How BIG are the Watchers?

  • The most useless Drakengard data ever put to video. I didn't go into detail on how I get all my measurements but my numbers are fairly accurate, a lot of model ripping and tailspan-measuring involved. I remade the entire video four times to get it just right, and as a result I am no longer capable of measuring objects in any unit other than "big babies".

Are these actual model extractions or just estimates

The models that show up in the video are ones I ripped straight from the game, though I had to set/fix the proportions myself. I spent a few weeks making this and wanted it to be as accurate as possible since otherwise it would be pointless making the video in the first place. That said getting pinpoint results wasn't really an option with the tools I had so some of the larger models are rough estimates, so add or take maybe 10% of the sizes I gave them? The Zero Angel is the only one I really guessed at (by comparing her head size to the Mother Angel using the dragons) since I didn't have any tools for ripping DOD3 models at the time.

I think the fact that even to this day, we still don't know much about them makes them the scariest monsters in the series. The Dragons are from our world to combat the aliens but the cathedral city got transported to the DoD world, turning a parallel universe into a realm of chaos, but the Watchers are beings beyond our comprehension with next to nothing about where they came from or what they truly want.

@@timothyfinn3619 i believe that the watchers were created by the gods and they served them. the gods hated humanity and been wanting to destroy it for a long time. fast forward to drakengard 1, they controlled manah and all those other broken red eyed people to destroy the seal. once it was destroyed, the watchers were able to cross over and destroy the world.
the babies were auxiliary destroyers, killing people and defending the queen. the queen is the main one, she was sucking up time and space as shown when here belly became gigantic almost as if she was pregnant. they either had to drop in seere to use "ZA WARRUDO" on her and stop time, thereby locking her and impeding her absorption of reality. the second option they had which was made in ending E was to transport her to another world? idk how angelus did it but they ended up in tokyo and angelus killed the beast. the beast then was able to infect people and with that infection, they turned into servants of the gods who still wanted to destroy humanity, only this time the humanity of another universe. this infection was also known as a forced pact between the gods and the person infected. if they refused, they'd turn to salt and die. so either way, humanity was screwed thanks to the evil gods of drakengard.

@timothyfinn3619 Well, they're supposedly connected to the Black Flower, which is probably a bioweapon made by the machines, and sent back with Cathedral City.
Since the spawn of the Flower (Intoners other than Zero if I remember correctly) can summon them, there's probably some kind of connection. Maybe it's just high concentrations of Maso that allow someone to call on them.
But other than that... Yeah, no clue. We know next to nothing about the Watchers.

@@Ultra04channel The Black Flower being made by the Machines...is that canonically true? I know of the timeloop theory, that Automata happened before Drakengard 3 etc. But I'm just wondering if any aspect of this has been confirmed in canon yet.

I think that is more correct to take the cutscene size as canon since the game has "doubtful" quality gameplay wise and to think of it its not the first time that they force a change like this for gameplay
