This game was programmed by Clockwork Tortoise (formerly Zyrinx Software).
You could really see the absolute effort the staffs pulled for creating this game. The gameplan, gestures, the settings, and the more aggressiveness of the bosses when they hit their quarter life amount.
That kind of soul is missing mostly with modern gaming
It's a fun but challenging game, it would've been nice if they put a password save feature, my favorite weapon is the green 1
Is a beautiful game but also a pain cuz is not so funny to play, especially for the batwing stage. In general is like if everything was designed to hit ur character except the heart items xD

Just gonna say, Mad Hatter has one of the most epic boss themes of all time.
The Joker's method of calling his attacks through taunts and arm gestures is actually pretty novel. Usually characters using machines or the like aren't animated too much. Each one has a specific attack associated with it, and the motions also give it away to a degree.
well, its the JOKER! it would be kind of odd if he didn't taunt bats'.

The claw in Harley Quinn's fight is really impressive considering that its segments are just static sprites, but because of how they shift, it really does look like it's getting darker in the background and lighter in the foreground just by hiding/exposing the light and dark sections.
Ah, Harley Quinn. Or, as I’ve come to nickname her after recent discoveries, Pervy Quinn.
Seriously, I’m pretty sure she gets laid the most out of the Gotham Female Rogues.

That Mad Hatter battle has a great design.
And as an additional detail, destroy the Hatter's top hat on the floor (see 12:35) to gain an 1UP.
It was, I loved this boss fight so much I did an art project on it, a book end designed just like the checkered path flowing into a void in space

I saw that this video was 16 minutes long and my heart sank because I figured I'd never come anywhere near that time on my original cart and hardware setup in a run. Then I saw that it was ONLY bosses... 😅 This is easily the most underrated contra-(cough) Batman game on the Genesis and possibly of the entire 16 bit era. Truly a classic.

You should not forget, that the Mega Drive also has basic row and column shifting capabilities. Tilting could be done in Hardware using that mechanism and this game seems to have used that a lot.
But yeah the rest seems to be pure software magic. In this matter this game is a master piece. But i really hate the difficulty.
I would buy this game even today. The OST, graphics, and mechanics are amazing.

This is the best game on the SEGA MEGADRIVE/GENESIS!Absolutely never before seen visual effects,graphics that push the limit of the hardware,and,most importantly,hardcore gameplay and music that makes you feel like you're on crack!Absolute masterpiece!There's simply nothing like this anywhere!Even Gunstar Heroes can bow down to this game!One of my all time favorites!

This game was like dark souls lol every single boss had to be carefully studied. Such a masterpiece.

RetroNutcase that song made me pause just to listen, it is so badass that it shouldve been BATMAN'S new theme, definitely of of the best games and best game soundtracks, like gunstar heroes mashed with contra hardcorps but with BATMAN!

Music was made by Jesper Kyd, the same guy who made the music for Assassins Creed 1 to Revelations, Darksiders 2 and many more.

This version of batman is beautiful in so many levels, the graphics even though it's simple but it was more progressive, the story line and the music omg it is the most beautiful if I may say.
I am 40 years old now but if I came across this version I would play it forever 😄
Mad Hatter boss stage music is straight up radical.
An AMAZING game and one of the reasons why I am a retro gamer today. With that said, the gaming skills on display in this video are OUTSTANDING! This game is insanely difficult and this video is a MASTER CLASS of how to finish this game. Thanks for the video!
Few players knew that, but here I tell it: at 12:35, attack the top hat (the smaller one, which falls to the floor) to destroy it, there's a 1UP icon inside it.

Всем привет .Одна из любимых игр про бэтмэна на сеги.Не хардкор ,но долго я не мог пройти первый уровень.После долгих мучений первый уровень пройден,а вскоре и вся игра.Цепляла уже с самой заставки,но только сейчас услышал какой обалденный саундтрек всех уровней.Прям какой-то кибер панк,а это начало 90-х.Чисто мое мнение, раньше игры лучше делали и они надолго запоминались.
Не забывай, что самые яркие впечатления - детские) Большинство еще школьниками и дошкольниками в нее играли. Хотя согласен, раньше люди талантливее были.
Still the best Batman soundtrack in any of the games, second being Batman NES. But man the fucking Euro EDM feel to it is honestly what got me into The Prodigy as a youth. One of my favorite Genesis games, will never be available because of rights even though it rules!

The Cheshire Cat was used as the inspiration for Cuphead's boss fight with a similar cat.
I wish Sega would release this game on new consoles, just add a easy mode with some more continues and 1 up's and a classic mode for those of us who are able to finish this masterpiece.
M2 can do marvels when porting things like what you said. I hope the port will be from them.

Graphics and animation are surprisingly good but what really impresses me is the music. It doesn't fit the cartoon at all but it totally fits the genesis. But it's kind of unbelievably quality.
God, I played this game until my Genesis broke. Day and Night to beat it.

I think there's another. If I remember right, in the first part of the Mad Hatter segment, right before the boss fight against the Cheshire Cat, you have to fight a giant doll or something similar (It looked like a giant version of those dolls the Hatter launches out of the big hat during his own boss fight).
@@Adamguy2003 It was supposed to be a mechanical Tweedle-twin, and while I agree the scene is awesome, especially with the screen breaking away to reveal it, he is only a mid-boss.

The 16 bits era was really Magical. More than adversaries for me The SNES and Genesis was completely complementary. The Genesis had th better Run and Gun, Shoot'em ups and Beat'em ups and the Snes just had some RPGS that became Cult Classic. +Shadowserg you earned a suscriber cause i think you're the god of gaming
Good job playing the game. A lot of people complain that this game is hard because they're used to playing stupid easy to win games. This video proves with the right strategy you can enjoy and defeat this game.
Back in the day I used to have one game at the time because I didn't have a lot of money as a kid and having a game that it was hard to play it was more enjoyable because I get to play the game for longer and learn how to defeat it. And once you beat the game you get a bigger sense of accomplishment and this is why I love the Sega Genesis
