Cant hate for trying to secure a bag but topshot is trash bro.
TopShot is a bad investment bro
You should add Omer Asik, Greivis Vasquez, Anderson Varejao
A day ago I was wondering when Andys gonna make a video about how that silly digital collecting game is a pyramid scheme... Oh. Well okay. Then again. I would also take that ad money.
okay
jonathon simmons is absolutely a success story, no matter if he ever plays again. dude tried out for his local g league team at age 26, and turned that into $20,000,000.
L
I love Mr Simmons. Wish he could have had a better career but oh well, take the money and run.
I really liked watching him play for the spurs
DA JUICE
Jonathon Simpson
Phil Jackson giving joakim Noah 72 Miliion set the entire state of New York back financially for 5 + Plus years 😂😂😂😭😭
Sad but true Phili probably though him and rose could of been like in Chicago Bulls I think Phil tried to pimp the Knicks.
Bro we are still paying him!!!!! I think this is the last year what a horrible decisions Phil and Steve mills man smh
@@cookingwitchefzayy8830 yep that sucks no at least your team and system is doom well under Tibbs.
Bro was great in Chicago. But after that, it was just straight finesse.
Sucks because I’m a big fan of Noah but everyone hates him because of his contract lol. Idk why people blame the players for contracts given to them.
As a Bulls fan I love Otto Porter for stealing our terrible owner’s money
bulls as #5 or #6 next year
As a Wizards fan God bless yall for taking him
I'm still surprised they took his contract in the first place.
@@dennischacko499 at least we got rid of him
I liked him with the Bulls. We had some good nights with him, outside of Zach
I remember Jonathon Simmons, me and my brother always asked what happened to him after the magic?
and He's playing in China i think
yeah also his coming up story was really cool too and then he just disappeared
As a big Spurs fan, I asked the same thing!
He is a one hell of a dunker, and I remember the time when he blocked Stephen Curry's layup in a chasedown block
@@forgottenson3411 i remember watching that live on my tv too lol
Ryan Anderson is somewhere at a private island after getting paid by the Houston Rockets.
With chandler parsons
@@awarrick6516 atleast he tried to play but I think he had a big injury and hasn’t played since
🤣🤣🤣🤣
- and wiping away his tears with a Benjamin Kleenex.
Monta Ellis was the biggest sacrifice in NBA history.
i just clicked on the video and went to the comments, i’m guessing he was the biggest sacrifice cause the warriors wanted to be with curry more than monta, luckily for my warriors it ended up working since curry is just an nba all time great top 10-15 type of player
What do you mean sacrifice
@@GsnaGs basically they gave up on monta because they believed curry was there guy which worked out pretty good
@@crypticdifferent4900 no not top10-15
@@Woodstodaface yeah preeetty good😂
Otto Porter jr. is a fundamental piece of the Warriors squad nowadays. I would not say he is completely "irrelevant".
this aged well he was so fundamental to the warriors they got rid of him
@@goten3965 yes and it didn't prove the smartest of the moves.
@@goten3965 they didn't get rid of him bro they signed him on a mega discount so when he had a bounce back year the warriors couldn't afford him. There's a difference
I really thought Otto Porter would be a breakout star with his 3&D playstyle
He’s a solid role player imo
I only remember him from his shaqin the fool 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@htownq3300 yeah you don’t watch nba at all
3&D is one of the more common playstyles now, not everyone can break out
Where he at now ? 😂😂😂
Andy Hoops swept all the awards his rookie year, the cameras just weren’t on.
he also became the first rookie most improved player
I heard, his second year, he was elected to the hall of fame, and given a lifetime achievement award
Ben Simmons will be on this list in a year or two if he doesn’t get his shit right
lool so true
😂😂😂😂
False Simmons still does everything great on both ends of the floor it’s literally just his shooting that needs work.
@@frostytoasty2220 lollll all he does is probably defence and Trae owned him 😂
@@frostytoasty2220 everything great?He can't even make a dunk in front of a 6'1 guard.
Man I remember Simmons destroying the warriors in that 1st game of KD in Golden State. I was the happiest man alive that day
I remember warriors winning the championship in kd first year while simmons was barbecuing at home watching the finals .
