    This would be WAAAAAY down on the list of techniques the average person should care about or even bother learning. If you're dodging punches with this technique, this means you've mastered all the more practical and easier to implement techniques, because something like this will break down under pressure and will not be your "go to" technique precisely because it's so complex and impractical.

    Can you throw a bodyshot while doing a pivot or after you did it?

    • @goatfightshop3769
      @goatfightshop3769 Před 11 měsíci +3

      That’s rare. Likely not with your lead hand before or after. An uppercut or straight from the power side is usually after the pivot.

    • @Cente_Bui
      @Cente_Bui Před 7 měsíci +2

      You can throw a lead hook during the turn to body or wherever. But head makes more sense cause you can control your opponent.
      It’s called a
      “cuba/Soviet” step check hook uses this exact movement. Some of the best users are Terence Crawford and Floyd. Most famous example was from Floyd v Hatton imo.
      Your throw it during the 1st phase(left foot out) Punch lands when your foot lands. Pivot out. You can also just use the hook to push the opponent past you(Crawford v Porter)

    Hi coach, can we do the opposite and pivot to the right instead? If so, do we step with our right foot to the right side first?

    • @sweetscienceboxinggym
      @sweetscienceboxinggym  Před měsícem +3

      You can step with the right foot out and it will take your whole body to that side. Leave your left foot where it’s at and throw your right hand and step out to the right at the same time. It’s not so much of a pivot as it is a side step. Same concept, slightly different outcome.

    What about southpaw?

    • @Cente_Bui
      @Cente_Bui Před 7 měsíci

      Are you a southpaw?
      This’ll work to evade and orthodox’s right hand or lead hook. As you step, underhook and push with your lead arm to gain acceleration.
      Lol Terence Crawford absolutely abuses this maneuver when in southpaw v aggressive opposition, often hooking during.
      Study Crawford v Porter! Round4 @ :32 is about as good as it gets.
