Thank you for videos on Internationals!! Question: My 2006 Intern 4300 was stalling for a while then lost all power after a few months. I replaced the ICP sensor, and it was like new. About a year later and maybe 3,000 miles it did it again. I replaced the ICP sensor again, and it was good again. It has been another year and it is shutting off when the gas pedal is released while driving again. It was just idling rough for about a month so it is at the second stage before losing power. I will be replacing the ICP a third time in three years with less than 5,000 miles. I purchased one from the dealer this time for $498! Any ideas on why this part seems to keep going bad? Should I be replacing another part with this part? Thanks!!!
Ok so a few things 1. The eBay or Amazon sensors are not the solution they are only to get off the road and going until you replace it with a dealer one. 2. The harness to the sensor is possibly worn and it stays a certain way for a while until it moves and it begins to lose voltage do the harness been worn down remember wires do take a beating remember you have high temperatures in that area. 3. The ICP SENSOR AND IPR VALVE are in a common area in that circuit so those are supposed to be replaced in pair.
Or it has rough/loping idle. At first it may only be at idle, turbo constantly actuating. Mechanic may say you need a new turbo or all new injectors. The one my boss took our truck to had replaced the turbo 6 months ago, this time they told her that it needed all six injectors. After replacing all six “failing” they told us the engine needed to be rebuilt. I pulled the truck out of the shop had the driver take it home and then replaced the icp in his driveway. He says truck hasn’t ran this good in 3 years.
This was a dealership. Almost $17,000 they spent on the truck this year and from what has been explained to me all of that could have probably been avoided by replacing the icp sensor and idm relay. Boss is going to talk to a lawyer. The turbo is still leaking oil, all injector harness holders (clip onto oil rail) broken, trash inside Valve cover, bolts missing . . . .

I have a 2008 international Durastar with the 7.6 Maxxforce and its bogging down when I get to high speeds on the freeway. It only does it when I'm at high speeds for a while. If I'm starting and stopping it won't do it. I can keep pressing the gas pedal repeatedly and it will catch again but after a couple of times it will slow the truck down until I have to pull over and have to turn it off for a while and it will go again. Any suggestions? Thank you

hey my 2007 4300 shuts off every now in then..... and then today it shut off i start it back up.... drove it about a have mile stopped at the stop sign, it shut off and it never cranked back up........ i watched your video and if i disconnect the senser buy the 6 injector how long will it run??
deangelo simley forever if the sensor is the issue. The ecm will not see the icp signal and will run off of a default value. However, it will have some loss of power due to engine not being able to properly control the icp system.

Por qué aveces baja el nivel de coolant y aveces está bien a nivel pero en el cárter del aceite del motor tiene como espuma blanca cuando chequeo el aceite con la varilla y la varilla sale con residuos de espuma blanca pero el aceite está limpio no está revuelto como otros casos que cuando pasan agua el aceite se hace como chocolate aver si me pudieran ayudar gracias

Hi Jose I'm having a problem with my truck it's a 2005 international 4300 466dt. It all of sudden shuts off while driving and starts right back on but sometimes takes a while and shuts off while idling. I put the scanner and it read three codes 1.) SPN0164 ICP 3 Voltage above nomarl 2.) SPN0164 ICP 4 Voltage below normal 3.) SPN0094 FUEL DELIVERY PRESSURE I replaced the ipr and icp the in December of 2021 . U think the icp went bad or having a electric problem? The truck has good batteries and making 12.5 Voltage.

El camion batalla mucho para para arancar y cuando lo hace solamente es por 1 o 2 segundos, ha estado parado por varios meses el problema empezo cuando lo lave con una maquina de alta presion de agua. Empezo a sacar mucho humo blanco cuando lo prendi , luego lo deje descansar y volvio a sacar demasiado humo blanco. Ahora como dije batalla mucho para prender y solamente lo hace por 1 o 2 segundos. Que se altere a 1400 si es normal el motor quiere compensar por la temperatura de afuera Si se apaga es porque de seguro esta programada para que si no pisas el pedal de gas se apaga eso lo puede reprogramar cualquier persona que tenga una scanner para tu camion
Mike Gon I would suspect thats the problem there your icp. Keep in mind that ipr valve and icp go hand and hand its recommended you change both of them
We replace ipr 2 months ago From dealer part plus the cam sendor also. Now this is been few times before making truck shut off. But crank back on Now went off and its no starting anymore.
i got a dt466 heui, no start, fires up with eter, but it dies at 10 or 12 minutes, it accelerates but after 10 minutes dies.. they got the IPR new, CKP Sensor, another HEUI Pump, a good set of batteries, and keeps doing the same.. i was thinking about the ICP, or some internal oil leak from high pressure rail.. im gonna scan it by monday. sept 27th 2021 im using the Nexiq2 and the Etechnician 2.0 by nexiq.. it worked so fine with a 7.3 powerstroke do you have the Specs for Dt466?? fuel pressure, oil pressure, etc? good videos by the way! i scribed and suscribed!
@@AtlanticTransportation man i got it disconnected and it didnt start, but i have at least 4 codes about icp, 3 actives and 1 inactive.. this is the first one and last never dissapeared, i did the standard test, Fault Description: Injection Control Press. Regulator OCC Self Test Failed SID 42 FMI Description: FMI: 11 Occurrence: 0 Flash Code: 241 im getting one borrowed from another truck, before buying it, i was thinking on orings from the thing over the inyectores and inyector seals, but i dont have any high pressure leak that i could notice.. anyways, i will check them if the sensor doesnt work. my ipr has around 10.7 ohms, harness has 12v but im not sure if the controled ground of the harness from ecm is working right, i used the loadpro on it and it drops from 12v to 1v.

