Graphics and effects are really impressive for an NES title. Looks like many 16 bit platformers

@@Cyberidium No, it's the brilliant sprite work and use of extra colours on the sprites. The smooth filter actually ruins it.

One of my favorite games of all time. I love the dark atmosphere and soundtrack so much, it's one of the most nostalgic games ever. I remember having terrible problems with the second boss, but once I passed it, I went forward up to the Card Cat :D The mummy boss still gives me the creeps though. I had nightmares with him lol.

For the last boss, if the bomb drops below the "danger" spot, you can just leave it there. The boss will land on the bomb and it will still explode, harming him.

yeah thats true when i was kid for that the first game was super easy but this game the second was hard in the final boss for that i need it 3 years to find out for that and when i find out that i just kill him verry easy like that when i make him to hit him self make it more easy but the game is good :) i play her a lot as a kid
Omg thankyou for this ❤️. This shit was stressing me out 😭 I died atleast 6times not even making it halfway through. But then saw this and was able to leave like 7bombs where they were and I beat him with a full heart 💪

me too he was scarry when i play it in my nes but was amazing game first game was easy but this second game was hard in the final boss for him i need it 3 years to find out how to kill him but finaly i do it and it was amazing

Los del 1 eran más difícil aúnque con los de este halls qué tener muchísima más paciencia porqué hay qué golpearlos más veces.

Ahhhh my childhood yeeeessss! Man how fun this was (is) to play. I still remember when my brother and i discovered you can use the other player as a projectile, once i tried to carry and throw him off a ledge.

Мой отдельный картридж с этой игрой. Прошли с сестрой, потратив кучу нервных клеток). Крысу рисковано проходят тут. С собакой-призраком достаточно стоять в правом углу экрана,чтобы она не кидалась в тебя. Пожалуй,самые сложные уровни - это город мастеров,он же clock town, и вагонетки. Кролика в первом уровне можно вообще не бить ящиками,он сам на них напарывается. Недавно на эмуляторе с телефона прошёл по несколько раз обе части. Вспомнил далёкое прошлое. Хорошие игры.
It's wild seeing the graphics on a 92/93 era NES game, most people were playing SNES at this point so we were missing out on games that pushed the nes to it's absolute limits

It was not a sprite rather an animated background that you are actually fighting.

This game's last boss is a real challenge, unlike the one from Rescue Ranger 1 which was an absolute joke.

In comparison to squirrel King this is probably their boss inspiration. Or maybe just the whole game in general. The first boss is like the first boss same with second boss ( actually it goes with 4th boss too ) the ostrich boss Is same as third boss one could say rhinotank is inspired by the card car or maybe weasel the ghost buffalo is inspired by the ghost boss here but barnett the elephant is original but maybe copy of weasel

The background of boss 5 reminded me of a Megaman stage.
Pretty lazy of Capcom not to animate the final boss. It's just one giant, still sprite. 😢
It's actually a background. Ever notice how huge boss "Sprites" are always against a solid black background in NES games? that's because it's easier to move a background around and make smaller sprites for moving parts than make actual large scale sprites. The gecko boss is the same way.

Well... you have to know the fact that this game is anything BUT Capcom made. :P It was a ghost developer company: Make Software Inc. and it uses the their own sound engine plus, their games never had the best visual quality to begin with. :P
Probably because of the system limitations the NES had.

Huh. I played the first game way back when I was a kid, but for the life of me I never realized there was a second. I guess they ran out of enemies from the series to use as bosses for this one.

I think one of the best concepts for boss fights in NES games would be to have an enrage timer. After 60% damage, everything from their movement to projectile speed etc wud be faster
