When you think about it, it makes sense. They wanted Bruce Wayne's most recent memory...And, well, this is it. That alleyway was a place where Bruce Wayne died, and Batman was born.
It’s very telling how they are watching a child repeatedly see his parents murdered and only one of them is showing any form of empathy/sympathy.
Really shows how even if these people are likeable they are still villains.
I mean, it's just a memory. I probably wouldn't give 2 lumps either i mean, it's not like you can do anything to stop it 😅
I like to think that Clayface stayed a few second longer than Ivy and Dr. Psycho because Bruce himself was wondering what the hell Clayface was getting at.
Like how Harley mistooks Joe Chill's name for Joe Cool and Ivy explaining her that Joe Cool is Snoopy's alter ego
For a comedy parody version of the Batman universe, this is one of the most spot on, dark portrayals of Bruce Wayne's psyche. This show comes up with those great surprises... like the ep with Bane's back-breaking of Batman. We're all laughing and having fun then JESUS!!! :D Enjoy it when this show gets a little dark every now and then.

Bruce's childhood trauma looks like the cycle of memories of Frank Castle (punisher) reliving his dying family (DaredevilS2)... I loved Harley Quinn trying to help Bruce and seeing that he couldn't try to protect the child in some way...
2:28 I feel like this is a callout on how every movie involving Batman in some way shows us his parents' death. Even the fucking Joker movie did it.
To be fair, the Joker movie was still fantastic as Hell and I like how it tied in. But yeah, I feel ya.

Ok so I just realized something great about this scene.

I’ve heard the saying that: “Every parent’s worse fear is that they may outlive their children”. What happened to Bruce, as young as he was then, was the opposite. But much, much worse.
This ilustrates perfecty the damaged psyche of Bruce Wayne it really makes you feel bad for him
Interesting to see Ivy has absolutely ZERO maternal instincts while Harley makes both a great Sister and Mother. She's fully engrossed in Reality while still capable of compassion.
Remember that Ivy normally hates humans. Harley is the only exception. Kite Man too in this universe. She is showing maternal instinct for Frank who's been harmed by Bruce.

This episode made me cry. Ive never seen or read a better insight into Batmans psyche. Whoever wrote this should write a serious Batman comic.
How can season 3 be the worst of Harley Quinn when it has one of the best episodes in all of Batman history? *This* is a masterpiece in every sense of the word, and a brilliant and chilling portrayal of Batman’s psyche.

Still kinda disappointed that Pre Acid Joker or Jack Napier wasn't the one who murdered the Waynes like in the 1989 film, it would have strengthened their connection further.
Personally I prefer Joe Chill being a random mugger. Makes the murders more meaningless in a brutal kind of way, which I think gives more significance to Batman’s overall mission to protect everyone from suffering the way he did.
That said, I can see the appeal in Jack Napier killing the Waynes to cement Joker as an embodiment of chaos in a lifelong conflict with Batman as an embodiment of order. It works in a “the villains make the hero” sense, while I like a Batman whose story is significant regardless of who he’s up against. Guess it all depends what story we want to tell. Both are good in their own way!

Thor by a mile, honestly I don't get why so everybody acts as Bruce past were so terrible. Yes is horrible he got to see his parents being murdered, but he was fine, police came to protect him latter, was surrounded for people as Alfred and Lesli who honestly loved him, was rich as hell. Many heroes including Thor had to deal with far more loses and gets much less support. Damn many lost entire planets.

Joe Chill is the first joker.
Pretty much. IIRC in the comics Joe Chill was a petty crook, but Bruce built him up as an embodiment of chaos and horror. Ironically he later met the Joker who *wants* to be an embodiment of chaos and whose "jokes" are frequently horrific. The Joker fit Batman's archetype of crime perfectly, almost by accident ... at first. (Ignoring the 1989 movie where the Joker *was* Joe Chill.)
EDIT: I didn't mean the Joker was _literally_ Joe Chill. In that movie he was the guy who really shot Bruce's parents. It's been a long time, but IIRC Joe Chill simply took the fall ... and I think got sprung from jail. (Or was that someone else?)