I have a misfire on my 2003 international 4300 non egr engine , injectors are 1 year old , how can I check what cylinder is missing without an scanner, I have no engine codes
raul resto unplug each injector 1 at a time while engine is running. The cylinder that is misfiring will have little effect (both audible/performance wise) when unplugged.

I got injection control pressure above desired level. Truck runs fine after you reset codes. Once engine warms up this code appears and it feels like it is missing.

I took some time to find it, it was where you said it would be, there is a grey, rectangular electrical board, on this particular engine, thats not on other 466e engines, It took a while forme to decide to look with my phone to be able to see the icp sensor. Thank you for the Guidance, my Engine light is now off.
My truck Cooland light come on and shut my truck off but it never had a sensor we’re the coolant goes it never did what other thing can the cooland light be ?
I check it don’t have none the only one I see if the temp sensor and that on the block by the alternator but the cooland bottle never brough one and the thermostat only have the big nut next to it nothing else

It’s possible but you going to have a hard time trying to torque stuff and also the high-pressure Rail Is heavy I don’t was have someone else help me play back in and taking it out and I am afraid that I would damage if I have to do everything from engine side
I jack up the cab, i pull the bolts out of the front cab supports and use a car jack to raise it up. Once bolt holes are past the top of the frame mounts in slip the bolts back through the cab supports so i can release the jack. You can do everything you need to do under the valve cover like this. I learned this at my time at an international dealership.
@@AtlanticTransportation I remove the nuts off the front cab mount bolts, lift one side to get the bolt out, then go to the other side to do the same, continue to jack that side up so that the cab side is above the rubber isolator housing, then slip the bolt back in to the holes for the cab and rest it down so it sits on top of the housing for the isolator. If you try to set the bolt on top of the isolator while the bolt is still mounted normally on the other side, it will fight you, and be really hard to remove, so make sure you pull both bolts before trying to raise the cab.
Yup at Navistar that's how we do it. Jack up the cab. I can have the valve cover off and all injectors and oil manifold resealed in about 2-3hrs. Like clock work

You know to be honest im not sure 1.But what do know is that pump when removed and when you and installed it again you must put back with adjustment because if not wont work because it goes out of time and it wont synchronize with the other gears
The problem I’m having is that my truck does not start it won’t start with starter fluid runs fine but once you turn it off and wait more then Ten or more minute The truck won’t turn on but if you turn it off and turn it back on it will turn on I already replaced the O Rings on the injectors, cam sensor, ipr valve.

I bought a Isumo brand IPR valve off of e-bay but the truck still wont start. The last time I drove the truck it ran fine and I fueled it up before I parked it. My number is 970-405-9107

Ya revisaste todos los filtros de diésel que estén limpios mirá mi último video si lo haces i se ve igual es muy possible que tengas un filtro de diésel tapado
Enrique pueden ser mas de un factor o una combinazion de mas de uno por ejemplo Si tienes la luz amarilla de motor es mas facil de llegar al problema O si cuando se apaga se prende la luz amarilla tambien es mas facil de diagnosticar Aire en el sistema de diesel Injectores debiles Sensores Baterias Bajo nivel de aceite turbo atorado
Not starting up getting on dash abs module and electrical fault front blinkers not blinking and transmission not shifting low power... on the starter relay one pink wire is getting power but when I put ground to it the truck will start up...
@@AtlanticTransportation I notice oil around icp and high pressure line. Truck hard to start after a few days so I crank everyday. Also truck loses speed on hills. I wrote on your cam sensor video too
Wrong wrong wrong. 700psi is your minimal starting psi, any scan tool will work that measures ICP and IPR percentages. Unplugging the sensor from valve cover gasket will not allow the truck to start so no "boom". It's a 5v ref. Sensor. One 5v, one common ground and one feedback (from left to right on rear) oil does not flow through it. It just measures pressure and without, it will not run. So much misinformation.
Bj Castro the engine should run with sensor unplugged. If the engine dies when you unplug the sensor, then you have another issue preventing the engine from running off of default ICP value provided by ECM. Usually a leak under the valve cover or a bad IPRV.

Yup thats some shops either they dont know how to diagnose or they are just plain out to rob you

I never had that issue im going to assume that dt466 doesn’t fall under that category

Look at your gauges and see if any have a red light that is flashing it could low air low oil low coolant low def fluid or low pressure
We have a 2003 International 4300 DT466 giving us the P164 code we changed the ICP and still getting the code even after the code was cleared.