@@FLORESBOY626 you mad 😹😹
RHJ problem is his jumpshot he needs to continue to work on that which is probably on of the reasons why he isn’t getting minutes bc his shot isn’t just that good compared to Norman Powell & Covington
yeah, a small forward that can't shoot and stretch the floor, not really surprising
@@coldkillah4340 he doesnt even play sf a lot since he cant shoot. he normally plays pf and c;also undersize for that position. He's plays sf only when guarding a star forward
He sort of reminds me of Kenneth faried
@@artix003 yeah you're right, but I'd say he's more of a SF body wise but because he can't shoot he's often playing PF and in small-ball/run and gun lineups.
The game changed alot from when he was drafted in 2015 till now. Even from when he averaged a career high 13 points. Nowadays if you don't bring a lot of value elsewhere, you're just a liability if you can't shoot. You better be a guy that brings elite rim-protection, or elite playmaking, can guard 1-5 at an extremely high level, great paint scorer, etc. Unfortunately RHJ is none of these but I think he can get minutes if he works on his jumpshot while bringing energy and hustle plays off the bench.
I remember Ryan Anderson having a serious injury while playing for the Pelicans and was somewhat injury prone in general. Also, I don't think he is an ideal stretch 4. He was that in the early 2010s, but since then stretch 4s have become smaller, faster and more athletic. Also Anderson wasn't a great defender.
If they would have had a better big man coach, that 4/5 rotation the Magic had for a couple years would have been devastating to the NBA.
When they had DHoward, Gortat, Anderson, Shard and Brandon Bass, if that rotation was managed better, no one could have handled those teams. As the opposing team, it would be super difficult to go from figuring out how to defend lets say, Anderson/Howard, to then Shard/Howard or Gortat/Howard, or Bass/Gortat.... these duo's all function very differently and would require different types of defenders and sets to deal with them.
A better big man coach would have created a situation like.... well, like what we saw with OKC and the Spurs in 2015, where Donovan simply outcoached Pop, with his big man rotations. The forward-center mixes he was throwing out there, where so versatile that by the time the Spurs adjusted to what they were doing, he would switch it up again.
The Magic, could have done the same thing but while SVG is a good coach and not bad with big men, he is not a big man specialist nor did he have a unique view of how to run bigs, Donovan did and that's what they needed.
@@undergrounddojokeyboardcag701 You could also make a case that it was too much talent for only two positions and that all those players flourished later because they were given bigger roles, i.e. Gortat in Phoenix/Washington, Anderson in NOLA, and Bass in Boston. But to be fair, that Orlando team did not use all of their players to their full potential. J.J. Redick always comes to mind as someone who became a really good player after he left Orlando in 2012 or 2013.
@@iron3491 Well, that would simply be the argument that they'd never reach their statistical peaks.
I think we see the same thing with JJ and JJ actually had a lot of developing to do when he entered the NBA. He really had to adjust his game to function in the NBA, because what he was doing coming out of college did not translate to the NBA. He definitely developed into that player with Orlando, the only real difference being (after moving on to the Clippers) he was given more of an offensive focus with the Clippers who also had less guard depth.
He was a good offensive rebounder. Eric Gordon honestly killed that team for years. Houston signed both tho so
I loved Anderson in 2k. Boy was a pick and pop bucket everytime
Otto porter in the finals right now tied 1-1 with the Celtics, he might get a chip. I know Porter isn't as good as everyone thought but he has been decent on the Warriors
A perfect fit for the warriors
Now up 3-2
Damn Otto porter won a mf ring
A couple of needed 3s down 10 or more and a 3 down 15 or 12 in Game 4 and Andrew Wiggins as a finisher and could shoot 3s. Please resign Wiggins and OPJ and Gary Payton II any one of them can help the bench except for Wiggins is a starter. Mark Jackson "Steve Kerr sending in Iguodala in which maybe the final game in his career"
Otto got a ring 4-2 warriors
Otto Porter Jr won a ring tonight while playing meaningful minutes all playoffs. He’s null in void off this.
Low key I remember when Otto Porter Jr was like still decent on the Washington Wizards .. and so drafted high up as well , he dropped off big time
Fr when -Wilt Chamberlain Jr.- Porter was hooping on Washington he was expected to take a jump
He helped the Warriors win the 2022 NBA finals. He's a champ now.
