65 and then putting it in neutral and coasting till I got around 55. Then I would put the truck back in drive and speed back up to 65. If I try to drive 7 miles or so straight without putting it in neutral the truck shuts down. No lights on the panel, no exterior lights, no parking or stop brake lights. It is electrically dead. After about 20 minutes sitting on the side of the highway, all lights pop back on and the truck cranks and runs fine, for 2 or 3 minutes at 65. I tried the above because with the truck parked and in neutral it never stops running. Anyone have a clue as to what the issue is?
Sounds like there’s a either a sensor or a module like ecm or IDM triggering the truck to die. 1. What voltage is your alternator putting out on your dash at idle and what voltage is putting out once in the road. 2.have you got your batteries tested yet and re charge. 3.have you inspected your battery box fuses yet inspect for melted fuses loose fuse holders or burn or melted harness in the battery box. Keep updated Brother
Thank for the help. It turned out to be the main wire under the hood that powers the ECM. The truck is in the shop now but with the information I was given on this forum, I was able to diagnose the issue after trying to get the truck to the shop. I was thinking I could post a pic, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that.

My 2012 Durastar maxxforce 4300 runs and shut off.i am suspecting the electrical pump and strainer. I tried with out success to dis-assemble,can you help ?
To take the pump off, remove 3 8 mm bolts from the top. Use a screwdriver to pry the pump body out of the filter housing. If you can hear the pump running, chances are it’s working. If you have low fuel pressure change the filters with OEM filter only. Do not use Baldwin filters. The strainer is attached to the fuel pump body and is sold separately in case yours is to dirty to clean. The other common fuel issue is a leaking/weak fuel pressure regulator. I’d start by checking fuel with mechanical gauge. Should be around 90 psi with pump running. Fitting at filter housing is dirty side and fitting at cylinder head is clean side.
Mechanic shop thinks after replacing all the Exhaust sensors (original international parts) they should start communicating with each other it should REGEN on its own while driving on highways. According to shop foreman.,

I don’t have any input on the maxxforce engines bro those are to complicated and are out of my league there are channels that go the maxxforce motor this one is only for the DT466
Did it work
Hey I have the same issue. Fault code is:
6. 2 2033_ 14a. Do have you a solution to this issue?
I don’t do much maxxforce but I would inspect the battery fuses make sure they are melted or loose on the fuse holder
Changing the icp should resolve what issues?
lol do not switch it out! cut out connector and butter slice each wire! I worked for international for 10yrs..
butter slice? or perhaps is it butt splice?
My 2010 international 4300 just did the same thing. It shut off on the highway and won’t start
Do you have any checks engine light on a 2010 has very oppressive emissions that will shut down immediately.
I am having the same issue but none of the fuses are blown and I don't see a reset?
Are the fuse melted
Are the fuse holders arched
Are the fuse holders melted
@@AtlanticTransportation no nothing is melted thanks brother

My 2007 international 4300 DT466 shuts off sometimes while driving i have to go to where the batteries are located and unplug the fuse in the battery harness and it turns back on
Ok bro you have to change out the fuse holder oreillys auto parts has it for about less than 15 dollars
@@AtlanticTransportation ok I will do that but also they changed out the batteries in this international and now the voltage Gauge keeps Fluctuating
Most of the time is going to be your cluster that needs to be changed at least in my all experiences that has always been the issue
@@AtlanticTransportation what do you mean by cluster ?
All your gauges in front of you
I did everything you said and It won’t let me restart to get out of the highway

Hey brother have you checked your fuses on the battery box and see if you have blown fuses in it the most common one is a 40 amp fuse
INTERNATIONAL 4300 DT466 SOLUTIONS I did brother, I had it towed to a dealer, apparently it’s the fuel pump, the scan shows not enough pressure. I will update you guys on Monday when I get some more news. Thank you very much, these videos help a lot.