You have MAXXFORCE engine that’s is different from a DT466 36,947 psi I say you possibly have a bad sensor how do you know that’s what the pressure is

deangelo simley forever if the sensor is the issue. The ecm will not see the icp signal and will run off of a default value. However, it will have some loss of power due to engine not being able to properly control the icp system.

Hi Jose I'm having a problem with my truck it's a 2005 international 4300 466dt. It all of sudden shuts off while driving and starts right back on but sometimes takes a while and shuts off while idling. I put the scanner and it read three codes
1.) SPN0164 ICP
3 Voltage above nomarl
2.) SPN0164 ICP
4 Voltage below normal
3.) SPN0094 FUEL DELIVERY PRESSURE
I replaced the ipr and icp the in December of 2021 . U think the icp went bad or having a electric problem? The truck has good batteries and making 12.5 Voltage.

El camion batalla mucho para para arancar y cuando lo hace solamente es por 1 o 2 segundos, ha estado parado por varios meses el problema empezo cuando lo lave con una maquina de alta presion de agua. Empezo a sacar mucho humo blanco cuando lo prendi , luego lo deje descansar y volvio a sacar demasiado humo blanco. Ahora como dije batalla mucho para prender y solamente lo hace por 1 o 2 segundos.

I would suspect thats the problem there your icp. Keep in mind that ipr valve and icp go hand and hand its recommended you change both of them

i got a dt466 heui, no start, fires up with eter, but it dies at 10 or 12 minutes, it accelerates but after 10 minutes dies.. they got the IPR new, CKP Sensor, another HEUI Pump, a good set of batteries, and keeps doing the same..
i was thinking about the ICP, or some internal oil leak from high pressure rail.. im gonna scan it by monday. sept 27th 2021
im using the Nexiq2 and the Etechnician 2.0 by nexiq.. it worked so fine with a 7.3 powerstroke

im getting one borrowed from another truck, before buying it, i was thinking on orings from the thing over the inyectores and inyector seals, but i dont have any high pressure leak that i could notice.. anyways, i will check them if the sensor doesnt work.
my ipr has around 10.7 ohms, harness has 12v but im not sure if the controled ground of the harness from ecm is working right, i used the loadpro on it and it drops from 12v to 1v.
Ok if you load pro it and your losing 11 vilts then we have a wire issue or a computer issue

raul resto unplug each injector 1 at a time while engine is running. The cylinder that is misfiring will have little effect (both audible/performance wise) when unplugged.

That’s in the acceptable range but you should be really above 600 and above

I got injection control pressure above desired level. Truck runs fine after you reset codes. Once engine warms up this code appears and it feels like it is missing.

I took some time to find it, it was where you said it would be, there is a grey, rectangular electrical board, on this particular engine, thats not on other 466e engines, It took a while forme to decide to look with my phone to be able to see the icp sensor. My truck Cooland light come on and shut my truck off but it never had a sensor we’re the coolant goes it never did what other thing can the cooland light be ?
You have a coolant temp sensor right under the thermostat housing also of the light is red then you are over heating the engine.
Yea only thing it show is the red cooland sensor when it come on it shut off fast even in the morning

It’s possible but you going to have a hard time trying to torque stuff and also the high-pressure Rail Is heavy I don’t was have someone else help me play back in and taking it out and I am afraid that I would damage if I have to do everything from engine side
I jack up the cab, i pull the bolts out of the front cab supports and use a car jack to raise it up. Once bolt holes are past the top of the frame mounts in slip the bolts back through the cab supports so i can release the jack. You can do everything you need to do under the valve cover like this. I learned this at my time at an international dealership.

I remove the nuts off the front cab mount bolts, lift one side to get the bolt out, then go to the other side to do the same, continue to jack that side up so that the cab side is above the rubber isolator housing, then slip the bolt back in to the holes for the cab and rest it down so it sits on top of the housing for the isolator. If you try to set the bolt on top of the isolator while the bolt is still mounted normally on the other side, it will fight you, and be really hard to remove, so make sure you pull both bolts before trying to raise the cab.
Yup at Navistar that's how we do it. Jack up the cab. I can have the valve cover off and all injectors and oil manifold resealed in about 2-3hrs. Like clock work

You know to be honest im not sure
1.But what do know is that pump when removed and when you and installed it again you must put back with adjustment because if not wont work because it goes out of time and it wont synchronize with the other gears
The problem I’m having is that my truck does not start it won’t start with starter fluid runs fine but once you turn it off and wait more then Ten or more minute The truck won’t turn on but if you turn it off and turn it back on it will turn on I already replaced the O Rings on the injectors, cam sensor, ipr valve.

Wrong wrong wrong. 700psi is your minimal starting psi, any scan tool will work that measures ICP and IPR percentages. Unplugging the sensor from valve cover gasket will not allow the truck to start so no "boom". It's a 5v ref. Sensor. One 5v, one common ground and one feedback (from left to right on rear) oil does not flow through it. It just measures pressure and without, it will not run. So much misinformation.
Bj Castro the engine should run with sensor unplugged. If the engine dies when you unplug the sensor, then you have another issue preventing the engine from running off of default ICP value provided by ECM. Usually a leak under the valve cover or a bad IPRV.