I think OPJ had the best bounce back. When the initial plan didn’t work, he adjusted and finally found a place with the Warriors.
he had a good spot with the wizards what are you talking about
And now he won a chip
I still remember like 3 years ago, Ryan Anderson is torching other teams with his outside shooting.
The 2016 off-season is one of the most significant off-seasons in nba history and it’s not even because good players swapped teams.
Otto porter fresh off a championship. That didn’t age well.
Ryan Anderson used to be my go to player on 2k9. 3’s all day
When you hear dem trumpets , u know it’s about to be a banger of a video from Andy Hoops as always 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯💯💯
Dem trumpets be clean!
As a rockets fan I always wondered why Dantoni stopped playing Ryan Anderson. He was perfect for his system
It was because quick guards and some wings would iso him a lot, that's why he did not play against the warriors during the playoffs
Ryan anderson is a huge defensive liability and dantoni shifted to playing more wings
Too slow D’Antoni likes players who can run up and down the court
Have you watched game 7?
@@3isthenew1 Oh dear God… 20 million dollars a year to sit on the bench for an entire season… Then when he’s finally called on in a game 7, 4 possessions, 4 ISOs, 4 3s from Steph… Morey was such an idiot thank God he chose to ruin another franchise…
Otto is doing his thing on GSW
Porter was always good, but got left behind with the rising level of skill and young guys
Well right now he’s been good for the warriors.
"Why would I buy a highlight when I can watch it on CZcams for free?" ---- is a great question about a sham business. Who the hell would buy a highlight? How is this even a business?
Theoretically, you "own" the highlight or gif, meaning the official one is yours. Everything else is knockoffs. Think having actual picture of a big moment, rather than a reprint. Problem is, gifs aren't seen like photos or any physical media so I doubt the official ones hold any value after a few years
@@idk5916 But couldn't people just make their own highlights or gifs using the official broadcast footage themselves? Who creates the highlight/gif that turns around and gets traded/sold? What makes the "official" one official?
Comical.
These are my favorite type of films, knowing what happened to some of these stars/good prospects is definitely the most interesting thing that I can watch on your channel.
“Films”
After Tyreke Evans’ rookie year averaging 20-5-5 I legit thought he was gonna be an NBA superstar but he ended becoming nothing also I make videos as well
sadly Tyreke really fits well in those tipe of videos
He was close until he got busted
The problem with Tyreke was his team. They kept playing him at SG/SF but he is at that time a big PG.
Him and Oj Mayo
Sacramento efect
I feel like Deandre Jordan has a similar downfall to Joakim in a basketball sense
Nah, DJ can still be a starting center or sixth man type of player, only problem is his mobility on the perimeter. Not taking his offensive game as a problem because he is not a main focus for teams
Nah noah fell off cause of injuries dj is jus getting old and losing his athleticism
I wonder what would have happened if he took that contract from I think it was Dallas
Noah reached higher heights and fell even deeper imo.
People were chanting him "MVP" in 2013 lmao. And DeAndre's best acomplishment is being the 3rd best player on a loser team
Centres like DJ & Drummond, one dimensional and old school playing are obsolete now unfortunately.
Love your vids, man! I binged watch the sh*t outta em when I found your channel. I learned so much I never knew about in the world of the NBA. They’re very informative and entertaining! Keep up the grind 💪🏼
And Porter rockin' that Ring now.
It is always enjoyable to watch your channel. Keep on your good work!
This channel deserves more subs
Your videos are Great man been following you for a while now
Always love learning more NBA history from you!! And on a Saturday as well!!
Yessir Andy Hoops on a Saturday afternoon
love the vids Andy keep em coming let's do some mock drafts
Honestly when Otto porter played for the Bulls it looked like every shot he took was going in. Only problem was he was always injured .
Yeah he was really good when he played the problem was he just didn't play lol
Keep making these 🔥
Nice vid bro! 🙌🏽
I know he is from the 90’s, but I immediately think of Nick Anderson when you said former studs who dropped off drastically. After he missed those 4 conservative FTs in Game 1 of the 95 Finals, Anderson was never the same. Poor guy, he was lately wrongly accused for rape too.
