I love how this portrays that in the beginning Kai might’ve done anything to swap places with Lloyd so he could be the green ninja, and later he still would’ve swapped places, but instead he would do it to protect Lloyd from such a dangerous destiny.

Now they’re canonically best friends as well as brothers, Kai has sworn on being Lloyds protector. Their connection is stronger then any other ninjas connection with one another.
It's scary how close Kai came to becoming the next Morrow. Kinda makes me wish those two had interacted a bit more. But this animation is so amazing. It captures so many emotions, not only within the characters, but within the viewers who grew up watching these kids grow and become stronger

Makes me think that it’s amazing how ninjagos plot can fly over kids heads but stick to older people. Really a show everyone can enjoy

I am astonished! Your art style is incredible! You portray Lloyd and Kai's relationship perfectly and in a way that really makes you feel for them. The two have gone through so much together and I love the way that Kai has always comforted Lloyd when Lloyd has experienced his worst. It really shows in this animatic and the way they start with Kai being at odds with Lloyd to him being an older brother. Great job!
Other than the emotions this makes me feel, I love the detail of Lloyd’s clothes being smaller on him after being hit with the time tea!

And the time scip, perfect.
But the lyrics hit also very hard. In the beginning he wanted to swap their places because he wanted to be special, later because he wanted to help Lloyd.

But then you come jumping in and deliver us an insanely big emotional trip through space and time with recognizable and beautiful atmospheres and somehow also sad sceneries… The relationship Lloyd and Kai have really is so eternally special, it can‘t be bet by anything else.❤🔥
Oh right and I haven‘t even started talking about how well the music fits them… To summarize: Thank You, so so much, for making it able for us to watch this masterpiece and remember our childhood once again! ✨
This is amazing!!! It makes me wish the show did more with Kai wanting to be the green ninja (maybe turning evil??), Lloyd coping with literally having to grow up fast and deal with the prophcey (fight his father), and show more of their brotherly relationship!!

I loved what the show did with Kai's older brother relationship with Lloyd. It was sadly not as touched upon as much as I would have wished, looking back, but I still remember it fondly. Totally makes sense, too, since Kai already having a younger sister and practically raising her along with himself is definitely the most likely candidate to then take Lloyd under his wing as well.
This reminds me that I need to watch Ninjago again. I absolutely loved this series, haven't watched it in a minute.

I can't praise this video more than enough! Even though it's so short, I still watch it every now and then. It triggers so many feelings in me. The episode where the green ninja is revealed is to this day one of my favorite episodes of all time and one that I can never get out of my head. Kai's character in particular had undergone such growth at the time, but so had Lloyd, of course.

One of my favorite things about their characters dynamic is that Kai originally wanted to trade places with Lloyd cus he wanted the glory of being the green ninja, but now he wants to trade places with Lloyd cus being the green ninja has caused Lloyd so much suffering and Kai only wants to protect his little brother

this show has a special place in my heart
I'm not crying, my eyes are just sweating
There's just something about Kai as a character, maybe he wanted to be the green ninja bc he wanted to be the best and defeat Garmadon or maybe to be the one who always comes through in the end. He starts training to be the best and trying to unlock his true potential not knowing that destiny has already decided who was the green ninja, and even feels threatened by the idea that it might be his own sister. That episode just has a big toll on me especially when he's trapped in the temple with Lloyd and he has to chose between the fang blade and saving him, and like he said in that moment, he's not supposed to be the green ninja, he's supposed to protect him. But even after, he still wishes it was him as we learn in season 4. But even still, he still decides it's his job to be Lloyd's brother and season 5 just shows you that bond. Even as early as season 2 he's the last one to help Lloyd get to the top and chooses to fight off Nya. He has to accept it'll never be him but he's chosen to be part of the reason why it has to be Lloyd.
That being said, this animation, the art, the song, it's all exceptional. Running up that Road makes me feel like I'm being suffocated and like the end for me is near but this cover along with the rest of the video were astounding. I constantly find myself rewatching it and this made me go back to watch the fire temple scene.
Bro now that I'm thinking of it a child literally went through so much trauma just to impress his dad, but soon needing to fulfill a prophecy that needs a green ninja
I don't even go here and therefore have no context, but the story telling in this is so strong visually that I had such immense emotions from it.
