  • After the incessant rains of winter 2023-24, it's no surprise that we're seeing some landslides here in the Isle of Wight Undercliff. But the serious landslides seen at Hunts Road, St Lawrence over the last week (late March 2024) wasn't foreseen. The area continues to move as of 23rd March.

Feel sorry for homeowners in St Lawrence. Such a beautiful part of the island too. 😢

I didn't realise that the damage was in the woodlands too.

That's the wood leading down to Binnel bay - know it well. I don't think kill be using that this year. Looks totally unsafe to me and more could happen between now and July.
It fell away at the top on the west side a few years back. Such a shame as it's a nice wood (Poplar Wood).

I don’t think I would walk in that area. Once it’s starts any vibrations will continue it’s momentum and you will have nowhere to escape. Getting any video is not worth your life.

I agree - it's a route I do every time I come down - but not this year!! Not bloody likely. Way too risky.