Otto got that ring now so I think redeemed himself very well lol.
As a wizards fan who watched Otto since Georgetown and as a wizard , Otto was never a stud , he couldnt create a shot and wasnt aggressive , John Wall made him look better than what he was , he is a good shooter but also came up small in the playoffs , and on top of it all he is injury prone
Yup agreed 100 percent and I dislike Georgetown as a team very much so. Dude is best suited as a fourth option on a good team. He does not seem to have the drive and aggression to score. In other words, he has got Ben Simmons-itis.
Agreed. He would have some nice shooting here and there but all in all, he was VERY inconsistent as a Wizard. His playoff performances was mediocre.
@@trigun442 exactly , left Beal and wall left to dry in that celtics series , so many playoff games where he acted like he didnt want the ball
@Kenneth Christian he would be a good fit for almost every team , jus as long as he aint got a max contract and he stays healthy , wizards paid him like he was an allstar or on his way to becoming one , if we had him on a vet minimum i wouldnt have cared
Almost all of the people on the list aren’t “studs”. Monta (yea) and Noah (defensively). Everyone else were role players on bad/good teams In my opinion .
Harden won 55 Games with Ryan Anderson as his 2nd best player 😭😭😭
bro what? Eric gordon was the 2nd best player on the rockets that year
@@andrebrown9311 still bruh
he was like nash except more scoring focused. he was good because his system allowed him to be good.
@@andrebrown9311 honestly man's never played like it 🤣🤣
@@SophiaElibaby rings
Ryan' Andersen I respect, very sad about his lady! Always loved watching his game
Yeah I didn't know that happened to him. I feel for him.
There's so much random talent out there. I'm glad the league is thinking about expansion and I hope they have a plan for 36 teams in the near future, because there's only going to be more talent as the game expands even more worldwide.
36 is probably a lil to extreme but I definitely think it’s time the league expand at least to 32 teams
@@johndavis9321 32 is overdue imho, if the financial crash never happened it would've been the perfect response to superteams
Well if all the superstars are gonna team up on a handful of teams....why is expansion a good thing? That's why marginally talented young players are getting max contracts and are subsequently traded around shortly after signing. These players become handicaps for GMs who then have to trade them and a draft pick to tanking team to get them off the books.
I think it's better they do things like relegations....1) it's gonna help show case more players....2)with the play-in... competition round the league..teams competing for play off..play in and don't wanna go down which avoids tanking
@@kingcort8073 Honestly I think you're right in the long term but that's not a conversation most NBA fans are ready to have. Plus you'd have to build a second league out of basically nothing atm
I love your videos 🔥
“They were swamped with wings like Normal Powell, Robert Covington, and Gary Trent Jr”, Powell was trades for Gary Trent, Hollis Jefferson just didn’t fit
ryan andersons best days were on chris smooves 2k13
Monta Ellis thanks for your sacrifice
Gary Harris should be on a list like this
Hes in Orlando tho. Injury and inconsistency made him trash now
@@lookintomyeyes2807 is Orlando the place where all the washed up promising players go?
I love this series
If ben simmons will not improve, he's in part 3 of this series
Guys who can put the ball in the basket at a high level are never just forgotten about. Either they get old, injuries catch up with them, or they are cancer in the locker room, who’s negatives outweigh the positive.
NBA top shot definitely needed in life
You should make a part 3 andy
And then Wilt Chamberlain’s son became one of the key contributors in the 2022 finals
Porter done won him a championship ring with Golden State Warriors
Man Monta Ellis was one of my favorite players I always wished he would have went to my magic always traded for him in 2K and would tear it up with him one of those players that was just super fun to watch
Porter is still solid and I think he can really help a team in free agency
He’s doing just that for the warriors
Noah hits Different Loved his energy and playstyle
As a Spurs fan I was hurt when we didn’t match Jonathan Simmons contract. The juice unit was a short lived but appreciated squad in San Antonio
Peja Stoivach is who I think of first for original stretch 4. RA is definitely a super solid player!
Had the chance to meet Jonathan Simmons his rookie year, he was the a really cool dude, was so sad the Spurs didn’t keep him
Does anyone else have a list of players where you expect to find out they're overseas or retired and then you suddenly see them on the NBA court again?
