    Just wondering why you chose flat mower/ horizontal blades rather than drum with vertical (Y blades or hammer).

    Well done. I’m waiting for a Blue Diamond 36 and a Deere 35G in MS. Just watching videos for extra tips and killing time.

    Thank you for such a well made video. I have no experience with an excavator. I just purchased a new Yanmar VIO50 and a 42" cutter from VMC. I am on top of a mountain in north Alabama and I will use it on some steep terrain. I am retired and 70 and trying to be careful but I get that pucker factor easily . BTW, I sold wine for 3 different distributors for about 10 yrs in the 1970's. Good luck in your endeavors .

      Thank you! Yanmar makes great equipment. And I hear you! If I rotate the cab a full 360 while on a slope, the pucker factor is there big time, even though I know the slope isn't that steep. 😂

    Looks like it will be very helpful. The only thing missing are fun anthropomorphic names for your various implements!

    • @HillsteadCellars
      @HillsteadCellars  Před 2 lety

      I have names for the tractor and excavator. My friend, Pat, said that since the tractor is Italian, it needed a good Italian name, like Stella. So that immediately meant that the excavator is Stanley!
      What do you suggest for the implements?

    I use #1 diesel from Shell or Cenex here in MN during winter. They put additives in that prevent gelling. Haven't had any problems yet in my E26 but never use it below 0F.
    Nice set up with the brush mower!

      That sounds like the right way to do it! My current practice of filling up jerry cans sometimes at the farmer's co-op and sometimes at the gas station leaves a lot to be desired. Getting a 500 gal storage tank is on my to-do list so I can have quality diesel delivered.

    Good video! Great camera work, editing, sound and storytelling. I’m subscribing! You must be near me in Transylvania county. My channel is Little Digger. I am getting a mower for my Volvo soon so this has been good info.

      Thank you! I’m up in Watauga County, but I was thinking it would be awesome to plant a vineyard down there so I could make a Transylvania County wine!

      Ha! Tried that 15 years ago. It’s too wet here being in the temperate rain forest. Vines are decimated by black mold. Muscadine do great however!