Like at some point I was sure I had seen Taj Gibson and Joakim Noah end their careers and yet, they'd always be around next year and i'll be shocked once again.
That 2018 Houston Rockets is going to be remembered as one of the best team to never win a championship harden, cp3, capela, Ryan Anderson, Gerald green, trever Ariza, Nene, pj tucker, Eric Gordon and more damn it really hurts being a Rockets fan
That team reminded me of my Kings in 2002. Very talented and deep team(Rockets/Kings) going against a multiple championship Goliath(Warriors/Lakers), coached by a talented offensive minded guy who hasn't won a title yet (D'Antoni/Rick Adelman) versus a guy who's won multiple rings as a player and coach(Kerr/Phil Jackson).
@@doccholo905 and cheated cuz if you saw the game they were multiple calls the refs the didn’t call in the rockets
CP3 had to do alot for that squad. If just a few guys stepped up around him they would have won easy. Shoot and he probably would have stayed if they won a title.
@@martinaguilargonzalez7281 the refs did seem to hate the rockets/kings. Some times it's hard to think the leagues aren't rigged and I'm talking all sports
Good to see Noah doing well in CZcams
I remember Ryan Anderson got switched onto Steph Curry and got burned on back to back possessions then he disappeared from the league
I remember really liking monta ellis when i saw him do a 360 reverse layup. Too bad he's gone
Yo Andy, I reckon you should try to do the same video but with players in early 2010s; players like Copeland who was at one point decent ish
Landry fields too
Ben Gordon, the only 6th man of the year winner in his ROOKIE season! He was a promising player for the Bulls. He had many tough shots that went in and buzzer beaters. He was also versatile for his height. Then he fells off completely.
He had bad mental health problems. He would come in to the Apple store in Chicago on Michigan Avenue act like he was gonna buy thousand dollars worth of product and then just put it back out this card declined
Hollis Jefferson is doing well on my Blazers. Got a lot of playing time. Quite a scrapper
Otto has been decent this season
Anderson played like a Euro player fun to watch
what's funny about this video, one year later, Otto Porter Jr won a ring and helping the Warriors
I hope Andy knows Gary Trent Jr and Norman Powell don’t play together
i think he got confused because they were traded for each other
I remember Monta Ellis as the guy who gave me buckets on NBA 2K13
On god he was cold in 2k13
ooow i remember some of Andersons great shooting games.
Recently crowned NBA champ Otto Porter is laughing at this video right now.
Otto porter jr is about to win a nba championship
Probably the next list in the future, Andy will include, Ben Simmons, Kemba Walker and Kristaps Porzingis.
Otto Porter Jr. is in the finals now 😂
Porter is doing better now.
Jonathan Simmons has a decent numbers.. Well good thing he got the money and he'll have a better future compared to his days before the NBA .
Man monta ellis was a solid player on 2k and he had that banger layup package too
late but i witnessed Jonathan Simmons play in Houston for the local summer league here.
Otto Porter just won a ring lol
Idk if I’d consider half of these guys former NBA “studs”, more like somewhat promising guys. Good video still though.
I guess you have to be a stud to make the nba
Promising guys means stud in my book. It’s not like he said stars. All of these guys were at one point good players
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. I think he could make a big comeback and show what he’s really made of if he finds a team that suits his skill set.
I wish that but let's be real. There is no chance. He can't even find a team in Europe that's why he plays in Philippines now.
Otto porter got a ring with the warriors this yr
I wondered what happened to Simmons after leaving San Antonio.
Seeing Joakim fail broke my heart.
Oh well he is still a legend for the Bulls and got college rings
@@idipped2521 true, I grew up loving him
Noah is a prime example of how coach Thibs is a career killer. He plays his main guts too many minutes. Wonders why they're spent when they get to the playoffs
We will never forget the nets dancing on the bench
Porter is winnings ships out here!!
As a Wizards fan, I think describing Otto Porter Jr. as a stud is a bit of a stretch, and I liked having him on our team. He’s good, but not but SO good
Porter is now on the Warriors playing well 🙌🏼
Gary Trent was already in Toronto when Hollis-Jefferson signed with Portland
Bro Ellis was a beast, i saw him drop 50+ on my Rockets in H-town.
